I don’t think Yankees fans should get a bad rap just because they are obnoxious, rude, and have nasty dispositions towards every other state in the union. Well, okay. Now that I’ve analyzed it, I know I was wrong.
The worst thing the Yankees endured this year was that win streak. Before, Jomboy already stated that these Yankees are not contenders and coped. Then they go on a tear and it convinced the Jim’s and Jake’s of the world that these Yanks are scary. But they obviously were not. Every player other than Stanton and Judge underperformed. They need consistent bats and soon. Just look at the Giants. They can throw 8 straight .800 OPS batters in a row. No easy outs anywhere.
SF is in another world. They got bench guys that can rake as well. 10 guys with 10+ HRs, 9 with 15+ HRs. They don't have a weak 3 man bench like most MLB teams who just gather up arms. It's one thing looking at the stats with SF, and it's another thing when you see them. They can adjust to any move. I binged them for several weeks this year. They set up their guys to optimize success unlike the Yankees who just generically do what the numbers say and hope for success. Two teams that approach analytics in totally different ways.

Red Sox coming back down 4 late in game 162 was HUGE for them winning this game. If this was played in Yankee Stadium(if the Sox beat the Jays) Stanton has 3 more RBI alone and Judge doesn't get thrown out at home. Would've made this into a 1 run game.
What the Yankees need is starting pitching and a Manager who understands what a starting pitcher is for. Every morning I open the box score, our starter was gone after 4.2 with 50 Pitches. Even when he was leading. It is a miracle to me, how this team won over 90 games.
