Hey Paul, I had a camera strap like yours way back in the late 1970s or early 80’s. Good stuff. I’ve never seen that film issue you experienced either very strange indeed! Another top Video 😎I’m absolutely amazed viewing your awesome pictures, both the BMW film pictures and the ones from the Leica Q2 fantastic work. 👍
Cheers mate yeah those straps we used to wear similar things called snake belts the strap reminds me of them. The film issue that all I can think that the film was advanced too far without it stopping at next frame and it took me a lot of head scratching to come up with that theory. Appreciate the comments mate cheers
Hi Paul, fun stuff as always. Some of those old TLR's are very prone to lens flare. If the one you're using here is a keeper maybe pick up one of those 3D printed hoods for the taking lens? I picked up one for an old Rolleicord I use occasionally and it makes a big difference, plus they're very cheap, usually around $15 or so?
@@thewildgoose7467 awesome info about the lens hood mate I'll search one out cheers. It's a good wee camera for me it's the angle of view that I enjoy looking through the WLF gives a whole new perspective. I have a couple of Rollei on watchlist on a local site a cord and a flex both in great condition and serviced both with flare hoods......but I'm trying to stop buying kit haha it's a hard habit to try break but if I get this one last camera I'll be fine because I can can stop anytime I want...mine is a minor painless addiction I can't imagine how folk with serious addictions cope.
@@paultaylorphotography9499 Ha ha, I know the feeling well I had way, way, WAY too much camera gear, if I told you how much it'd make your head spin 😵💫. Over the last couple of years I've gotten rid of a large portion and now it's much more manageable. I converted what I sold into a little gold and silver which is something I think everyone should have a bit of the way things are heading?
Aires made a half dozen variations of the Airesflex from 1950 to the later '50s. Lke their 35mm RF models, they were basic designs, few features, reasonably well-made. Nothing special about them, except for one modol in the 1951-53 period, which Aires mounted with a NIkon made lens for part of the run. There are numerous variations because Aires used a variety of shutters and lenses from other makers, whatever they could source at the time. Except for the Nikor equipped units, which are a true collectible now, they should be fairly inexpensive, lower priced and more capable than a Yashicamat.

We used to call that strap a Hippy Strap!
Haha yeah I'd not heard that term since I was a kid I remember all guitar players had them
