Im using the American dream work out plan. Was out for a whole year because of physical therapy. Got my green light fromy therapist to start again. Testing myself and getting into a comfortable weight and writing everything down. Cant wait to see when the 10 months finish.
100% agree tbh everyone has the routine that works for them to get them where they wanna be since everyone's bodies and minds are different but constantly shifting like u said doesn't let you get enough results to truly determine if the routine is right for you experimentation is fine but u need to get the data first instead of constantly switching (long time fan been watching you since i was in high school when i did wrestling and cross country love your content and the message u spread)

@@JaxBlade and interestingly enough, I was thinking about this topic myself. Paralysis Broken! I'm late to the party, but what helped me was i chagned gym membership. And when i swot hed gyms, i had a personal trainer. And he help keep me motivated and accountable, even during days he wasnt training. He helped give me that extra push to do what i needed to do on my own!💯💪🏾💪🏾
Paralysis Broken. For about a year I had been doing an upper body focus and a lower body focus. This would alternate from front body focused like chest and biceps then the next day legs and the following day back and triceps excreta. If my legs were too sore I would focus on Abs and cardio then go to chest the next day. Part of the focus was to work on getting to the gym five days a week and to make sure I am enjoying the gym and having fun. Since i go by feel instead of keeping accurate tracking. That is one area i have been working on. I typically encourage my friends to work on enjoying going to the gym and then once they get in the grove they can focus on having a good fitness program or plan. As always great videos.
One of the most amusing things about weight loss plans in particular is how rarely I'll actually see people talk about caloric intake. I'll hear stuff about needing to change what you eat, but I don't feel like I hear much about simply cutting back on how much you eat. I struggle personally with keeping to different regimens, but the one thing that's had the best effect is always simple portion control and learning that it's okay to be hungry at times and not always eat when you feel the urge.
Hey, jaxblade. I've been watching your videos for a while now, though I rarely comment on them. But this really stuck a cord with me. I recently set up a sustainable eating plan (not a diet) and a workout plan that focuses on mobility, range of motion, and some strength training to keep it spicy. I'm doing this because both my GF and I have issues with mobility and would like to lose some weight. This isn't the first time I've attempted to be healthier, but the constant stream of "advice" and misinformation always stomped down any hint of ambition before I really started. Videos like yours that actually talk about things with transparency and legitimate knowledge are so desperately needed, especially for people who cycle through short-term diets and workouts, and their mental and physical take a hit as a result. So, thank you for being for being you and making the videos that you do. ParalysisBroken.
“Paralysisbroken” I suffered from this back before when I was trying to get into fitness. Looking at a bunch of videos and tips of what exercises to do and how to eat, then seeing conflicting advice. After taking a step back and figuring out what I want personally I’ve actually started consistently putting in work. Still just staring so trying to balance the “three leg stool” but it’s actually fun now.
What worked for me is just treating it as a hobby and just grinding it out rather than having specific expectations. Always learn more, keep doing what works and slowly implement things that might be more optimal. Trying new stuff is always great but abandoning the last thing and jumping on a new bandwagon is a great way to demotivate yourself.
I actually had two paralysis broken moments this year. The brakes on my bike wore out, and i ended up switching my commute to a mile and a half walk with 20-30 lbs in my backpack. It pushed my cardio over a plateau, but left me getting no extra gains otherwise. The next was when i finally started to actually track my nutrition, and it turns out that most of what I needed to fix was adding more protein calories. That seems to have unlocked the gains that I've been working for. I didn't really pay much attention to my health until a few years ago, and your basic plans have helped me to figure out what works with my injuries and my body. You also helped me to realize that it's not about getting a specific body, just getting my body able to handle whatever I want to throw at it. Thanks, so much.
the training log is definitely a good tip. ive been using them for about a year or so and theyre something that really helped me step up my game. i dont take notes on things like how i feel or anything like that, but i found it helped to even just track the numbers. like for example my sets and reps. it helped me by giving me a frame of reference for what i need to beat each session. my goal is always to take it as close to failure as i can safely take it, and to either add reps or weight every session. my progress has been much smoother since i started doing this.
Makes me think we need to spend more time trying to figure out what means most to us and program our training for that. Also, Motivational Interviewing is awesome!
Paralysis broken This videos timing is weirdly perfect for me. For a while, i stuck with doing a combo of weight and calisthenics to burn fat, and once in a while, i do some benchpress with my dad and try to go to max weight till failure. But recently, I started doing metronome and heavy sets to bulk, and I was wondering if i was messing up or wasting time. But this video made me remember that I need to understand myself better and keep tests and push myself.
Pushups, crunches, and squats were my routine when I was in my best shape. I now know that I needed some rear delt and back work to balance it out (thanks, Jax), but I was consistent, and it definitely showed!
I know exactly how you feel about Rambo, had to put my dog to rest 2 weeks ago and i had her for 15yrs. Trying to go back to normal after that has been impossible and i just took a month off training to spend as much time as I could before the cancer took her and it’s been absurdly hard.
I remember at the beginning of the summer I started lift weight via barbell. My dad wanted to use the weights he used to lift. But my left arm was a bit weak so I wanted to build on the arm better so I can used the same weight. So I needed to train smartly on the weight I need to train on better. Great video analysis man
Thank you Jax this came at a good time bc I have also been struggling to get myself back into fitness. Not bc I’m struggling just been busy and the neuropathways are just not neuropathing rn. But I will go on a run tomorrow. But your words cut deep and I just wanna say thank you. For this video ofc but really for everything Keep being yourself please Godspeed sensei🫡
ParalysisBroken! You inspire the hell out of me man. It's actually kinda funny, I recently got a notebook I wasn't using much. Now I know what to use it on! My 8 weeks start NOW! WE CAN DO IT!!
What really helped me was the realisation that I will never be consistent with a work out shedul. I have slumps, every few month work gets in the way and if I don't switch around and follow my interest I will lose all interest in exercising. So I gave up trying to really nail down one typ of training and instead go with the flow. If I feel like climbing, I climb. If I want to box, I box. If I want to run, I go for a run. And if I want to go weight lifting, I do that. It also meant, if I ever want to lose weight, I can't rely on a consistent training regime, so that actually gave me the motivation to fix some of my eating habits. So now I have a very consistent diet that work with whatever training I decide to to. So, what broke my paralysis was finding out which things I can keep fixed (my diet and mostly the training days) and what needs to stay flexible (the type of exercise) to work for me. I'll probably never be super athletic, muscular or lean, but I've been making good progress with getting to a more healthy weight and exercising regularly and that's really all I want.
Hey man, just commenting to say that I really enjoy your channel, you give such positive vibes with whatever you do, it’s always a joy to watch your videos.

Paralysisbroken I grew up doing martial arts. I've been trying to get back into shape. I've been doing calisthenics, biking, kettlebell, battle ropes, and jump rope.
if you want me to be honest,i bought one of your routines to help me out of a rut 😅 it was the shinobi one i believe. i was real indecisive years ago with following free stuff but i saw this for cheap and sniped it. fast forward to now i'm trying to eat more(better) and see if that makes any difference. the muscle building workout is short enough for me to try and it feels like enough to be challenging!
You're right. It's Iron Man time; " Get ready for a major remodel fellas, we're back in hardware mode!" ParalysisBroken no more. I will return to my love, martial arts. I will scan my martial journal for the 15 years of training I have poured into it, and let it help inspire me to fill its remaining pages with even greater truths revealed through my efforts.
Parylisis broken. What always helps for me Is keeping a journal with a couple of friends that have been working out for a long Time, sharin each others progress Is motivating and supportive
Taichi got me ripped- not that stuff you see in the parks, real tai chi that enhances my physiology and makes me feel Super Saiyan! But it might not be for everyone, so I want to encourage the brothers [and sisters] who are on their own journeys!
I decided to work on my handstand again. And i decided to do it in a training fashion for 90 days. I wrote a few core and handstand related exercises. Its mostly isometrics and wow after a 10 days my core got way better. My shoulders even increased in size. Ive also been doing finger tip holds. My forearms grew. For some reason it feels easier when im finger tip holding in a pike position. All and all its going great!
Progressive overload is one of the more (if not, most) important aspects of bodybuilding in general. If you keep excessively swapping exercises or training styles, it becomes almost impossible track progress if at all. For me, the game changer was chasing rep numbers of certain exercises week after week. Goal was 10 full body pull ups when I could barely do 1. Chasing that elusive 10 became like an actual game of highscores. By the time I was finally able to do 10, I got that V taper by consequence. So guys, stick to the plan, get your protein & make it a game of highscores. Trust the process & enjoy the thrill of the chase! Paralysis broken!
Paralysis broken. My main thing I tried to do daily is some push-ups and sit-ups, I fell behind when I started working and moving from house to house best slowly getting back into it after messing up my wrist around summer so I don't want to make it worse. I would be lying if I didn't say I'm feeling a little down not doing push-ups because of this but safety first.
Hey Bro Rip to your dog ,my cat passed away a few months back soo i feel you, also my herniated L5 got Inflamed and i couldn't work out for 2 weeks so im trying to get back in a Grove but im also slightly concerned about getting hurt again so ive been moving super slow.
true. i have chosen the carnivore diet with calisthenics over the last year i have lost 70 lbs and i can move so much easier, now im going to add in sprint training, i also want to get into jujitsu and muay thai
Thing is i get bored of routines really fast so making drastic changes helps me stay engaged and is far more enjoyable than just doing the same workouts for months. Although i will say that im really not all that sure what im doing yet.
If you’re not sure then that leads to lack of progress also a program doesnt mean doing the same exact workout every week, it modifies as it progresses but its still leading you to the goal. It be different if you went from bodybuilding to CrossFit lolll you stay consistent with a full program that adjusts as you progress I got some in my pinned comment like that
I did use notebooks last year when doing bodypump and pilates each week, worked better then i expected. Think i stopped used them when some mental stuff happened, even though i still kept doing the same routine just to get out of my mind.
paralysisbroken Personally this used to be an issue for me I wanted to do way too much at one time but sticking to the basics is how I got over it I picked a simple weightlifting program for building strength and muscle and cut calories my rule now is stick to solid principals and have two things max managed to lose over 5 stone while getting stronger Once Ive got the low hanging fruit Ill switch that to maintenance and get on with another challenge. As Bruce lee said "I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times"
@@JaxBlade your infotainment has certainly been a massive help you also got me into Baki and Primal not shows I would have given a chance otherwise so extremely grateful.
I feel like part of the problem is almost everyone online seems like a pro when you're inexperienced, yet there's too many "pro" opinions. Too much input. There comes a point in a field where there is more harm in picking up the "extra" stuff than just sticking to something simple until one can navigate the language of the subject
I get ParalysisBroken in basically all aspects of life. I'm in my early 40s now, I'd been doing well in calisthenics since the pandemic, but gotten heavy again after slacking off, then injuring my shoulders when I tried to pick back up again too quickly. I started doing kettlebell and heavy Club swinging and my instinct is to rush, but my body straight up tells me what I can and cannot handle, so slowly working up to higher reps and weights, and building up volume by slowly increasing sets has started to show results. It's maddeningly slow, but worth it for me. Turning into a turtle hermit, lol.
ParalysisBroken 9:58 I'm currently doing the Baki TLTT conditioning workout and feels really burnout. But I'll try to stay consistent for couple of months and hope that I get the result I want. Wish me luck 💪
Paralysisbroken…a body builder my cousin watches said only a few percentage of people will achieve there dream body…..I grew up with a fast metabolism so I ate a lot growing up and didn’t gain anything then I went to the marines trained over there but on my way back at 20 1/2 I lost that gift so I started dieting I was trying to do boxing but I was just heavily dieting and it was hard to train cuz of the lost energy cuz I didn’t eat healthy I just starved and lost the weight 3 times and had 4 spars after the military and for the last two years Iv basically been eating w.e and working out and felt alot stronger but now I’m going to combine working out and dieting and doing cardio which is different from doing both individually but it’s part of the process trial and error you keep doing your best and do it your way…. That’s why training for performance is so much healthier then looks cuz with looks you lose yourself
Paralysis broken The thing that helped me was calisthenics and fasting I lost the most weight in my life dropping from 260 to 175 and I looked great felt good but i wanted more muscle so I started bulging for a couple months now I’m back doing calisthenics and fasting so I can be more lean and muscular
Since last week, I started using my electronic jump-rope to get some cardio in. So far, the longest amount of time I could jump was around 2 and a half minutes, and the most jumps I could do in succession is 325 in a two-minute span. Also, since my dental appointments last month, I've been sticking to smaller meals whenever I can, to avoid hurting my gums. I think I lost about 7 pounds in the span of a month.

My main struggle is that I want to be stronger but I’m shit at diet and I feel how much it’s working against me so I try to compensate with the workout. Now I feel some pain in the shoulder and I’ve taken some weight back… Now I know that I need to move on and start doing some different things cuz being paralyzed and stuck just suck so much 😭😭😭 Thank you for keeping on inspiring me to be better Jax and also RIP to our Master Splinter 🙏🏾🕊️
Thank you for reminding me to keep being consistent with whatever I'm doing. I'm trying my best to improve my body (and trying to eat better to lower my cholesterol)
I'm keeping to watching your warm-up videos to keep me motivated
ParalysisBroken
Im using the American dream work out plan. Was out for a whole year because of physical therapy. Got my green light fromy therapist to start again. Testing myself and getting into a comfortable weight and writing everything down. Cant wait to see when the 10 months finish.
Thanks for this. I suffered the paralysis all spring and summer and my body went downhill. Gonna lock in for 8 weeks like ya said and see how it goes.
You got this!! 👑
ParalysisBroken
Your videos are so really informative and I really appreciate them.
Jax is a legend
🙏🏾
100% agree tbh everyone has the routine that works for them to get them where they wanna be since everyone's bodies and minds are different but constantly shifting like u said doesn't let you get enough results to truly determine if the routine is right for you experimentation is fine but u need to get the data first instead of constantly switching (long time fan been watching you since i was in high school when i did wrestling and cross country love your content and the message u spread)
Yessir & I appreciate the continued support King🙏🏾👑
Jax blade is the goat. Been watching for 10 years and I hope he’s around for another 10!!! Such an intelligent, strong and overall inspirational man!!!
You honor me with the kind words, thank you!
@@JaxBlade of course my man, any time :)
@@JaxBlade and interestingly enough, I was thinking about this topic myself. I was scrolling through RUclips Shorts on a bunch of fitness influencers and it made me realize that there’s so much info out there that it can get overwhelming.
Which is why it’s best to stick to one and feel your way through like you said. Just choose one and see how you respond over time and adjust accordingly. Again great content as always :)
Bro thank you for making this video, I've never heard anybody talk about but it makes so much sense
Paralysis Broken! I'm late to the party, but what helped me was i chagned gym membership. And when i swot hed gyms, i had a personal trainer. And he help keep me motivated and accountable, even during days he wasnt training. He helped give me that extra push to do what i needed to do on my own!💯💪🏾💪🏾
You're a huge inspiration and motivation for me, your vids are awesome and have a refreshing view on the fitness and life sphere
3:10 Huh, sorry did you say something just now? 👀
👀

“Paralysisbroken”
I suffered from this back before when I was trying to get into fitness.
Favorite channel tbh
You Honor me King, thank you
Makes me think we need to spend more time trying to figure out what means most to us and program our training for that. Also, Motivational Interviewing is awesome!
Consistency is KEYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Paralysis broken
This videos timing is weirdly perfect for me.
Great video analysis man
I feel incredibly called out.......do it again 😂 because youre right

So glad to see you upload and back on the grind! I also just got back into shape, started two months ago ^^
I do love a good Jax rant ❤️
Thank you Jax this came at a good time bc I have also been struggling to get myself back into fitness. Not bc I’m struggling just been busy and the neuropathways are just not neuropathing rn. But I will go on a run tomorrow. But your words cut deep and I just wanna say thank you. For this video ofc but really for everything
Keep being yourself please

#Paralysisisbroken Thank you for the reminder Jax's time to Booyah on!
Hey man, just commenting to say that I really enjoy your channel, you give such positive vibes with whatever you do, it’s always a joy to watch your videos.

@@JaxBlade I used to be really into working out a couple years ago then I might have burned myself out but I've always wanted to get back into how I used to work out but I feel either I lack motivation or get winded easily [ I also tend to overdue stuff so I'm out for longer than I wish to recover will also admit I don't eat nor drink the best but was wondering if I could ask for some help in some way if it's not too much to ask]
Paralysis Broken- the math part hit me. We're all hunting for an answer, the math doesn't matter...BOOYA!

I grew up doing martial arts. I've been trying to get back into shape. I've been doing calisthenics, biking, kettlebell, battle ropes, and jump rope.
i can relate too much (Paralysis Broken)
Great video again(Paralysis broken)
if you want me to be honest,i bought one of your routines to help me out of a rut 😅 it was the shinobi one i believe. i was real indecisive years ago with following free stuff but i saw this for cheap and sniped it.
fast forward to now i'm trying to eat more(better) and see if that makes any difference. the muscle building workout is short enough for me to try and it feels like enough to be challenging!
I came from 17 years ago video to your channel

By 1:33 bro turned my inner dialogue into a bullet point for is video lol. Mad funny and mad true 😂
Rock on man
Hey Bro Rip to your dog ,my cat passed away a few months back soo i feel you, also my herniated L5 got Inflamed and i couldn't work out for 2 weeks so im trying to get back in a Grove but im also slightly concerned about getting hurt again so ive been moving super slow.
true. i have chosen the carnivore diet with calisthenics over the last year i have lost 70 lbs and i can move so much easier, now im going to add in sprint training, i also want to get into jujitsu and muay thai
3:10 Must stay focused, must stay focused🫣
ParalysisBroken
Thing is i get bored of routines really fast so making drastic changes helps me stay engaged and is far more enjoyable than just doing the same workouts for months. Although i will say that im really not all that sure what im doing yet.
If you’re not sure then that leads to lack of progress also a program doesnt mean doing the same exact workout every week, it modifies as it progresses but its still leading you to the goal. It be different if you went from bodybuilding to CrossFit lolll you stay consistent with a full program that adjusts as you progress I got some in my pinned comment like that
Quality video!
ParalysisBroken
Nothing has really "worked" for me yet. I'm still on my journey. I get into it and then lose it. So it's a fight!
Thats what Im here for, Check any of my playlists or the pinned comment that can help you get locked in, but you got this!
DAMN STRAIGHT!! AND GOOD ON YA KING! Thats Awesome
Yuppp that’s why I’m here to help & cut the BS for people cuz it’s sadly overwhelming
Paralysis Broken. Boo-yah 💪🏼🤓
...this is me there is always somthing interesting to try but you are right cant half ass it
I used to be THE SAME WAY!! But I'm telling you, if you lock in the results are so much better than hopping around bit by bit
Hey Jax!! You know our favorite time of the year is coming. Will you do I revised or updated version of your month of Halloween series?
Ill think about it haha
4:20 Cobra kai ost?!! Jax please make a video on cobra kai 🙏🏻🙏🏻
The Spongebob music transitioning to Naruto music was oddly inspiring. 😂
ParalysisBroken 9:58
I'm currently doing the Baki TLTT conditioning workout and feels really burnout.
Paralysis broken
The thing that helped me was calisthenics and fasting I lost the most weight in my life dropping from 260 to 175 and I looked great felt good but i wanted more muscle so I started bulging for a couple months now I’m back doing calisthenics and fasting so I can be more lean and muscular
Paralysis Broken, it help me make my trainings more simple
