You are very fortunate indeed. I would live to be able to do this type of work! I love cowboy hats, but I live in northern Indiana and I would be a little to sticking out being a girl and only a occasionally do you see a guy with a hat. Born Californian from Grandparents from MO, AR AND OK area's that migrated during the depression/WW2 era. My Mom's Dad being a cowboy/horse trader......or anything else trader. He raised my Mama on a horse in her boots, hat and double 6 shooter cap guns WITH holsters. She passed all that western love to us girls. I have always long for a Roy Rogers style hat, but you just can't find a hat like that. I found a RUclips video of Roy actually showing how he shaped his own hats at home, but I know I couldn't do it. I wouldn't want to risk a hat to do it. A couple years ago I became a proud owner of my first hat. It was on sale and it is a cheaper Americana (I think that is the name I would have to go look, I may try to edit this later) Straw hat. I hope someday to afford a good hat and get the guts to wear it around in town. I hope you continue on with your work and pass in the knowledge and skill and hopefully my generation, who I don't claim to be apart of, with snap out of all this crazy stuff and get back to the good and the moral things.
I think I get your point here. And believe it’s good intentions. But people with disabilities don’t “need” to offer anything to society. Unless they want to. But that comes from them, not society.
I recently took possession of my granddad's Shudde Bros. hat he perhaps bought in the 40s or 50s. Thankfully the original box was kept to store the hat all these years! I brushed it thoroughly and it looks really nice...Thanks to the Shudde Bros. for this wonderful heirloom that is still looking good!
This was awesome to watch! I was a counselor for many years working with people that have developmental disabilities. Always great to see stories like these .thank you!
Sir you truly are an amazing person and a true hero thanks for all you have done for those amazing and Great people sadly left behind THANKS FROM ALL OF AMERICA
I love hats!!! Back in my early childhood, I wore Cowboy hats and then, I transitioned to Baseball type hats but, over the years I've developed skin cancers on my face and forearms. Upon the recommendation of my Dermatologist, I've gone back to Cowboy hats and Fedoras. I'd love to have a custom made hat from Shudde Brothers Hat Shop. Thanks Bob and Kelli for sharing another wonderful and informative video. Stan
In the 60’s I worked in a men’s store in Orange and the owner sent out all the Stetson hats that customers brought in to Studde in Houston. Some of those hats were dirty, stained and didn’t even have a hatband. I though they should have been just thrown away as nobody could restore that ole hat. When the hat came back, it would look brand new without any stains, a new headliner and new material in the top. Great job, Studde!
Dad usta send his felt hats to them in the spring & they came back in the fall looking brand new . Still got 2 of them - must be 50 years old now & look amazing ....
I have two cowboy hats I purchased from Shudde Bros. in the 90s and they restored a fedora that belonged to my grandfather in the 50s. That was back when they were still located near downtown Houston. Neal helped me on all three occasions and his patience, attention to detail, and offering a quality product were top notch. I would highly recommend his shop when wanting a hat.
VERY pleased to know that crease(which I love) is more than simply a style out of a TV show. The show was great of course but the style is actually real!...thanks for that!!
1:10 for i like a teardrop pinchfront crown but i still stick to the cattleman brim so i try to do a mix of blending in and standing out. Most people wear cattleman hats so that blends me in and the crown makes me stand out. I love the look of teardrop crowns and their comfortable on my head thats why i wear them.
Now that I've seen this video, I honor to wear my Stetson hat (open road in caribou grey) for this hat maker and for those that put their heart n soul into their work and lifestyle. Amen.
As an Italian that has been adopted by Texas I have never bought a Cowboy hat.. just let me sort out a few things and this will change.. and I know where it will happen.. oh yes. God bless y'all
I brought the palm hat back in style, living in vegas and working everywhere and the general public I know for a fact people see my shit and bring it home

I have a Shudde Bros hat and he’s working on another of mine. He’s a great man!
