I've implemented this technique on several different projects and it's taken my laser objects to a whole new level! I also had trouble with changing your file, but I took the opportunity to reverse engineer your idea and am both more comfortable with Fusion and this double walled style of working. Thanks!
Woodglue works just fine on plywood, however I do see your point. Laser cut, thing material, boxes aren't meant to "carry around in your backpack" Most use them for simple storage or as drawers in a larger container.
Wow, super helpful to know. I'm just getting into some basic traditional woodworking AND some lasercut woodwork, and I want to make pieces with some longevity. Thanks for making this!
I love the box design. I was looking for a sturdier box that could be scaled up to larger sizes out of 1/4" ply. When i try to adjust the parameters in fusion 360 the sides don't appear to scale properly, but this is a great start for my project. Thank you for sharing.
its stronger cuz its thicker. twice as thick. around the sides anyway. the ring on top helps too. lets see how strong it is with only 1 sheet of wood along the sides.
I know this is an old video...but any chance you could do a follow up on how to change the dimensions of your box design? Do we have to use Fusion 360? I have no CAD background or knowledge in this application.
Good design, but I am afraid that the I cannot change the width and length without the whole design going crazy. I wish you could fix it. Many thank for sharing this excellent video, and box design. Love it! :)
Great Video Man! Thanks for sharing!!! the design of the box is a little too much for a simple box but the design is beautiful, specially the rim idea !!
Interesting. Unfortunately, as mentioned by others changing the parameters does not work properly. Try changing the three inside dimensions to be 58mm each. Results in four errors and four warnings. The drawing is obviously incorrect.
Can you also make a video for how to use the storage Box for X-wing. I know you have a pictures on the Facebook page, but a video would be helpful as well.
You can make a box stronger by doubling up wall thickness and increasing the glue surface area on the joints? What wizardry is this?!
If you make it with 10 walls it's even stronger

Nice! Thank you! This is perfect for what I need!
You make a fair point, but your design uses 3 times as much material. Sometimes a simple box is all you need!
His design is good for a box that would go in a backpack, but yeah, needlessly excessive for a screw bin sitting on a shelf in a workshop.
Great, my old plywood box kept getting destroy by people on the street you hammered my backpack. Thanks.

You missed the boat ??????
A fair comparison would've been to make the first simple box with two layers also.

awesome! thx alot!
i cant make any changes to the box using your model in fusion 360. the box doesn't adapt right. what am i doing wrong or not doin?
"Here in America" :'D

I have no idea how to use your file to cut the pieces.
Is there a lid with this box ?

hell yes!
You took the idea from my brain hhh . Nice videa well done
Think outside the box.
That's a lot of walls, I know a Trump supporter when I see one.
Muricans...
This 'Box designer' just sucks. There is another better online calculator for the boxes.
