I Bought the World's Most Expensive Bass Fishing Reel. I did it, I casted it, and I caught some fish on it, as you will see in the video, and it was so worth it. DC reels are some of my favorite fishing reels. This 2021 Shimano Antares DC is a special reel. It's the best Shimano offers for bass fishing. The Antares Dc, because of its price may not be for everyone. Once you get this reel in your hand, made in Japan, the quality and craftsmanship that goes into a reel like this makes its cost understandable. It's truly a gem to fish. Super smooth, the weight is perfect. The size is also dead on. I actually had one of these older models in the past, I never fished and sold it what a mistake. A price tag isn't going to guarantee you a fish, but it will make the experience better, and the reel will last you a lifetime!

I have a Antares mdhg 23. Was expensive but worth every. Cent. Just wish I had an English manual for it.

Man I just got mine in today. After looking it over really good and playing with it. It kinda feels cheap. Like where the line guid is. Feels like thin plastic. Unless that’s to reduce weight.
It has held up fine for me and I've got some fish on it! Pair it with a light rod, once it's on it will feel fine. I have one on my G Loomis NRX and the other on a Shimano Expride.

im getting mine in a few months when i have the money would you recomend it? I would pair it with the googan all purpose medium heavy 7'0 ft fast with j braid multicolor.
Awesome, I love the Googan line. As far as recommending it, I don't know yet. I want some more time with it, and this may not be a reel for everyone based on budget. I do think the reel is worth it, if its affordable for you. So I think its one of them things that depends on what keeps fishing fun for you. For me these type of things do. I like the reel so far, anything that can give me an advantage, and keeps fishing simple i'm down for. As far as the reel goes, Its not something you need to catch fish. If you want the best of the best, I feel like this is it. Also if you want something thats gonna last a life time this is the reel. For me, I had to see whats its all about. Its just one of them things you gotta try, you can always sell it if its not what you thought it would be. Sometimes it takes me some time to figure that out. I hoped that helped you, the reel is super fun to fish with. It casts good. Its also feels really good in the hand. Its super smooth as well, it also feels light. Don’t disrespect that reel putting it on such a trash rod. Get a higher end Shimano rod.

Do you have to adjust the spool tension at all for the new reel?
No, it comes out of the box already set. From what I understand Shimano doesn't want people to have to adjust it. There is a tool that comes in the box if you need to. So it won't move and get unadjusted by itself neither.

I've moved mine with my thumb. It doesn't hurt. They basically just minimize side to side play from factory.

Where did you buy the reel from? Because I'm definitely going to get one.
I got mine on eBay. Check some of the JDM fishing sites though you might be able to find it cheaper there. The only thing you gotta watch on both ends is the shipping time.
Digitaka is selling them for like 480$
BAss Tokyo has then for $449. Just got mine
