1:15 I absolutely LOVE that left hand melody and how he exposes it through the right hand. Amazing!

His playing is insanely controlled might be one of the best performances of this etude because of how controlled his dynamics and tempo is

I think this is the most difficult piece among the whole Chopin's etudes.

@@greenapple306 I play all of those etudes, and I can tell you that there aren't absolutes here because all of that depends on the actual person and what their specific technique issues are. In my case, op 10 no 2 was harder for me than this etude, though not by much.

He captures the MOOD of nocturnal mystery in the remarkably good performance. I've always felt it was like sitting on a terrace in the moonlight watching lunar moths flit about while below a jeweled python writhes and curls itself -- almost lazily -- on the stones beneath. Although it requires the most highly developed technique this strange and wonderful work is not meant to be a display piec e for an incisively brilliant technique. It's essence is SUBTLE -- almost EERIE --, and Eric Liu capturs THAT better than anyone else I've ever heard -- and I've learnt it, myself, worked on it for decades, and heard HUNDREDS perform it wth ease and fluency, but THIS is very special. Eric Liu seems destned for greatness. He is a true ARTIST not merely a virtuoso. God bless you, Eric. I wish you much success and happiness.

If you play Chopin 25.6 then explain why he plays A natural in measure 7 in the trill. I play it too but that's not how the music is written. It's sharp.

Depends on what kind of hands you have but it's definetly considered top 4 and arguably top 3. Op10 no 2 Op10 no 1 this etude and Op 25 no 11 are considered the hardest.

@@em8714 Op.25 no. 11 is not as hard as you think. The other three are more mind blowing than that one. Op. 25 no. 11 otherwise referred as Winter Wind is personally comfortable to my fingers and is quite easy to play as a result.
