My favourite piece of trivia to do with the show concerns where they got Frank's nickname from. Larry Linville himself suggested it. They were trying to think of something insulting and he said, "In high school they used to call me "Ferret Face." By all accounts he was a lovely man.
That's why I was shocked when the narrator said, "Larry was not only a hater in the show but also in real life." WTF? He was an amazing comedic actor who was so good you hated him even thought you laughed at him.
I never knew that about Mr. Linville, but I enjoyed his work on M*A*S*H. It's just a shame the way Hollywood "typecast" him, and never allowed him to grow as an Actor!
I have seen that episode so many times, yet it always gets me in tears. Having seen a doco on the show that came out in the last year or so, and finding out the writers never told the cast about what they were doing to Henry's character until the very last minute when they got the scripts AFTER they shot the scenes saying goodbye to Henry, that just makes the moment all the more powerful.
You missed my favourite MASH character Colonel Flag of the CIA played by Larry Winter I think, a laugh a minute MASH, thank you to all the cast for delivering such laughter.
Where did the time go? Yesterday, I was lying on the floor in front of our console TV, watching this show with my family. I was just a young kid. I see their faces now, and I am like, HOW CAN THIS BE? Then I look at mine, and I am like, "Oh yeah!" I am a grandmother now and not such a spring chicken myself. Time passes too quickly. They have all aged beautifully. I miss those days! What a wonderful show. I will never forget the finale. I cried my eyes out!

Narrator got some facts wrong (obviously never saw the show) but it was cool to see all these incredible characters. MASH means a lot to me, especially the Xmas episode where they turn the hands back so the soldier doesn't die on Xmas and Charles learns an amazing lesson about jumping to conclusions and has the best apology ever written.
My favorite show. I was a teenager at the time. I protested against the war so this show ment alot to me. I loved the characters and that was due to the marvelous actors. I grieve for those who have gone before me and rejoice in those still with us. May God bless them all and all service men and women. ❤❤❤
Granted I was a child at the time but I don’t remember any protests against the Korean War, I remember many protest about Vietnam though, that was a time when brother against brother and father against child. Very sad time in our history, my dad had been a marine since before Korea and when he came from Vietnam he was so sad about the turn the nation had taken.
@@brendashoun9859 I was in old ed in protesting Vietnam. On Campuses and around bases. Radar wasn't sneaky!! He tried to explain to the Col. Blake character on multiple occasions what he was signing and initiating. Which was Army red tape bizzarness!! PLEASE.... Listen to you sound mix before publishing. Specifically the balance between the narrators voice and the background music. Your music level is way too loud. And such repetitive music tracks are proven to turn viewers off and cause early closing of videos.
4:40 It is Odessa Cleveland not Orissa like it says on the screen. Gary Burghoff really played the drums on an episode of MASH. In 1968 he was a drummer in a band called The Relatives which featured Lynda Carter as lead singer.
There should be a television Hall of Fame. Definitely MASH is a Top 5 level. Mid way into the series it got political and didn't try to bring in new characters or get correspondence from old characters. Like a film reel from Frank burns, or a letter from radar mentioning children. Maybe a gag letter from one of hawkeye's nurses he dated calling him papa...

One of the saddest episodes was when Charles rehearsed the Korean impromptu musicians over and over until they could play the Mozart piece perfectly. ÌWhile they were leaving, in the back of a pickup truck, playing, a North Korean bomb exploded, killing them all. I was shocked. But then that was what war was really like.
@@hollyfinkbeiner6009 Which made it all the more poignant!!! I cry each time. Charles lost his love of music to soothe his mind. In real life David Ogden Stiers became an Orchestra conductor. I love the show more as the characters got away from the three stooges comedy to natural humor between people and their competition for pranks!! It was characters developing, thus more meaningful to the audience. That's why it hurt so much as each has passed. They became our friends!!
A couple of fun facts. Gary Burghoff was the only actor to appear in both the movie and the TV show. The series lasted 8 years longer than the war itself. The show lasted 11 years while the war only lasted 3.
Why the clickbait photo? You know it's not real. Any fan of the show would know what most of these actors look like now. Good video but click baiting should be a thing of the past. It's beyond being over used.
Shame on you for using a clickbait thumbnail of photoshopped images of the actors. Using such iconic actors likeness in the pursuit of monetary gains is just despicable…

I liked seeing Wayne Rogers on Murder She Wrote on a couple occasions. He was such a talented actor. The same can be said about William Christopher in his role as Fr Mulchahy.
Loretta Swit still looks great!
Love MASH 4077, and all the actors...😊 May God Bless all😇😇🙏🙏🙏
Loved Harry Morgan in Dragnet!
If you notice Harry Morgan is Dragnet, Jack Webb forced him to be as boring and wooden as Jack Webb was, in Mash, Harry Morgan was allowed to be himself.
I want I watch Mash every single morning 😄🌅
It Was One Of My Favorites As A Kid .
STILL WATCH THIS SHOW.
I'm still watching the show MASH on digital TV in 2023 ♥️🇺🇸🙏‼️
My word, can it really be 40 years since MASH ended?
great show
Loved this series
He forgot John Schuck, who played Painless, the dentist. He was in his own series. He was in MSW and Diagnosis Murder.
One of the best movies ever
Larry Ferret face was my fave!
He was the weakest character. Winchester redeemed the show.
This is still my favorite sitcom.
They are all great actors, leave the best memories to us 🥺💖🙏

Love the still picture for this one. 😂😂😂😂😂
Love them all love from Canada
When the series came out in DVD, I bought all eleven seasons. (Can't break up a set!)
When "there's nothing on TV," I turn to my DVDs, and although I have others, M*A*S*H is my favorite!
Hard to Imagine that only Alan Alda, Loretta Swit, Gary Burghoff, Mike Farrell and Jamie Farr are the only ones still alive
Swit passed away last year.
Loretta Swit is alive indeed! Sally Kellerman is the one who died in 2022.She played Margaret Houlihan in MASH movie from 1970.
Yes you are right🥹🥹💖, but they leave best memories to us.

Crap! Where did you get that idea??????@@cb2000a
@@cb2000aLoretta Swit is still alive at age 86 and be 87 years old in November this year
. .We Love Jamie.
and Lebonesse..
PLEASE.... Listen to you sound mix before publishing. Specifically the balance between the narrators voice and the background music. Your music level is way too loud. And such repetitive music tracks are proven to turn viewers off and cause early closing of videos.
Colonel Flagg was the funniest character on MASH.
Missed Colonel Flagg and Dr. Sydney Friedman the psychiatrist!
Hope you enjoy our videos😊💖

Colonel Flagg (Edward Winter) died in 2001 from Parkinson's aged 63.
Dr. Sydney Friedman (Allan Arbus) died in 2013 aged 95.
What I'm most happy about is that they still exist here
That pic of Alda is altered he doesn't look like that! Whoever put this on here should be ashamed of themselves.
The closed captioning is terrible. Lot of wrong names and info.
Did you know that William Christopher and Wayne Roger's both died on the same day a year apart?
One of the saddest episodes was when Charles rehearsed the Korean impromptu musicians over and over until they could play the Mozart piece perfectly. ÌWhile they were leaving, in the back of a pickup truck, playing, a North Korean bomb exploded, killing them all. I was shocked. But then that was what war was really like.
Good for Mike Farrell.
The Korean musicians didn't all die. I think one made it to the 4077 MASH camp and died while Charles attended to him.

Which made it all the more poignant!!!
I recently got to meet Jamie Farr at a local convention in my state. He was amazing to talk to
Absolutely ❤mash hawkeye Pearce was my favourite he made the programme well done Alan alda.. Your a star
Season 1 thru 3 were the best.
Tone down the music so can hear the narrator better.
I don't want to say it's funny but it's actually very interesting
A couple of fun facts. Gary Burghoff was the only actor to appear in both the movie and the TV show. The series lasted 8 years longer than the war itself. The show lasted 11 years while the war only lasted 3.
That was a good show back then you know when I I was a about 7 or 8 years old for real
What a pity I couldn't hear for the background music
Sorry, I'll adjust the background music in future videos.
These pics are so photo shopped.
Appreciate your feedback 🙏🙏!! Sorry about that, We will use better Thumbnail in future videos. We hope you can give another chance for us to entertain you or evoke your memories💖.

3:19 No video scenes using Larry Linville/Frank Burns are shown AT ALL.
You forgot Father Mulcahy, George Morgan. It's his picture in the opening credits. He passed away in 2022 at his home in Chilmark, MA.
Loved the show. You mispronounced some of the names.

One good season (the first). Practically every show was some tedious lecture about 1960s themes on social justice and feminism.
Lighten Up Francis
I just lived this show i neverissed one show wish it was still on tv
