Should I return to hearth stone? Like I’m a okay at it, I just stopped because I couldn’t seem to enjoy it. Also I can’t get the free deck ;-; should I anyways come back to the game? Anyone .-.
@@Brandon-rt9ei u did get the free deck because u were away for 4 months or they no longer gave free decks anymore
@@Brandon-rt9ei Depends on what you have and how much you enjoy hearthstone. Do you enjoy it enough to either play a sub-par deck made from grinding or enough to pay for enough cards to make a meta deck. Worth the investment in either time or money only if you enjoy playing that much.

"Illidan, not only did nothing wrong, but he was a good boy."
Do you want a like? Because that's how you get them.
As someone who reads Warcraft novels, this is actually a really good Hearthstonification of telling Illidan's story.
I agree. I was honestly afraid that they might butcher this because so far their storylines have been random and more on the funny side rather than dramatic. But they did pretty good with this one I'd say.
well no quite. I know it is hearthstone and the lore is not supposed to be correct but there are a lot of mistakes/changes. So according to wota they got correctly illidan attidude , they portray him here much more arrogant that he is in legion which is correct(the night elfs considered him to be important because of his eyes, so he was full of himself). However illidan didnt ever want to duel with his brother or harm him, he desliked how his brother "stole" tyrande from him and that others considered malfurion more important than him but he never ever wanted to kill his brother even throught the manipulations of xavious. Illidan in the fights against manoroth (which again only happened on the cataclysm cenario), and azinoth didnt have any help, illidan never faced cenarious, and fan fact for everyone that cares illidan has never faced his brother in a real duel , the closer they came to that was in the war of the ancients when illidan and varothen had captured malfurion and some other dudes and malfurion managed to escape(i would call it a little random skirmish which was not intended from both parties). Another thing is that Xavious never really trusted illidan because he knew that he didnt kill malfurion even when xavious himself was manipulating him. One other big thing is that illidans plan didnt work 100%. Illidan plan was to get the demon soul with which he could close the portal (the one on the well of eternity) , which almost work but the old gods stopped him. So after that illidan and malfurion using the demon soul closed the portal , so what illidan is saying is wrong. After all of that i could still nitpick allot of things but again this is hearthstone if you want the real version of what happened you should propably read wota.
P.S war of the ancients is not in a very good state lorewise, with that i mean that depending on your source(the book wota, cataclysm cenario , illidan cenario in legion and others) you could get conflicting information so take everything i have posted here with a grain of salt.
@@konstantinoskinnas789 Considering there's a total of like 16 sentences said in the whole prologue they conveyed it really fucking well. They obviously can't fit in all the random details in an adventure that short.
@@hammurabitheawesome674 true but as i stated a lot of the things which were sayed in the prologue are pretty much wrong lorewise(again i know it is hearthstone, i am just pointing all of these things because someone could consider them canon, which is not correct)
@@konstantinoskinnas789 The whole thing is just a story told by Illidan tho. As that you really can't criticize a thing here, since, you know, Illidan talks about something that happened over ten thousand years ago. Can't blame him for spinning things a little or even misremembering some stuff. As it is, i think it was conveyed very nicely all in all.
Illidan: I you cannot see my bravery, see my ANGER!
Satyr Overseer: All I see, is WEAKNESS!
Me: Ooh, maybe I should've waited a bit before playing that.
this prologue was actually really damn cool. I love the way they tell these stories, I do wish it was a little longer and a bit more difficult but still fun nonetheless
It needs to be easy because it gates the Demon Hunter class. The main story missions that will unlock later will be more difficult.
They should do this prologues for every hero
@@kimera2450 Oh my god, that's probably the greatest idea I've heard in a while, concerning the new players in hearthstone, that is. It might seem boring as a concept, I mean, playing 4 missions in order to unlock a class seems pretty bad, opposed to playing a single fight against the class you desire. However, story wise, it would really set the mood and help players get a little more accommodated with each particular class, like how with hunter you would play as Rexxar, gathering your animal companions, fighting off the Alliance along Thrall, etc. Lore wise, it teaches new players that all the heroes originated from warcraft actually have their destinies intertwined.
What I'm saying is that it should provide a challenge, a lore lesson and a fun activity for new players to unlock classes.
@@blitzdactyl Thanks for the compliment!
Also, i dont think that 4 missions for every hero can become boring, i liked the 4 Illidan battles lmao
lore:
originaly xavius was a nightelf who swore loyalty to sargeras and the burning legion, as a gift sargeras turned him into the first satyr, after the well of eternity exploded and sargeras scheme was stoped xavius became a agent of the old gods instead
I thought he was turned into a Satyr as punishment. Xavius failed him and Sargeras was ready to destroy him, but decided that Xavius could still serve a purpose as patient zero of a horrible disease(Satyr-ism). I don’t know, all I do is read the wiki but that’s what I remember
@@salmonmankingoftheocean7624 nah
Same happened with Azshara and her followers back with n'zoth, who turned the night elves who'd cooperate into nagas (which in that exact moment was a blessing since their city got sunk), sparing their life
And again with illidan himself, whose eyes got burnt out by sargeras which also gave him the tattoos
They don't seem like gifts at first but when you think about it you figure they really fucking are

Having a story in _Hearthstone_ actually played straight instead of for laughs is something I've wanted pretty much ever since the game was announced. I get that it's a whimsical game, but it's always kind of bummed me out that they have this whole second _Warcraft_ game they could be using as an avenue for storytelling and they're just using it to be silly. Also loved the Alex Horley illustrations for young Illidan and Malfurion, nice throwbacks to the _War of the Ancients_ omnibus cover. Shame that Tyrande didn't get the same treatment. Hope they get added as alternate hero art at some point.
"second warcraft game" Warcraft 3 fans triggered
Tyrande could get her Night Warrior outfit. You know: Black eyes, evil looking and mean.
Probably problematic, seeing as Hearthstone isn't canon
Illidan is the type of dude to say “why do good girls like bad guy?” Then he goes become a “bad” guy so he can impress girls.
Wait, so that means malfurion is evil?
@@l3l723 Looking at today's WoW, Tyrande is not that good either.
@@l3l723 ah, another lore newbie. no. malfurion is not evil. thing with illidan is complicated. illidan was that guy who never tells you what excatly he is gonna do, and might betray you only to reveal he double betrayed the enemies. another important thing is that after he was imprisoned for 10 thousand years, he was given freedom by tyrande during another burning legion's invasion on azeroth. malfurion didn't want to, considering (which is fair) they thought he is just powerhungery betrayer (thats why he is literally called betrayer). tyrande given him freedom anyway tho, thinking he might change over the years. well, he proved himself extremely strong force against demons. then he found skull of guldan (yes, guldan is dead, he died during second war between orcs and humans when he went off to tomb of sargeras to get some stuff here) and absorbed it's power. that changed him to that thing, with wings, horns etc. he didn't looked liek that before, and even after sargeras burned his eyes and gave him tatoos he still looked fairly normal. well, malfurion and tyrande kinda freaked out and were like "i told you he shouldn't be trusted" and banished him. Maiev shadowsong, also present in HS as skin for rogue, was his warden who kept him in that prison over the years, went crazy and psycho becouse of this, and went to chase illidan to put him back to prison. meanwhile, Kil'jeiden ordered him to kill lich king or he would torment his soul forever. so he had no choice and tried to do as he was ordered, but was stopped by arthas and almost killed. well he survived and went to Outland, originally Draenor, home planet of orcs (yeah, they aren't native to Azeroth, main WOW planet where everything takes place). Outland is post apocalyptic wasteland full of demons and chaotic energes at this point, and his plan was to hide from demons. well he was discovered anyway later. his plan was to get enough strength here, using help of Akhama, Kaelthas and lady Vashj to eventually invade Burning's legion main planet and destroy them once and for all. it was on Outland he created his most famous project, Demon hunters. night or blood elfs mutated by demonic energies and fel to enhance their strength, endurance and so on. they were ultimate tool against demons, using fire against fire. everyone else thought he was evil, and they were kinda right to think so, he wasn't in fact evil, but his actiions often sayd otherwise, stealing water to negoiate, forcing some orcs to mutate and be used as pawns, doing lots of shady stuff. so, players in WoW's first expansion the burning crusade went later to Outland as well by entering the dark portal. later, they went on crusade against this "evil dictator of Outland", and with help of Akhama who betrayed illidan, and Maiev, they almost killed illidan. or atleast his physical body. you see, illidan was so changed by demonic energies, he became half demon and half elf basically. and when demon dies, unless he died in twisting nether which is located behind physical realm of universe, their soul go back to twisting nether where they get a new body and basically respawn. this is why legion was so scary, they were just infinity, and never truly died. so same happened with illidan, and his soul was just wandering for a few years in twisting nether. years later, during yet another invasion of demons on azeroth, this is time where horde and alliance are tho major forces on Azeroth, Maiev finally decided enough is enough and gave freedom to imprisoned demon hunters, this is why demon hunter was introduced as playable class a few years earlier in WOW. well, demon hunter get to work, and help illidan to get back to his body. when they acomplished this, he went rampage on demons, and with help of Maiev (yea, those two were forced to work together) and archmage Khadgar and players, raided Tomb of Sargeras (you are correct, same place as Guldan died) since big bad was happening here. This is where portal to twisting nether was opened and illidan with help of others killed Kil'jeiden. once and for all. He was like the biggest of the biggest bois in legion, only Sargeras was upper than him, but he is the ultimate force who created and guided legion in the first place. so this was a big deal. then, illidan used Sargerite keystone, which is basically crystal that can create big portals, used it to.. well... create a portal. to Homeland of legion, if you guessed this you are correct. then with again help of players, he raided Anthorus, basically the main base of legion, and this is where they defeated finally legion an imprisoned Sargeras, ended his crusade and illidan decided to stay here with sargeras while others went back to azeroth and closed the portal behind them. we havent heard of illidan ever since.
@@manaeth cheers for that lol

Imagine saving the entire world,

reminds me of the meme where that one guy shoots the other black guy who is sitting on a chair and then he says
"How could illidan do this"
If you’re looking for the format I’m pretty sure you mean the Eric Andre meme
@@Barely_Edited exactly
@andrejoss475 That's not why Illidan saved the vials from the Well though. The night elves grew Nordrassil out of the second Well of Eternity *because* Illidan had brought a bunch of chaotic magic to Hyjal and they wanted to make sure it was under control. He was only interested in himself, his power, and the belief that arcane magic would be necessary if the Burning Legion returned (which itself stems from his overinflated ego thinking he alone had saved the world, which is nonsense). Bear in mind, the existence and practice of arcane magic was what brought the Legion to Azeroth in the first place.
So if you think about it from their perspective, Illidan had not only become this half-demon monstrosity (who briefly worked for the Legion), he'd also "rescued" water from the Well of Eternity which had 1. attracted the Legion to Azeroth, 2. acted as the gateway that let the Legion onto Azeroth, and 3. blown up and destroyed the vast majority of Azeroth's landmass after a war that had already claimed countless lives. So to them it was essentially the equivalent of Illidan intentionally leaving the back door open so the Legion could invade again. Honestly the fact that they didn't execute him is kind of incredible under the circumstances.
@@TheZombifiedGuy Though on the other hand the highborn exiles went on to use one of Illidan's spare vials to make yet another well, and practiced arcane magic for another 10,000. They used a system of warding runestones to shield their magic use from detection and it worked fine. So with the benefit of hindsight the other night elves look like they were overreacting to a ridiculous degree. And in the context of how the Warcraft story was told we learned of the prosperous magical society of the high elves and the magic human city of Dalaran long before the anti-magical night elves were introduced, so many players aren't inclined to be all that sympathetic to them freaking out at something that we already know turned out to not be all that big of a deal.
When the Legion did come back it was through sending pawns through the Dark Portal, which only indirectly had anything to do with the creation of the Sunwell and arcane magic in that Medivh was a mage. Which didn't really matter, Gul'dan who made the other end of the portal began as a shaman so the Avatar of Sargeras could have instead possessed a random druid, shaman, or a power-hungry troll witchdoctor messing with powers beyond their comprehension. (which seems to happen a lot)
@@felonyx5123 That's true. I was mostly trying to capture their perspective in the moment - so without the benefit of hindsight that high elves and humans (and we the players) have, knowing there are ways to mask the signature of powerful arcane. Though I will point out that, after the Dark Portal, the Sunwell ended up being used to summon Kil'jaeden. So that risk always lingers.
Mostly I take issue with arguing that Illidan was totally justified in that decision (and many others). Just as the night elves didn't have the benefit of hindsight, Illidan wasn't acting with that knowledge. It came down to his own convictions and ambitions, which I think the night elves were understandably wary of in that moment. I don't mind Illidan being treated as morally ambiguous, but one of the downsides of his redemption(?) in Legion is that Blizzard (and by extension the players) essentially planted this "ends justify the means" seed way back in Illidan's past, which whitewashes his motivations and actions even when they were pretty clearly evil. By the Burning Crusade, Illidan was openly practicing slavery and at one point advocated genocide. But in Legion they decided to essentially cover up or distract from that context by establishing that he was simultaneously leading the Illidari against the Legion, so that it somehow seems like Akama, Maiev, and the players were in the wrong for killing him. Despite all the horrible things he was doing in Outland.
That and it really irks me when people blame Tyrande for not reciprocating his love (though honestly it reads more like lust). The dude was apparently incapable of taking no for an answer for over 10,000 years, and some players straight up argue that he's somehow noble and loyal for it. It's not admirable. It's really, really creepy.
(sorry for the rant lol)
