Great game, played it a lot during demo and few previous test branches! This was amazing experience and so good & fun. Very funny, fast and can be played even without players in interesting way as AI is really good!
Gaming community can be so AWESOME somethimes that it make me adore that I'm a part of it
I played Tannenberg, Verdun & Isonzo, also played Holdfast: Nations at war WW1 mod. The only good thing (maybe) here I see that you have tanks, but that's just my opinion. Verdun is played a bit different, you can't just go to enemy positions, because WW1 was a position war with trenches vs trenches, sometimes you charge, sometimes you defend or fallback, IDK but I like that mechanic more than just another shooter.
Mapdesign + tanks+ turrest looks cool but crosshair and gameplay needs to be improved. I Mein there is isonzo out there which probably feels 20 times better
It's a shame BCoF died off like it did, it had a ton of great features in it. I did enjoy playing on the demo for Over the Top, and it's nice to have bot support
BCOF was my shit but onl;y commander mode that was what was actually super fun! Well regular mode i didnt like the conquest respond mode as much as the one life per round mode both fun tho i was god teir in that
What happened to BCOF is sad. But I have a feeling that War of Rights is what killed it. Prime and Load didn’t go very far either.
not too much hope for this unfortunately. battlecry of freedom kinda flopped and was abandoned. i hope they focus on coop experiences and not just solely PVP. lobbies were usually always dead in battlecry of freedom. but still keeping my eye on it :)
did he just say "what in the vietnam napalm" ? lol
L devs letting BCoF die
The devs didn't let BCOF die. They did everything they could to continuously fix the issues, including working on the game a whole extra year while the game had no players.
They didn’t let it die, they made it die
This game is likely to end the same way their American Civil War game performed. It's just another pebble in the same pond.
This game works to improve on the mistakes of BCOF, you should actually try it before judging it so harshly.
@@63emisha76Oh don't get me wrong. I liked BCoF, I was one of the creators who got access to it before release like Resonant and tried marketing it on my channel. The game died just like other similar games that came out in recent years, it's hard to replicate what Mount & Blade and its Napoleonic Wars dlc managed to deliver. You're also working in a niche for which many of these kind of games exist now unlike back in 2012 (naturally).
@@frenchmonk94 yes WW1 is a niche however Over the Top looks to differentiate itself similar to Battlefield 1 by focusing more on intense, fun gameplay rather than super historical accuracy. It has more of a OG star wars battlefront feel. The game is pretty fun now but will be a lot better after some polish. Don't get me wrong what happened to BCOF was unfortunate and I'm worried for the niche of OTT but similar to Holdfast I feel people will play it more for the fun factor rather than the setting
This is why I don't like mods

its a bit cold down here.
Abandoned within 2 months
No it won't be, and BCOF wasn't abandoned within 2 months either. It got an update ever 2 weeks for over a year plus major updates scattered throughout. Check your facts
This man must be a bot or white knighting shill
I'd passed as a bcof player.

there needs to be entertaining game modes that keep the game fresh and fun. Attack and defend like defenders have 2 to 3 mins to dig in and hold, then the option to attack if they hold. Desert maps, ottomans, astro hungarians, belgians. Im scared it will die like battle cry of freedom and abandoned, they also need to add workshop and activily organise events
Not willing to buy anything from these guys anymore after they let BCOF die due to their mismanagement.
That civil war game had so much potential. I really liked their ideas, but they screwed up sadly.
They didn't let it die, they tried to revive it with the 2.0 update working on it for a whole extra year when the game had no players. This game also improves on the mistakes of BCOF. The game has public playtests so you should try it before judging
@@63emisha76They released mods for the game before fixing it. If I wanted to play a Star Wars game I would have bought Star Wars instead.
@@63emisha76 The game died because they fucked around right after launch with mods nobody asked for, they went radio silent for quite a while, and released an update that caused performance issues for a lot of people. After that, more radio silence. They made a game with tons of potential and fairly well thought-out features yet they did a terrible job of communicating and that’s largely what killed the game.
@@erikhermansson1050 they weren't mods, the only "mod" was AoN, the other stuff was made by other people and added by FSE to show off the modding potential of the game. Yes it was a not so great call and wasn't communicated effectively along with other things but OTT will not make the same mistakes
Woooow
Interesting point you made about the diversity. A lot of the times, when someone makes a WWI game, it's always revolving around the western front. Why not add the eatern front? Italian? Balkans? Middle East/Turkey? Hell, Add in some African frontiers. It would add for variety in factions and scenery. They also made cavalry for their civil war game. Why are they not adding cavalry in this game? It might give them that edge over other games. They also have the ability to have many players, so in order to have another edge they should definitely go for battles of 200-500 players. Anyways, i've not much faith in these developers tbf, sorry.
I agree
Looks too cartoony for me
