  • Nuclear Engineering is one of the most difficult undergraduate programs you can enroll in. In this video I share every single course that you will take in the entire program. I also rank these courses to give you insight into the challenges you will encounter throughout the program. This is a very good resource if you are looking at studying Nuclear Engineering or if you're in another field looking to work in the nuclear energy industry.

    This video took me back to reminiscing my undergraduate days in nuclear engg, it accurately captures how I felt about each of these courses!
    Back then, I remember being pretty much clueless about the purpose of studying these difficult courses. But now in my trajectory of getting a graduate degree, I couldn't be grateful enough for all the acquired knowledge.

      Great to know you had a positive experience taking the Nuclear Engineering undergrad course! Is the course similar in Indian Universities? What additional courses do you guys take, curious :)

      @@OsamaBaig Ya I'm in my first year of undergrade nuclear engineering. I didn't know that engineering design and calculus 2 would be that high up on the list. I might switch more of my effort into achieving more in those courses for the second semester as they seem kind of new and different.

    Damn! What a comprehensive list and examination of a nuclear educational program. Very daunting, but reassuring nonetheless. It speaks to how the future of nuclear power isn't left to the fumbling hands of Homer Simpson like characters 😉

    I got my Diploma at the Algonquin College in 2021 in the Applied Nuclear Science and Radiation Safety, I am now looking forward to transfer these courses in my B.Eng Degree (Chemical Engineering) at UNB, that simply makes it a Nuclear Engineering Degree. Most courses you mentioned are just the core of Nuclear Sciences, we start with understanding the science behind it, then understand the processes to initiate, control and benefit from the reaction, all courses are simply interrelated and essential, one recommendation for students in Nuclear field is basically to always be conscious of regulations, a single regulatory concern can be a reason for the shutdown of the process or operation, every country has slightly different rules, but most are under IAEA's domain. In Canada we have CNSC that regulates the industry.

    I have a suggestion for content for nuclear noobs: reviewing nuclear disasters, exam how they went wrong, what we learned from them and how we guard against those mistakes.
    I know that would run counter to your optimistic education, but a comprehensive history of progress can give a person better appreciation for the field.

    What was the requirements to get into nuc eng in Ontario? Im at Thomas Edison State University located in New Jersey for Nuclear Energy Engineering and im in 3rd year.

    • @OsamaBaig
      @OsamaBaig  Год назад +1

      Requirements are pretty easy, I think its around a 75% average out of highschool. However if you are transfering from another University, there might be different requirements. I recommend reaching out to the University, I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult. Plus I think the faculty would welcome you!
