EXTRA IMPORTANT INFORMATION 1) When showing the new UHF radio Malakai had changed it to channel 35 without me realising (we had been running them on channel 30), I changed it back after. Channel 35 is an emergency repeater channel. 2) The road we took out of The Cells is a public road, it is EagleHawk Trail onto Cells River Road. The 'no through sign' is from years ago when the roads were closed through there. But this road does pass through/next to farm property, this road is used regularly by local 4wders, there is no signs saying 'private property', 'do not enter' etc and we have never been asked not to use it. To the best of my knowledge the local farmers have no issue with people using this road and we wouldn't use a road that we were obviously not meant to use, but please leave the couple of gates you pass through the way you found them. You also need to make sure you follow the route out we took, there are several other turn offs on it and it can be confusing to follow if you haven't done it before/don't have good maps. If you take a wrong turn there is a good chance you would end up in someones property.
Onya buddy appreciate all the advice, soaking it up! In process of weaponizing a 2010 Colorado crew cab diesel, with a 50mm lift kit and under body armour, bull bar etc ..cant wait to do this ... cheers and thanks for posting
Loving your videos, mate. 👍 Your videos have been a great help to us on finding these local tracks, my wife and I are new to this area and we've been having a ball going out and finding some of these places you've been filming. We live just outside of Wauchope so I'll make sure I say hi if I see you guys in town. 👍
Hey mate, where exactly is the Hilton? Is it at the end of corn cob fire trail? And also what’s the easiest way out from the cob fire trail? Without going up the steep way you guys went in the video?
Another great vid Tyler. Must get down there and tackle some of those tracks. I noticed a ding on your rear passenger door. Is that a whoopsy from a previous drive ?
Thanks mate, some great tracks out there! Yep that was from a while back now but, I did that maybe 18 months ago, slid it into a rock on the tracks haha
Thanks mate :) We are both using ironman winches on our 4wds and for the paper maps the detailed ones are just from the NSW state forest topographical maps series and then I have bigger HEMA maps which cover whole states/large areas.
Mate, I’m looking at doing a solo trip to the cells. What are the hard copy map names for this area? I’ve looked on line and can’t find anything. Is there an alternative map app you could recommend?
Hey mate, the only detailed paper maps I know of that area are the NSW forestry topographical maps www.cartodraft.com.au/topographic_maps_australia.shtml And then I'm pretty sure its the 'Ralfes Peak' one that covers most of the cells area. And then I'm sure any decent mapping app will cover it all, I use the VMS which has all the tracks on it. Or HEMA or whatever will have them
