Hey Villaman, another great episode. In your opinion, would you choose an LG over Samsung? I wanted to reach other to tell you to thank you for posting a video of your in-ceiling speakers. I installed my Bowers & Wilkins CCM663 in-ceiling speakers, and they sound amazing! On a speaker, setup note, what made you decide to pick the Martin Logan In-ceiling Speakers?

Great review and solid info, thanks! I also don't really understand the benefit of 8K for TV use... I mean i don't want to watch closer than 1,2 x screen diagonal length - so in theory there should be no use for more than 4K 🤔

in my thought is, my next purchase to replace my C9 is 8k LG OLED 55 inch
I hate when I go close to the screen and see the pixel I use to QHD in smart phone with extremely sharp images
4k is absolutely not enough for me i think even 8k, I need smart phone pixel density in 55 inch screen
overall thank you for the best TV test and satisfying for me to watch
keep the outstanding video thank you again

Exactly what they said when 4k first came out & most content is still recorded in 1080p even now

Great video man! I honestly don't know what Samsung is doing , those prices are ridiculous and there is no need for 8k

I believe the Q900/950T would’ve been a better comparison being as that’s the flagship 8K model with the proper specs to make the PQ pop. More zones and better contrast on the 900.

I think you get an ATSC 3.0 tuner in the 8K sets as well, which aren't available in the 4K models (which is lame ;))

Hey Villaman my home theater tour is out 😁. And also I know it wouldn’t be possible to get near 60fps or any type of stable frame rate from a 8k display but have you tried gaming on any 8k panel yet? I’ve been curious about the visual and graphic fidelity of games at a resolution that high for a while now.

Great video! I can’t say for this set, but the 75q900r from last year hits 4400 nits in dynamic, and 3200 nits in standard. With super dark letter Sox zones too. That is the reason the set is awesome. Without the extra pop in hdr, I would agree, maybe 8k isn’t worth the price.

Always great reviews, appreciate Villa, 👍I need some advice, my main TV suffered screen failure and needs to be replaced. I am torn between the Q80T and Q800T, simply because I'm in South Africa and for some reason the 8K is not that much expensive than the q80t.
I need advice specifically for HDR, my screen that failed was a MU 7000, HDR was terrible dark and dull, reviews I've seen say Q80T HDR is good and effective, where as Q800T is fantastic and impressive. I am also concerned about the points you raised about panal uniformity (dirty screen effect) on the q800t as well as vertical banding, will these really be an issue during normal viewing from gaming, streaming and regular satellite cable TV? Is there a chance that cable TV could look horrible on the 8K? Then HDR between the two?
Your advice will be highly appreciated Villa, thank you,

Great review as always. I will be getting this tv in the 82" size. I feel the larger size will benefit more from the 8k. I also am trying to future proof my set up, in the sense that I wont need to get a new tv again for around 8 or 10 years.

I have a question @Tha_VillaMan . I want to get a tv that has the best picture quality for watching movies bit without the least stutter. I will be watching 24fps movies and game at 30fps ps4. I also can't stand the soap opera effect. Would you recommend q800t or save some money and get the q90t. I just want a smooth picture without the soap opera effect. I dont really care for 8k.

In my country (Brazil) we don’t have the q90t. And the 75q80t and 75q800t are costing the same. In this particular situation, even if I don’t care about 8k, will the q800t be a better buy than the q80t?

I’ve had 8 Samsung TV’s of various types including my last 4K Q7F and had a 1080 p 900 series both 75 Inch.I recently purchased this QN800 8K in 85 inch.I can only say that I don’t know yet if I have A bad one but it is The Worst TV I’ve ever had.The panel itself is slightly bent. The one connect box input for IO Optical cable will not lock on the lead and keeps coming loose. Not that bothered about that as I’m changing to EARC HDMI.The picture quality on a lot of media looks like Standard Definitely. You can’t tell much different between SD and HD.4K HDR is absolutely dreadful the dark scenes are to black and the bright scenes are blindingly bright. The overall picture looks blurry and really not sharp.Brights scenes are washed out.Really poor overall picture quality.Don’t tell me to change settings as I knew all about the complete menu on this TV before purchasing and have spent hours and hours trying to achieve a good picture.I do a lot of pro editing and have had cinema rooms and AV equipment for decades so I can say I haven’t missed anything.I purchased new HDMI 2.1 cables and the tv is connected to the Internet via a cat 8 cable with a very strong signal.I cannot believe that this TV could be so bad.My last 4K set is in my storerooms and I think it’s coming back.I’m going to the store to try and change this TV for something else.Over €5400 Euros waisted.Plus the fitting and a new wall bracket and disruption.
