    I wish you would do a fan test... Like use the mic with the fan in front of you. That's my concern about the 8200. For tropical countries, a fan is usually running whilst one is working from home and the only solution is a headset with a good ANC mic + A windscreen cushion to cover it (the mic). Thank you for doing this vid!

      We’ve done some microphone tests with fans blowing and if you have a flan blowing directly on the mic all that we’ve tested will sound like a fan blowing on your mic.
      If there was a fan over you or blowing at you but not directly on the mic the noise shouldn’t get picked up.

    Surprising to me that I really disagree with some postings about the 8200 UC microphone quality since I am first interested in using for home office phone calls and second priority listening to music. I don't want to be disturbed by my environment with nearby activities becoming part of my phone call or workflow concentration and I don't want to be a nuisance with my music over traditional speakers. Both the 8200 and Focus mic sounded pretty good in general. I fully agree with CatchMeIfYouCan about the bassy sound and muffled audio plus I heard some digitized artifacts. However, I fully disagree that this is a good thing on a phone call for the recipient(s) - although fully intelligible, I think it will be distracting/artificial/weird voice audio to the recipient. I thought the Focus performed more naturally and preferred in your comparison. Contrary to Maikeru's post, I like the 'tap on microphone' test. It gives me a solid perspective of what will happen when I adjust the headset during a call. For the audiophile who is generally a primary music/podcast one-way audio user - I can understand this test is a don't care. The mic test is valuable to me. i also wear glasses and have some bad experience with some headphones causing pressure points due to my glasses. Would love to see some comfort reviews on headsets for those of us that are not candidates for contacts or have perfect vision.

      Hi Jon, thank you for watching and providing your insights. You bring up some good points! We'll see what we can do about making a video on the different headsets and our opinion of comfort. It's a very hard topic to discuss because everyone's version of comfort is extremely different. The Voyager Focus UC would definitely be one of the most comfortable dual speaker headsets to consider.

      Wearing the Focus right now. This set is awesome. The audio quality for music is great. Better than the Sennheiser I set back. I am at home so the background is relatively quite. The audio quality is also better than the Jaba 65 I have at work

    My job gave me the v8200 to use, I can also use them privately. I was watching this while wearing them. They definitely sound better. Sound is warmer, it has more depth. Focus sounds more sharp, like when you turn the treble knob to high.
    Edit: I wonder how they compare to this headphone: Sony WH-1000XM5

    Thanks for the great video. Loving it.
    Just one question: does the 8200 UC keeps doing on ANC during Teams call? Or does it passthrough the surounding noice in the earcups speakers?
    For example, the Epos 360, does only ANC during music and when you start making a teams call, it passes the srounding sounds of the collegues in the speakers in the ear cups.

    • @HeadsetAdvisor
      @HeadsetAdvisor  Год назад +1

      That's a great question and one we haven't tested on this headset, so we will need to test to confirm. It seems many operate that way for whatever reason. One comparable model we know for certain that allows ANC while on a call is here ruclips.net/video/2y5tTOAzmUI/видео.html

    the microphone quality is surprisingly good despite the lack of boom mic on the 8200uc
    Sennheiser (EPOS) have 3 models similar to the 8200. that would be a nice comparison if you have access to these . the EPOS adapt 360 is less than half the price .
    in a big corporation. it would be a good idea to standardize more than one style to make everyone happy. for example %90 would get the on-ear headset like the focus and the rest would get an over-ear.

      Hi Sam I just received the EPOS models so we will do the comparison of those two here shortly but on Monday I’ll be releasing a video on the 8200 UC, Bose 700 UC, EPOS 660, and Jabra Evolve2 85. It was a fun video to do.

    What app do you use to test? Was without noise canceling software? Because I have Poly focus 2 and itsn't the same result with background noise, I don't know why, and it's up to date.

    • @HeadsetAdvisor
      @HeadsetAdvisor  2 года назад +1

      Hi Seba, when we do our mic tests we simply connect the headset to the computer and use the Windows Voice Sound Recorder. We don't edit the audio or use any sort of noise canceling software.
      We're finding that all headsets with a noise canceling microphone still have their limitations as to which noises they block out best and how much they can block out.
      If you're not getting enough mic noise cancellation on this model, I dont see any other headset being better. It may be worth adding the noise canceling software here krisp.ai/?ref=headsetadvisor

    I like the sound signature of 8200. Boomy output although a little bit muffled but well compensated for bassy sound. It as if 8200 is a having a wired connection :-)

    Perhaps I'm just spoiled by owning a condenser microphone, but all of these headset microphones sound like garbage to me. I'd expect much, much better quality at this price class.

    • @HeadsetAdvisor
      @HeadsetAdvisor  2 года назад +2

      No headset we’ve tested will sound as good as a condenser microphone. That being said, for most people working in an office, at home or on the go a condenser microphone isn’t really made for these types of applications.
      When you get microphone noise cancellation involved there’s a trade off that has to be made between having good voice clarity, while also being able to block background noise.
