- Nuclear Engineering is one of the most difficult undergraduate programs you can enroll in. In this video I share every single course that you will take in the entire program. I also rank these courses to give you insight into the challenges you will encounter throughout the program. This is a very good resource if you are looking at studying Nuclear Engineering or if you're in another field looking to work in the nuclear energy industry.

This video took me back to reminiscing my undergraduate days in nuclear engg, it accurately captures how I felt about each of these courses!
Back then, I remember being pretty much clueless about the purpose of studying these difficult courses. But now in my trajectory of getting a graduate degree, I couldn't be grateful enough for all the acquired knowledge.
Great to know you had a positive experience taking the Nuclear Engineering undergrad course! Is the course similar in Indian Universities? What additional courses do you guys take, curious :)
Amazing video bro, this really helped me to see what courses I need to spend more time on. Keep uploading these kinds of videos
Its my absolute pleasure Ahsan! Curious, are you in high school or already in an Undergrad Nuclear Engineering program? Also, what are your key takeaways. Are there courses you are looking to dedicate more time toward after watching this video
@@OsamaBaig Ya I'm in my first year of undergrade nuclear engineering. I didn't know that engineering design and calculus 2 would be that high up on the list. I might switch more of my effort into achieving more in those courses for the second semester as they seem kind of new and different.
Great video once again, as a first-year nuc eng this really gave me knowledge on course difficulties!
Wonderful! I Really wish I had something like this in first year. I would be a game changer! As a first year Nuclear engineering student what are your general thoughts after watching this entire video? Are there specific courses in the upper years that interest you
@@OsamaBaig definitely corrosion for engineers seems to interest me because I learned corrosion is a issue we face in the industry!
I REALLY love your videos, they are so much inspiring. Please keep making these great vids!!
Thanks so much Sheikh! Appreciate your time watching these videos. Any recommendations on future topics you would like to see?
@@OsamaBaig I just want to know more about Nuclear Physics and Nuclear Engineering because I want to be a Nuclear Engineer :)) like you, hopefully one day !!
I am currently in college. I am interested in nuclear engineering. It would be awesome for a nuclear engineering grad to go through what I will face if I choose this path. Thanks Osama
that Rode mic is obnoxious lol 😭
love your channel, thank you
I know, got to find a way to hide it lol ! (Open to suggestions). Appreciate your comment though!
Damn! What a comprehensive list and examination of a nuclear educational program. Very daunting, but reassuring nonetheless. It speaks to how the future of nuclear power isn't left to the fumbling hands of Homer Simpson like characters 😉
Absolutely! Happy you see it that way James! Thanks so much for your support
I got my Diploma at the Algonquin College in 2021 in the Applied Nuclear Science and Radiation Safety, I am now looking forward to transfer these courses in my B.Eng Degree (Chemical Engineering) at UNB, that simply makes it a Nuclear Engineering Degree. Most courses you mentioned are just the core of Nuclear Sciences, we start with understanding the science behind it, then understand the processes to initiate, control and benefit from the reaction, all courses are simply interrelated and essential, one recommendation for students in Nuclear field is basically to always be conscious of regulations, a single regulatory concern can be a reason for the shutdown of the process or operation, every country has slightly different rules, but most are under IAEA's domain. In Canada we have CNSC that regulates the industry.
Appreciate the input and recommendations @realzeelink
@@OsamaBaig I actually was thrilled to see your blog, there are not many on this subject within Canada, yet we hold the legacy. Nice to meet you and will keep in touch!
Sir please suggest a book which is based on flow induced vibration in the fuel bundle, for a engineering student
I have a suggestion for content for nuclear noobs: reviewing nuclear disasters, exam how they went wrong, what we learned from them and how we guard against those mistakes.
I know that would run counter to your optimistic education, but a comprehensive history of progress can give a person better appreciation for the field.
James thats a super good recommendation! Thanks so much for that comment
What was the requirements to get into nuc eng in Ontario? Im at Thomas Edison State University located in New Jersey for Nuclear Energy Engineering and im in 3rd year.
Requirements are pretty easy, I think its around a 75% average out of highschool. However if you are transfering from another University, there might be different requirements. I recommend reaching out to the University, I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult. Plus I think the faculty would welcome you!
I am doing nuclear engineering from pisa, italy. I need help in Nuclear Reactor physics and Nuclear Thermal hydraulics
That's great to know Wasilahmed2101, there might be some good textbooks that you can reference. I know there was an amazing one I use to check out all the time at my university library, let me see if I can get a name for you
I have an undergrad in mechanical. How hard would it be for me to go into a masters in nuclear eng?
Not very hard, you may need to have the right GPA. Also depends on if you want to pursue a course based masters or a research based one. I recommend checking out my podcasts, as I feature professors who you can reach out to @goingnuclearwithosamabaig
I can't say Osama is a good name for nuclear stuffs 😂
🤔
Is it just me or did a lot of those go: "It's not too easy, it's not too hard. I give it an A."
Me: ?!?! That's the second hardest ranking though?
The A rank are very technically challenging as well as demanding course load. They are very challenging ones for most students. Sorry if I made them seem sound easier ninefox
@@OsamaBaig no worries I just experienced a little whiplash. Very useful video 👍
