Now thats your Channel keeps comming more and more popular, it would be intresting if you make a Video about you, your Family, your Farm and the Country (northern alberta) you life in. Greetings from Europe
I saw a few of your video's and it is very interesting what you guys doing on the farm. I hope you are doing a few more like this one and keep up the good work.
what's a grinder like that cost if you don't mind me asking. we would like to get one for our operation. can you grind square bales in that grinder. hope you have a good evening.
we dont have any problems here and we go down to as cold as 30minus degrees celcius atleast for 2-3 weeks in the winter. the company we buy from does not put any additives in the farm diesel
How would a person get into farming if they didn't come from a family farm background. I'm thinking of a farm over 100 acres in size. I looked into it and unless you are under 40 you can't get any government loans. Any thoughts or advice? Great videos!!
now i have never seen a machine like that before, so thanks for showing it. as i'm sure it makes ur life and the cows lives much better. u say 30 below? whats that here in the usa.
yeah-lol-a little chilly for sure. the coldest i ever worked in was -25* i was running an old D-9G cat dozer, working for a coal company. it was the only thing that started by itself that morning. then i spent most of the day jumping all the other equipment. stay warm-ok

We run 4 of these bale shredder rigs on the ranch I work on and boy howdy there worth there weight in gold eh? lol and the twine is sho nuff alot easyer to remove b4! the shred! lol but COLD IS COLD! And a couple knives work real fine on it to! great vid pard!
verry entertaining i like all your videos... i sure am glad it doesnt get as cold here in the usa state of illinois its 21degrees above zero right now still freezing water but wow i couldnt imagine being that cold
I'd like to have a hat like yours , the one I have is the red checked pattern and I think the john deere emblem makes it way cooler than mine . stay warm buddy .
nice vlog , that's a handy machine you got there sure beats doing it by hand I'm I thinking you should be so kind & sell me that little john deere with blower / thrower .hahahaha to small for your farms just right for my 1 & 1/2 acres of city land . I'm getting big around here .lol what is the size & number of that little deere ? I own 6 little john deeres , 322, 332, (2)242's / x310/& a 210 of them now the only thing I need is 1 with a blower on it then I wouldn't have to change anything , just jump on & go , have bucket/ loader / blade / mower on different 1's I'm handicapped & can't get on ground well I can but I won't get back up thanks 4 sharing your videos very interesting
i was asking about the thrower that went on the little J.D. garden tractor that was in back ground of this vid when you was talking in 1st min. seen little guy behind you and thrower was on other side of trailer
ok i know whats up i'm wrong the pic @ 14 sec's is showing the blower you're talking about and i thought because i didn't see the handles it fit on the little J.D. there is a blue trap over handles .my bad you fake me out
Brilliant hat ! i must have a look on Ebay to see if I can find myself one . I was very impressed with your bale processor , it throws the material a good distance .
+Northern farmer nice that you replied 👍. Here in Sweden we have an animal welfare law. It forbids us to have animals outside all year. We have animals in groups indoors. So-called loose housing barns. excuse my bad English. 😉 🙄
+Northern farmer okay. In our little wetter climate in the south of Sweden, it is of course difficult. In northern Sweden, the climate is more like what you have. I think. You can check out my Instagram. anders_nytorp. There are some pictures of how we have it here. 😉
How much HP do you need to run your processor? Cows look happy. So you will just keep adding straw on top till spring?
150hp is good for it... The mx 120 has 120 hp... but I like using it cause it has no duals and mfwd

Maybe
I like your bale processor. It's funny how cows who wouldn't normally give you the time of day run to see you in the winter !
Thanks James

That one cost me 17,000 new... Umm yes you can but its hard... There is a different model for grinding big squares though. I'll look it up
Nothing harder on air filters then shredding straw
Yea and hay to... dusty!!!
Great video as normal, just wondering how much land do you's own ?
We farm around 2000 acres
that cold weather must b hard on you guys physically and mentally
we are tough lol.. its not bad
In temperatures as cold as that how do you stop the diesel from gelling both in the bulk storage tanks and the machines fuel tanks?
I thnk in November the bulk station puts out winter fuel.. which is lighter diesel.
When it gets really really cold like below 40 it will still gel up
we dont have any problems here and we go down to as cold as 30minus degrees celcius atleast for 2-3 weeks in the winter. the company we buy from does not put any additives in the farm diesel
Looks like it works real nice. We spread the old fashion way. Use the skidloader and try to rip up the bale. lol
lol sometimes we have to do that to
That bale processor is awesome! Sure would be handy for bedding and feeding
Its a life saver... used to do it all by hand before
larsonvalleyfarm yes very true

now i have never seen a machine like that before, so thanks for showing it. as i'm sure it makes ur life and the cows lives much better. u say 30 below? whats that here in the usa.
Your welcome..It is a life saver.. before we had to throw bales down and fork all the straw by hand..-30C is -22F
yeah-lol-a little chilly for sure. the coldest i ever worked in was -25* i was running an old D-9G cat dozer, working for a coal company. it was the only thing that started by itself that morning. then i spent most of the day jumping all the other equipment. stay warm-ok
I find our new to me D8k starts pretty good so far
Looks like happy cows. Bale pro does a nice job.
Its awesome
who are these people you family or brothers sons just wondering
John deer hat but all of his tractors are Case IH
Thanks for sharing. At what temperature is bedding a necessity? Any opinion on wrapping hay bales?
Anytime it gets below freezing... but more so when it gets down to these temps.... its important to keep it thick with straw
Great video bud. Looks like we are going to stay cold for awhile. Your cows are going to love you for spreading out some nice bedding.
Thanks... looks like no end in sight yet
Thanks for the cold weather it was minus 15 in North Dakota this morning.....lol
Haha... your welcome

Some nice looking cattle. It's cold here in Minnesota too. It went from above average temps to the icebox in a couple of days.
Thanks....yea you probably got it a couple days after we did...
Excellent North Central Ohio
verry entertaining i like all your videos... i sure am glad it doesnt get as cold here in the usa state of illinois its 21degrees above zero right now still freezing water but wow i couldnt imagine being that cold
Its -34 this morning.... and it doesnt really seem that bad... except when you want to start things that arent inside
Man thats a good brand of touqe!!
Haha..yea i got lots of comments why the deere hat if you run case tractors . You brushing up for the bale grinder lol
@@Northern_Farmer how'd you guess hahahabab
How many tractor do you have
the cold weather is hard.but that warm tractor is nice. thanks for the video.
Your welcome
you spring straw harvested from the field?
Yes
-37 at my place this morning -49 with wind chill
Cold hey
Sure beats throwing the straw around with a pitchfork!
I'll say!!
Do you have a set period of days that you leave your bulls with the cows?
the cows are all bred right now... the bull will be seperated once calving starts
we had cows that ate the straw bales, so we were always spreading more bedding that what we had too.
Ours ate the straw bales last year... this year they dont care for it
how many acres do you farm? how many head of cattle do you have?
Oh about 2000 acres... and 200
I'd like to have a hat like yours , the one I have is the red checked pattern and I think the john deere emblem makes it way cooler than mine . stay warm buddy .
My dad got it for Christmas.. but he didnt want it so he gave it to me lol
Thats a great processor, I would love to have one for my cows
They make things a lot easier
You mean to tell me that cows don't sleep standing up? lol
To lazy
we always remove our twine by hand off of the bale
We do to.... only didnt do it today to show how the twine comes off
you need to be in that movie Revenent, with that hat
lol no doubt
We have 651
Sorry 40
High line
Can you use large square bales with that processor?
Any Bears or Wolves in the area?
No bears in this weather they are sleeping till spring lol. There are a few wolves but not this close to the farm
It does a really nice job. How is the material propelled out that distance?
The rotor spins pretty fast and flings the straw out that far.
thanks
thats cold thanks for the video
Your welcome
Really like the twine cutter on your processor Tyson!
how is the cow market up there
Not to bad... went down compared to a few years ago... Getting a 1.30 per lbs average.
how far north are you Canada
Im in the North part of Alberta
Hard to beat the mx series case they are pretty darn good tractors
They are indeed... the mxm series that came next was crap
Northern farmer that series you just needed to keep the transmission calibrated and they are ok
how about using a little bottle torch to burn through the twine?
Thomas Shaw that would burn the straw
Id just rather pull the twines off the bales first
nice vlog , that's a handy machine you got there sure beats doing it by hand

I dont have a snowblower that goes on a tractor??? Thats the snow blower that I sent you the video to look at...
ok i know whats up i'm wrong the pic @ 14 sec's is showing the blower you're talking about and i thought because i didn't see the handles it fit on the little J.D. there is a blue trap over handles .my bad you fake me out

I got it for xmas so im not sure where it came from... Yeah it works great
Real good. 👍
Thanks Kjell
Thanks for sharing. Keep yourselves warm.
Thanks Darrel
very interesting video. The processor does a great job.
It is hard to fathom how the steers can keep warm and they don't get frozen hooves.
They are tough.. lots of straw and feed and shelter and they are good
Hello there. your system to have the cows outside in the winter, we would never be able to have here in Sweden.
How come?
+Northern farmer nice that you replied 👍. Here in Sweden we have an animal welfare law. It forbids us to have animals outside all year. We have animals in groups indoors. So-called loose housing barns. excuse my bad English. 😉 🙄
Beef cattle are usualy more hardy for our cold climates... although if we had a huge enough building to put them in that would be better...
+Northern farmer okay. In our little wetter climate in the south of Sweden, it is of course difficult. In northern Sweden, the climate is more like what you have. I think. You can check out my Instagram. anders_nytorp. There are some pictures of how we have it here. 😉
