I live in Windsor, Ontario where the bridge was blocked for 5-6 days and the entire local economy/all the automotive plants were shut down because they could not get parts (they use a 'just in time' method so that there is no on-site storage of materials... saves room). Those protestors disrupted the city, caused increase police expenses which go onto OUR TAXES and achieved NOTHING.
I am NOT a Trud'Oh support in 1 million years. but the protest at the bridge was a mistake. I favour protests BUT AGAINST THE RIGHT PEOPLE not against the common working stiffs. They should have protested at government offices directly.

Canada, the US, Germany, and the UK are all poor when it comes to banking. There are at least some alternatives in the US that you can go to but the terrible Dodd-Frank laws that were passed have caused a lot of the smaller better regional banks and start-up banks to go out of business so you are becoming increasingly stuck with bigger corrupt monopolies. If I was in the US I would sign up for Battle Bank if I met the requirements. Canada, the UK, Germany, and the EU it seems all have bigger issues because there may be no alternatives if they decide to cancel you because they are all doing it and in bed together with each other and those in power.

Do you not know the difference between sex and gender? As for Jez: Jeremy Corbyn has been an MP for 40 years and you judge the man on one policy: one that was a Conservative Party and UKIP policy, and an argument within the capitalist class on how best to run capitalism: regulatory or deregulatory. For Corbyn he was being forced to come down on one side or the other of two equally dreadful forms of tyranny: that of the market or of political institutions; what Benn called the “tyranny of Brussels”. Corbyn was attempting to put the message across - not clearly enough - that it is _their_ argument, and the battle for the working class is not which regulatory form of capitalism should exploit us, but that the UK should be “for the many, not the few”. Instead working people voted in the droves for the few to enrich themselves and to drive even more people into impoverishment. And the solution for these “droves”, these herd of voters that voted for “Boris”? Vote for more of the same, or vote or swear devotion to the liars and charlatans on the right: Farage, Tice and Fox: an absolute shower that are enriched by fossil fuel rich donors to spread misinformation, doubt and lies.

To quote the cashier “ we don’t want to end up with egg on our face”. I was livid, they knew me and I had paid in before. I complained in writing to the bank and received an apology and was told that the cashier and manager concerned were sent for further training. Some how I doubt that. In my opinion the banks are bullies. As someone once told me treat the banks as though they are the enemy and I always have since that experience.
