Your two acre video is deceptive on the electric mower. 1. The grass looked incredibly short .
    2. It was dry conditions as it looked like dirt .
    3. The grass being cut was not green or even damp .
    4. Show me a two acre field with grass 6-7 inches tall , lush & green . I bet it won’t last for two acres .

they do quite well actually. ego and ryobi zero turns can manage 2 - 3 acres on a full charge no issue even with taller grass.

A big thing right up front is cost. Z370R is $6399, a Z320R is $3699. Also, the electric one, just like cell phones and EV vehicles, long term charging to 100% and using to almost 0% and then charging back to 100% is hard on the battery over time and will shorten its life, so its more than likely that running this between 20% and 80% is the most optimal state of charge for long battery life, but that also then means you lose 40% of your mowing capacity. The Z320R, you run out of gas, you simply fill up and there is no loss of state of charge over time to deal with.

personally for push mowers definitely battery super convenient and the big thing people forget is if you invest in the battery mower you can then get the blower trimmer etc and use the same batteries. you save money on gas in the long run and maintenance costs of engines. when it comes to riders I agree we're not there yet they're far too expensive to go battery vs gas so in that regard for riders definitely gas you can get some real used bargains out there.

seems like most of the comments are older guys stubborn to consider battery mowers. for most residential folks atleast for push mowers blowers trimmers and other equipment batteries definitely the way to go. riders its still early so I'd still lean to gas. ryobi and ego have nice offerings tho just too expensive.

John deere should offer an option to switch battery, and give the ability to people have an extra battery on the side to change in case you run out instead of having to wait the charging time.

China is not "our" enemy. President Biden just rolled out the red carpet to the Chinese supreme leader and welcomed him to the White House. Plus, look at most everything you have in your house. I'll bet at least 60% of your belongings are made in China. My mower engine, bicycle, kitchen appliances, tools, face masks etc are all made in China. Hell, even my bathroom scouring pads are made in China!

The John Deere is made in the USA. The battery likely does come from China, but at least the rest of the mower is made here so it qualifies as made in the USA, the same as the rest of the Z3 line. It's the best option for being USA made, since all the others are outright made in China with the exception of Ryobi which claims to be made here but is owned by a Chinese company

The thing is that battery mowers are coming, no matter what anyone thinks about them. As they are ushered in, gas powered machines are going by the wayside. For the average homeowner, you really will have very limited options. You can keep your existing gas burner mower and the cost to have it worked on will keep going up and up. People that can work on them will fade faster and faster so those that can wrench on them will get a premium for doing so.
Commercial machine will still be around and the price on them will increase more than they already are. Taking care of them will cost even more than it already does.
For the commercial cutter folks, you should be glad to see EV mowers happening because it will mean more business for you. They arent going to come after your mowers because they can't. The nature of how battery mowers charge prevents it.
Still, at the end of the day, they're coming and it doesnt matter how many people do or don't like it. When these things get decided, the average person isn't even an afterthought.
