I remember being excited when they showed this off as Overstrike, the game showed personality, then they changed the game into Fuse to appeal to the 8 year olds who play COD instead
got this for $2 bucks brand new n loved it playing as naya n being a stealth ninja n meleeing as many peeps as possible never gets old. now i unlocked the body suit that hot asian chick wears for naya n damb she looks hot now i gotta play it again on hard. this game is awesome its like a great "b" movie. i want a sequel!
Is this guy playing the same game I am, I mean really it's awesome solo and the boss fights aren't meant to easy and short and the AI are kick-ass I never had to revive them I just the AI do their job
It's strange because all the video footage I see of this game looks really fun. And yet at the same time people are saying it is a bad game. I don't get it. Since it's so cheap now I think I'll buy it. Looks fun to me.
I just got this and love it! Its just as much fun playing alone as it is with people. Actually alone the A.I. Seems to be a pretty big help. They heal u real fast and actually kill a good bit of enemies. I dig it!...;-)
The ai surprised me so much when I was playing. They didn't kill much but they always healed anyone down and went to objectives that's all I needed especially when I was on spliscreen
Ea used to be a great publisher with great and fun titles and didn't care about profits as much as fun they had quality but their games were fun and they were known for fun and quality back in the day from the mid 80s to the 90s and early 2000s before they became corporate and started sucking and became bad
A bit of inaccurate review, since most people find the AI great and the single story pretty decent compared to how the reviewer described it. I give this review a a bad score. The game is great.
I have always been a fan of insomniac, but getting through the demo was such a struggle. I was excited when the original trailer came out with their over-the-top characters and guns. I immediately downloaded the demo when it came out and the characters became very run of the mill, none of them standing out. Part of me believes the direction of the game was a severe departure of what they originally intended and in the end, it becomes a Michael Bay movie.
"Disney'esque characters and genocide don't really mix" I'm sorry, have you not played Borderlands? They can mix just fine, it just has to be done well. As for this game, I can't say I have too high of hopes.
Most inaccurate IGN review I've seen. The single player so far is a lot of fun and the AI revive each other. I've revived 1 AI so far and that was by choice as another AI was on his way to do the job. The characters are good too. I think this guys humor levels are off because mixing dark events with humor is great. It's hard to take this reviewer seriously when he mostly makes weird voices thinking that'll get his point across more effectively.
I agree with what you said. Knack looks really original. What I like about Sony is that they give you options. They don't have just shooters. If you want to, you can also get a different kind of exclusive i.e. Knack. They don't only have a subscription based online service. It's free by default, but if you want to you can get a subscription. And the list goes on.
anyone know how to retain weapon upgrades in co op mode if the game is switched off and played at a later stage? My buddy and I keep having to start weapon upgrades at level 1 when we are way in the games story.
He gave very fair reviews to Spec ops the line, Metal Gear Revengance and Far cry 3. Spec ops the line especially, a decent amount of reviewers diskliked Spec ops but Mitch gave it a fair 8/10. He is actually a not bad reviewer. No one is perfect, if you think you can do any better then make your own reviews.
I'll probably get the Ps4 as well. Not only do I think they have better exclusives, I also just don't want to pay for an online service on top of buying the console.
That CG trailer was enough for me. You could hear the humor in it, the actual feeling of characters. If it had good gameplay and a great story, then that would had done it. Oh thanks for trying to defend it EA employee.
I understand. That doesn't mean it has to be with Sony. Plenty of publishers give developers lots of freedom. They can bring great games to both consoles.
I keep hearing in reviews that the AI is bad,but I've never seen a problem with it at all. They always seem to prioritize reviving downed allies, including me on occasion, while not just running into minigun fire and getting themselves killed in the process. They also take cover effectively and melee when enemies get close. And of course, they shoot and kill plenty of enemies.Every now and then they shoot at an enemy that I've already killed for an extra second or two, but that's it.
I'm not saying that there are bad single player games, I mean that even watching paint dry is more fun with friends so it shouldn't be a selling point. One of my main complaints about Borderlands 1/2.
Ow yes, what I love so much about Sony's exclusives is that they're not just shooters. They range from Killzone 2 to Journey. I mean, if that isn't a great amount of variety I don't know what is. Oh, and it might just have been that Sony terminated the contract with Insomniac Studios. Though I don't really care enough to actually find these sorts of things out.
Game companies don't get less money from the game. They're funded by the company they work for i.e. Sony. And just go with Sony man, they always have the better exclusives. I like the idea of exclusives. A game tailored to a system usually makes for a better experience as the game can make full use of the capabilities of the system. Besides, how else are consoles going to differentiate?
I guess. I still want them to make Ratchet and Clank games because that's where most of their creativity lies. If they're going to go multiplatform, they need to go big or go home. We don't need more generic shooters with little to no creativity involved. I really hope they do better next time.
Funny He said that because you're black you don't have as much intelligence Yet you whooped that guy's ass without saying anything Respect, you're one of the few people who give me hope in humantiy!
Nope, what I really want is for them to corporate with Sony like they used to, and to do that, it has to be PS-exclusive. They made the best games back in the days.
I enjoyed it. It has a very different feel from Colin Moriarty's more analytical reviews (which I enjoy, since he's a rather talented writer). I think it's a good way of showing that each writer has a different personality, and different views on what makes a game good.
The Last Of Us has the potential to be game of the year even though it is an exclusive. Just because exclusives don't usually become ''Game of the Year'' doesn't mean they can't.
The A.I. Was fantastic in fuse. I would get downed and they would come to my aid but if one of them was down they would help each other without my supervision. Cut the crap IGN the A.I. Was great, and if you think about buying the game, don't let IGN influence you not to.
to be fair, its probably a game meant for co-op. This could be like bashing a game like gow3 for not having good multiplayer. Maybe its strange that some games are made for multiplayer now but they shouldn't get bashed for it.
You the way he describes this game is how I feel about Boarderlands. I was bored to tears playing it solo and didn't give a shit what was going on but when I played with a group of 3 friends it was like a completely different experience and I had such a fun time! If this applies to Fuse it should be in the 8s to me like Boarderlands
It had a story behind it. Unique characters and setting. Something that Fuse clearly lacks. Gameplay likely smooth, but all hope of the game is gone when it comes to uniqueness.
It isn't Insomniac, it's EA. I can guarantee that they were constrained to all hell on this project becuase the Resistance games which were published by SOE were actually a pretty solid games.
I've made 4 valid points about cod actually, you just haven't picked up on that of course. I also find it ironic that you used the frase "deal with it" to close your statement. "Deal with it" was used by a Microsoft representative not to long ago. He basically made a statement saying we don't care about the people who pay our bills & keep a roof over our heads. We're gonna do what we want instead of what the paying customers want. That's exactly what the developers of cod do.
Actually they are still with Sony, this game was a business decision made by Insomniac that Sony had no problem with. Insomniac needed money so they ported Fuse to PS3 and Xbox with the help of EA. I believe thats how the story goes but you have to look that up.
Not really no. There are some games that are perfect without friends, it's just that multiplayer exists to keep people playing the game.. But i do get what you mean
Have you seen what EA has done? Added the online pass, supported SOPA, destroyed the Command and Conquer series and westwood studios, signed agreement so NFL would only let them release Madden games not with 2K. EA pretty much has always been shady and kills the chances of Devs of getting freedom. Oh yeah, Simcity was great then with the online bullshit?
Yeah, but fortunately that isn't something we have to choose. Insomniac is a good developer. One bad game(I personally don't think this game is awful by any means, it's just more of the same) doesn't mean they are suddenly a shitty developer. They can make good games for both consoles.
I'm suggesting that one of the ideal features of a co-op game is character combo synergy...that means Fuse is an improvement on the genre in that one regard. Considering co-op action shooters generally consist of little more than a bunch of people shooting stuff without minumul synergy this is a good step. Is Fuse good or bad overall? I havent played the whole thing yet so I cant say. IGN's viewpoint doesnt mean a whole lot to me. I'll decide for myself when I play the full game.
1.The game allows you jump from person to person, so AI isnt a problem. 2. The game is advertised as a co-op shooter, so why are they even playing by theirself
i vaguely remember reading something about insomniac delaying the release of Overstrike as well as changing the name cuz of borderlands was so awesome.
Also, if they get paid to praise big companies, they would still never bash on a less popular game, unless it's actually bad. Otherwise it would just be obvious and the folks at IGN may not be the brightest, but they're not dumb.
They cover games, they hear out the developpers and see what they have to say about their product before it's released. They don't kiss their asses when the game ends up sucking, which, if anything, shows they're actually honest in their opinions and not biased just by the fact they do a lot of coverage for the game. If they'd have scored it high you'd have complained just as much. If you "didn't expect anything less" then why are you here at all?
It's not just EA; I'm sure it also had something to do with the fact that Insomniac's Resistance, despite being very innovative and unique, failed to find a substantial audience. With Fuse, it's clear that they (and EA) wanted to make a more traditional shooter that relied on long-standing design tropes, in order to ensure commercial success. Shame though that stagnant, unimaginative corporate cookie-cutter committee designed games continue to sell better than interesting and imaginative IPs.
But that's just reinforcing what the reviewer stated, so in short, this review was fair. A squad focused game with simply GREAT A.I... AND Feels generic, even if I did play it co-op I wouldn't have enjoyed it. If it was with friends (whom I would feel comfortable playing with), then maybe I would snicker.and enjoy the moment.
No Gears has a decent story line intense fighting even on solo and decent AI now to mention addictive multiplayer and amazing graphics also likeable characters (Except for Jace)
yes that's right, and the new ps4 looks amazing i really do believe that sony listens to their fans and also developers, and they really focus on the aspect of gaming i mean they made an amazing gaming console like the ps3 and now the ps4, theri aim is for gamers, not like microsoft and their new water cooler !! and this new game Knack from sony really looks great too, i've always been supportive of sony and will always be.
still getting fuse. Im not going to let a review like this stop me from buying this game. I know for a fact that the AI's aren't that dumb to not revive you. Im an insomniac fan and have always been ever since i played spyro the dragon, and to me(in my opinion, nobody elses), they never let me down. no matter how much the reviewers hated the games.
Everything is better with friends, a game shouldn't be rated higher just because its more fun with friends. Rev3Games knows how to review a game like this, clearly IGN doesn't.
Remember ratchet and clank 3? Remember when insomniac games where as big, if not bigger, than naughty dog? What happened? While Naughty dog go on to make the last of us (best game ever) ,insomniac plummets into obscurity. It's kind if sad to be honest.
He/she never said that. He/she was just saying that making fun of COD is getting really old. The COD games aren't really as bad as everyone says it is. I'm not saying they're GOOD, because they're not, but it's not terrible. They're just uninspiring and boring. I'm about 90% sure the only reason a lot of people dislike COD is because of it's "fanbase"; more specifically, kids with microphones.
I'm not saying Insomniac is a shitty developer, I actually really like them. It's just that their choice to go multiplatform wasn't that good, and neither was this game.
Yeah, I know. EA is ruining everything. I still can't believe Microsoft hired them to stage on the Xbox One reveal. That was definitely not a good idea.
That's a shame. I was expecting a higher score for this game considering insomniac did such a good job with resistance. I wonder why they didn't do a better job with this...
True. IF possible I'm going to get the PS4 anyway. I probably won't have enough money when it comes out. I personally don't think Playstation has better exclusives, I think Xbox does but that's just my opinion.
Thank you IGN for getting straight to the point. In the first seconds you tell me single player sucks and multiplayer rocks....I like single player so i´m out. No need to finish watching the review.
Well, you see: Sony gave them literally no limits, they had the power to make the games they wanted, no matter how crazy they were. EA.. is a different story, to put it that way. If they are going to corporate with Sony, it must be a PS-exclusive.
I remember being excited when they showed this off as Overstrike, the game showed personality, then they changed the game into Fuse to appeal to the 8 year olds who play COD instead
It's a lot harder than COD.
That doesn't make sense.
Ea did this
@@robertmcauley7685 Play Overwatch 2 instead of Fuse if you will.
this game is AWESOME i dont need IGN review to see that this game is pretty strong and worth it
I love this game I want them come back with a sequel but this time with alien i feel like it should be free to play at this point
who wants to play this in 2017?
got this for $2 bucks brand new n loved it playing as naya n being a stealth ninja n meleeing as many peeps as possible never gets old. now i unlocked the body suit that hot asian chick wears for naya n damb she looks hot now i gotta play it again on hard. this game is awesome its like a great "b" movie. i want a sequel!
Naoking90 ps4 the servers are still up for this online?
Is this guy playing the same game I am, I mean really it's awesome solo and the boss fights aren't meant to easy and short and the AI are kick-ass I never had to revive them I just the AI do their job
It's strange because all the video footage I see of this game looks really fun. And yet at the same time people are saying it is a bad game. I don't get it. Since it's so cheap now I think I'll buy it. Looks fun to me.
it's indeed a fun game.. especially the fuse weapons in the game and switching to different characters.. boss fights are epic, overall a good game
It was fun
0:13 *clicked pause* that's all i needed to hear
I just got this and love it! Its just as much fun playing alone as it is with people. Actually alone the A.I. Seems to be a pretty big help. They heal u real fast and actually kill a good bit of enemies. I dig it!...;-)
The ai surprised me so much when I was playing. They didn't kill much but they always healed anyone down and went to objectives that's all I needed especially when I was on spliscreen
Glad it was made by Insomniac, pissed it was published by EA
Ea used to be a great publisher with great and fun titles and didn't care about profits as much as fun they had quality but their games were fun and they were known for fun and quality back in the day from the mid 80s to the 90s and early 2000s before they became corporate and started sucking and became bad
Who’s here after the Outriders preview?
Also, gg ign.
A bit of inaccurate review, since most people find the AI great and the single story pretty decent compared to how the reviewer described it. I give this review a a bad score. The game is great.
most people think the game is mediocre actually
Agreed, awful review. Amazing game
This game is amazing single player or co op the AI have saved me more times than not fuse is a good game period
Movie matics this game was trash
This reminds me of Brute Force, but less creative, less fun, and less interesting. So basically, nothing like Brute Force.
I have always been a fan of insomniac, but getting through the demo was such a struggle. I was excited when the original trailer came out with their over-the-top characters and guns. I immediately downloaded the demo when it came out and the characters became very run of the mill, none of them standing out. "Disney'esque characters and genocide don't really mix" I'm sorry, have you not played Borderlands? They can mix just fine, it just has to be done well.
As for this game, I can't say I have too high of hopes.
This game is finally worthy playing now that it's 10 bucks
Bought it today for 2 bucks at GameStop! 😊
1 buck 50
i don't really mind the more casual approach, as long as they actually review and tell me about the game.
I'd give it an 8. Not a 6.5.
Exactly its solid 8
I cannot take this reviewer seriously. He is the most unprofessional professional reviewer I've ever heard.
Most inaccurate IGN review I've seen. The single player so far is a lot of fun and the AI revive each other. I think this guys humor levels are off because mixing dark events with humor is great. It's hard to take this reviewer seriously when he mostly makes weird voices thinking that'll get his point across more effectively.
I find it disturbing that he’s only playing as Dalton or Izzy. He does know Naya and Jacob are playable characters, right?
I agree with what you said. Knack looks really original. What I like about Sony is that they give you options. They don't have just shooters. If you want to, you can also get a different kind of exclusive i.e. Knack. They don't only have a subscription based online service. It's free by default, but if you want to you can get a subscription. And the list goes on.
This guy has to do EVERY review for IGN from now on. He's fantastic.
I love how unprofessional the reviewer is... this is IGN right?
the AI is a really big help to me and it always revives the other AIs
anyone know how to retain weapon upgrades in co op mode if the game is switched off and played at a later stage? My buddy and I keep having to start weapon upgrades at level 1 when we are way in the games story.
yup i still feel extremely happy that this game got a 6.5. shouldve kept it at Overstrike. i remember watching that trailer multiple times.
love the guns in this game, can't wait for sunset overdrive!
GameSpot gave FUSE a 7.0, and I trust their opinion more then IGN.
I liked the demo and this is a lot of fun with co-op.
Had such high hopes for this game back when it was Overstrike
Insomniacs must miss Sony.. This is why you don't have game testers who are 12 year old.
He gave very fair reviews to Spec ops the line, Metal Gear Revengance and Far cry 3. Spec ops the line especially, a decent amount of reviewers diskliked Spec ops but Mitch gave it a fair 8/10. ok there buddy
Ok, after watching 1 min and 8 seconds of this "review" I think I understand why people hate Ign so much....
I hope this guy does more reviews. He seems more entertaining to listen to than others.
Game companies don't get less money from the game. They're funded by the company they work for i.e. Sony. And just go with Sony man, they always have the better exclusives. 1:12 "Disney-eques Characters and Genocide doesn't mix" Well you haven't play BioShock Infinite, haven't ya'?
4.99$... most likely won't be playing with friends, so quick questions:
-How is single player?
-Is there any matchmaking? (Join others' games?)
count on me, single player is awesome, AI does their job pretty well..
I guess. I still want them to make Ratchet and Clank games because that's where most of their creativity lies. If they're going to go multiplatform, they need to go big or go home. We don't need more generic shooters with little to no creativity involved. I really hope they do better next time.
Funny
He said that because you're black you don't have as much intelligence
Yet you whooped that guy's ass without saying anything
Respect, you're one of the few people who give me hope in humantiy!
It's not philosophy, its common sense. I'm not buying a product from a company that doesn't respect or appreciate my business.
I think it's a good way of showing that each writer has a different personality, and different views on what makes a game good.

not a bad review, its obvious he doesn't want to bullshit anything, so its short, sweet and to the point
to be fair, its probably a game meant for co-op. This could be like bashing a game like gow3 for not having good multiplayer. Maybe its strange that some games are made for multiplayer now but they shouldn't get bashed for it.

But i do get what you mean
If they make a sequel and iron out the issues this series could make a come back much like Borderlands did.
Looks like an early space themed The Division. I'd buy this if I had somebody to play with
Have you seen what EA has done? Nice review. I'll consider this game as a budget-only buy.
1.The game allows you jump from person to person, so AI isnt a problem.
2. The game is advertised as a co-op shooter, so why are they even playing by theirself
I agree but I don't think its that bad of a single player game. Although I've only played the demo.
you are welcome ;)... btw I was joking all the time, don't take it seriously :P
i vaguely remember reading something about insomniac delaying the release of Overstrike as well as changing the name cuz of borderlands was so awesome.

I've never seen this reviewer before.
I saw you say the exact same thing on another video. Just because it's third person it doesn't mean it's like Gears of War.
At least better than gears of war

is the story good?
...if they are still with EA. In the other event, Insomniac will succeed for more when their other team goes on with Sony.
Everything is better with friends, a game shouldn't be rated higher just because its more fun with friends. Rev3Games knows how to review a game like this, clearly IGN doesn't.

I'm glad you did sir. I guess the game isn't for everyone, but i think i would enjoy the game.
I give it 3-5 weeks.
Well, all scores are relative. So yes, you can get much more fun games at the same cost.
I agree completely
That's a shame. I was expecting a higher score for this game considering insomniac did such a good job with resistance. I wonder why they didn't do a better job with this...
If RUclips comments bother you that much then you should stop reading them as of right now.
True. IF possible I'm going to get the PS4 anyway. I probably won't have enough money when it comes out. I personally don't think Playstation has better exclusives, I think Xbox does but that's just my opinion.
Highly unlikely. Exclusives don't usually get game of the year.
Good, evenhanded review.
