I Make Montages and i can Assure you. Its Just Awful sometimes to Record stuff for my Channel. Its takes Patience,Dedication and Mental Health to do This. Being Consistent Is a Hard Task. I Only Play Elite smash to Get Clips. Or Warmups for Online Brackets. QP Is Worthless
For me when I used to make montages back in the day, I always thought the reward of making the video was worth it after playing through all the crappy online matches, because you're bound to get a few cool moments and bad games. But I feel like there's no other reason to play elite trash now, considering it still gives you bad matches.
I can fully relate, the most frustrating thing about elite trash has to be that everyone sweats so much for no reason. And you could say it's for practicing, but when they are about to lose they disconnect, I don't think that's what people do when they are trying to practice, it's more like they are playing just to get pointless gsp that it means nothing, your gsp level doesn't make you good neither bad, especially because gsp now goes up by its own even if you don't play the game. But no, they care way too much, they will do anything to obtain their gsp, even if it means literally not playing the game and trying to time you out. And then of course, since the only thing the know is to camp, they panic when they are in disadvantage and mash out of hitstun or do a predictable option. I certainly don't go on elite for practice, I go to try get clips and it's a nightmare because literally there's no kind of interaction between both players, it doesn't even annoy me it BORES me. How can anyone enjoy playing the game like that?
Yeah, as a person who loves to play Super Smash Bros, I can totally agree with this because I've experienced Smash Online but I didn't get to Elite Smash (or Elite Trash), I've experienced lag, toxic players, and really bad match ups. And I do want to have fun but I don't want to lose my insanity. All I do is play with CPUs and sometimes play with my cousins. I just wanna have fun, thanks for the video and the advice you gave me
This sounds like splatoon three solo que, ha ha. Elite smash is awful and I just stuck with arenas until I grown tired of the title four months or less after it released.
i gave this system so many chances but overall, it's been detrimental to my experience of the game. Toxic players, nintendo's online quirks, and the Global Trash Power system has just shown me not only that this game is super off balance in just the right way that makes it infuriating, but also that even if you try hard, sometimes, you'll just run into a cheese and even if you do the right things to negate it, you'll have to rely on some amount of luck. it's overall kinda ruined smash for me and I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels this way (at least to a certain extent)
I completely gave up on playing ultimate online to go play melee on slippi instead. Online is so bad it's just not fun anymore. I never had a great time playing it, I was simply doing it because I wanted to get better for offline tournaments and gars with friends. Melee online made me realize how enjoyable online can be when there is literally no difference with offline. I have more fun, I improve quicker, and everything is just overall better. I don't miss ultimate online and I don't think I ever will. From now on I will only play the game offline, with my friends or at tournaments.
It doesn’t help that Game and Watch is garbage online - harder to react to combo DI/SDI, harder to edgeguard, harder to juggle, and camping is harder to deal with.
Even as an ex-Dedede main elite smash wasn’t all that great for me, especially now that I play Sephiroth. I usually use it to practice for an upcoming bracket if I only have time for a few games or no one I know is available to play. I’m used to playing offline brackets so I didn’t experience the “online buffs” Dedede gets when I played elite. If anything it was a hinderance due to the fact I couldn’t regrab gordos consistently, react to an approach fast enough, and it forced me to play in a braindead way that wasn’t good for my brackets. With Sephiroth those issues become worse since he requires more precision with his shff aerials and movement. It doesn’t help I don’t have the best internet either (even with a lan adapter), so it becomes really frustrating when a reverse special or my shield doesn’t come out properly and I die for it due to input delay. I also feel really bad for people I play against since I’m somewhat adding to the problem. After watching this video I’m going to try and move away from elite smash and play more in arenas and offline, even if I only have time for a few games.
I’m glad this video helped you. I can relate to a lot of the problems you’re saying because I’ve played your characters before, but only on elite. Having bad internet really doesn’t help either even if u have a lan. Hopefully you’ll enjoy the game more now away from elite smash.
It's kind of sad to see how Ultimate online went from bad to worse lol, as an almost retired montager I can confirm that Elite Smash is not healthy and never was, you described it very well in this video like your personal experiences with it, great work with everything!

I completely agree. Someone I know plays melee a lot and has told me how good the online is, something ultimate can’t even dream of

He does overall get some advantages as a character online but I as a player get significant downgrades because of like lag and stuff
