Hi Harsha For me one of the highlight was how K.L Rahul played as a opener. He was near perfect in both the innings. Played high quality stuff. He does not get the credit he deserves. He laid the foundation in second innings and shepherded Jaiswal through tough times. He has been playing for 10 years but does not have a fixed spot. Bumrah and Jaiwal of course were outstanding. K.L should continue to open and should not be disturbed from the position.

Yes, Rohit's defence is non-existent for long now it seems, he's been a T20 player this whole year, even though he's retired from that format. He should be the one changing his batting order this time, maybe at 3 in Padikal's place or at 6. And dare I say, make Bumrah the captain for the whole series now.

His criticism starts after failing continuously, no doubt he played good and he was appreciated throughout the day 1 and 2 but there were others who played better than him so they are talked more.
Even Pant and Reddy showed resilliance in 1st innings, Reddy actually performed in both innings and with ball also.
Idk where you get this top 3 idea from.
Even Kohli's 100 is not in top 3
1st is bumrah, 2nd Jaiswal, then Nitish Reddy, then kohli
When kohli was playing, it was again with new ball with 2-3 continuous wickets, and with the 3rd day, pitch was started to showing cracks so it was again difficult and with that 100 Australia was completely out because if there India has suffered a collapse target would be around 350 not 534.

I have been following Virat's game since 2013 and I remember all his good phases like in 2013-2014, 2016-2019 but after 2014, this has been the first year where he has again found his boundary hitting mojo back against spinners as he is constantly playing sweep, slog sweep, reverse sweep at times, cut shot, coming down the wicket to spinners and most of these shots had almost disappeared from his game in last 3-4 years but right from start of this year, he has started to play those again plus has added backfoot aerial shots to his game against fast bowlers too.

Winning in Australia is never easy, but to do so with such authority makes it even more special. While the players deserve all the accolades, the selectors & team management also need to be applauded. They seemed to have learned from the disappointment in New Zealand & ensured the team arrived here hungry, focused, and ready to fight. This wasn’t just a response..it was a statement. Jaiswal’s patient knock, KL Rahul’s calm presence, and Kohli finding his rhythm again were all key moments. And Bumrah? He was just doing what Bumrah does best..delivering under pressure. Nitish Rana, Harshit Rana, & Siraj also played their roles perfectly, ensuring the bowling unit outclassed a strong Australian batting line-up. This win also reminds us how much this rivalry has changed over the years. Before that iconic Eden Gardens Test in 2001, Australia dominated India, leading the head-to-head 30-11. But Laxman & Dravid turned that game, & perhaps the entire rivalry, on its head. Since then, India has taken control, winning 22 of the next 37 matches. It’s similar to the impact of Miandad’s Sharjah six on India-Pakistan rivalry. That moment gave Pakistan the upper hand for years. For India-Australia, the Eden Gardens Test in 2001 was a turning point, giving India the belief to consistently challenge, & often overcome, one of the strongest teams in the world....

Big fan sir! And one thing that always stayed with you over the years is your balanced yet true pov but felt in thumbnail Jaiswal was more apt fit alongside Bumrah. Batted in difficult times and made it easier for batters to come alongside Rahul. I am sure you would have appreciated him in this video with all adjectives so let me begin with video 🙂Big fan always!!

I am happy with everything that happened at home. We went to Australia and proved what we are actually capable of. I also think that now Rohit has to prove himself by sealing the series 4-0 so that we can make it to the WTC finals. However, I also want to say that the seniors should play selfless cricket. When I say this, I mean that I want Rohit Sharma to play lower in the batting order and allow KL Rahul to continue opening for the team.

Always felt that Indian pace bowlers have the skill to take wickets and contain, but skill on demand ...wow .kudos to jasprit bumrah and the pace battery, not a minute respite for the opposition. His actions were synonymous with that " For 60 overs they should feel hell out there." What a way they performed, not to forget the contributions by Nitish Reddy and KL Rahul. Yet again another performance just went like WOW..NOW 'look at me' from young jaiswal . Something tells me he's worked on the mental side of things a bit more which is great for a nascent career yet to see some lean periods, and yet you marvel at the skill, temperament and hunger in him. The team had a great day on the field but remember it's a long series, a vocal crowd will be a touch more difficult to handle. Yet have faith the team has shown enough to back up its efforts with some serious performance. On to the next one

This win was because of bumrahh but we or the experts shouldn't ignore KL Rahul's brilliance and the way he was litterally playing the role of pujara i wud say !! Opening partnership was the key and rahul even helped jaiswal to stay calm !! You Harsha atleast shouldn't have ignored KL !

Jasprit Bumrah is special!!He has that aura around him now like what McGrath had like Steyn had like Wasim had!!He is the best fast bowler India has ever produced also surpassing the legend Kapil Dev!!I hope Bumrah plays for India for next 5 years atleast!!He is a champion bowler who will go down as the GOAT of Indian fast bowling!!

    • @evilotis01
      @evilotis01 Месяц назад

he reminds me of Wasim Akram a bit: he comes in off a short run, he generates deceptive pace and seems to get the ball to spit up off the pitch, he can swing the ball both ways and move it both ways off the seam--and more than anything, batsmen just seem to hate facing him. that ball that got Marnus in the second innings--he had noooooo idea where it was going. it's rare you see top class batsmen so utterly bewildered. he's a hell of a bowler and you're right, he may well end up as the very best India has ever produced.

India in a tough spot wrt to Rohit coming in as a batter and captain. KL Rahul and Jaiswal fit the best for the openers slot and Jasprit has been brilliant as a captain. Rohit will be in a tough spot if he loses the next test match and doesn’t perform !

There's something behind Virat Kohli that's keeping him from being agreesive. Maybe it's Anushka, because in relationship you can't be agreesive but it severely impacts his game.

You say "India looked for quick runs" ?????
I wish Pant showed some maturity in his batting. In the 1st innings, one can understand the pitch was quite difficult and so he was adventerous. However, in the 2nd innings, the situation demanded that he stay put at the crease to help his team build a huge lead given there was lot of time left in the test match. Instead he threw his wicket away and suddenly the score was 321 /5. Had a few more wickets fallen, India would have struggled to reach 400 runs and that could have given the Aussies some hope of a victory. Thankfully Virat and Washington held it together to take it beyond Australia's reach.
The opening partnership of Jaiswal and Rahul set the tone and derserves full praise followed by Virat and Washington.

The way Virat was is what made Virat. He can be all statesmanlike and mentor figure doing the right thing and saying the right things and not to your face but that is not what made him King Kohli. There was a time when Kohli came out to bat you felt anything is possible that Kohli is not there anymore because he has mellowed down and so has his anger and so has his hunger.

Indian lineup for game 2 is going to be a headache especially the top order. Jurel will make way for Gill. But the position for KL needs to be fixed, he is inconsistent because he isn't sorted with a proper position. He is definitely someone who should be given more chances than Rohit to get his stats aligned to his potential. Sundar needs to be retained. Kohli can be pushed to 5 if wickets fall in clumps at the start.
    My lineup would be,
    Rohit
    Jaiswal
    Gill
    KL
    Virat
    Pant
    Nitish
    Sundar
    Bumrah
    Siraj
    Rana
Atleast for the pink ball test at Adelaide.
