My dad seen Hank Snow during the Korean War, he actually had a letter written to him or actually I believe it was written to my Grandparents from Hank Snow during that time....don't know what happened to it, but I remember it well! My dad loved Hank Snow, and Ernest Tubb they were his favorites! Mine too! They were awesome human beings, and awesome musicians!!!! And they will always be remembered with love in my heart!!!!
Wow Hank Snow was born in 1914? My father was born in 1919 he turned 100 in 2019, and Hank Snow was one of his hero's i remember his albums along with Hank Williams and Lefty Frizzell, Earnst Tubbs and many more of the Classic Greats of Country Music.
I had the prevalage to see Jimmy Snow , his wife and band in Vietnam in 1969. I was with the 129the Assault Helicopter Division along with three other outfits . Enjoyed his show so much. So glad he came my way.
Thank You Jimmie for your visit back to Canada on this so special day, May 9th, 2014. I would love to meet you some time and talk about your dad. I have been so fascinated by him over the years. I have read his book, but there is a lot more to him than what was printed. I wish you would write a book about your life at home and share your feelings about your dad. It would be interesting to learn more about your mother, Minnie Alders.
I wish that the recitation had not been cut off. But we have this recording by Hank in our collection of over 80 LPs by Hank Snow. All of which we have transferred to CDs. There is a joke between my wife and I (incidentally I don't think there is a bigger Hank Snow Fan in the world than my wife), many a night I will sit up to read, but my wife will put on a CD by Hank while resting in bed. So I sometimes jokingly say "that my wife goes to bed with Hank Snow".
Please pay attention to the portion around the 2:30 mark. I was told that Marty Robins put Hank wise to what RCA was doing (& not only to Hank, but many more), as Marty found out, they raked him over. It's my belief Billions if not Trillions were not paid to artists over the years, & perhaps this is even more prevalent in the movie industry. Thanks Jimmy, for bringing this to our attention, & is much more important than Hank's toupe.
Hank had a career run with RCA, for almost 50 years. 46, they gave him the boot. Hank was looking forward to celebrating a 50th year album with them, but it didn't happen. RCA had a special CBS TV program(its on youtube) ,with Chet Atkins as host, and Willie,Waylon, Michael McDonald. But they excluded it's longest performer-Hank Snow.
Your dad continues to earn more respect than this. He could never understand "what get's into Jimmy'. You take after your mother's brother Jim. I will pray for you & him.

a trick: watch series on Flixzone. I've been using them for watching loads of movies during the lockdown.
@Reginald Rocco Definitely, I have been using flixzone for since november myself :D
No one could sing train sons Like Hank. This old RR man has many favorites in the ones he did but #1 is "One More Ride", and # 2 is "The Last Ride".
He was shure up and running. Good shape for a 100 year old. Wish I'll be like that when I turn 100.
