Sick concept for a series, would be good to see you cover a lot of the best/most common teams and then maybe talk more about specific shells in depth or somethin, love it mate
Ty, and thanks for the idea, I'll see where this series leads to. If I get through a good selection of teams I might get on to some shells and explore things from a deeper standpoint.
Ever since joining the UMVC3 Discord seeing your posts and video has made what's been a really scary hiatus of this game feel like a breeze coming back. I feel way more knowledgeable than I did ever before playing this game, let's just hope it stays retained and applied during real matches 😂 Love the content keep it up dude
as a wolverine player through and through, i'd be glad to also see a tutorial on your team since i want to learn both because they have different approaches to neutral thanks for the guides as always
Hmmm, interesting. I suppose my team is kinda easy, it just lacks the top tier element so I would avoid doing this kind of content on it until I've run out of better/more sensible team ideas to give people Thank you for the kind words!
Thank you! Well, I've covered some of doom/Vergil here, and I plan to do mag/doom/phoenix. So the mag/doom element will be covered within that I think 👌
I'd love to see a Magneto/Dorm team composition if you're taking suggestions. Team Fchamp is probably the most straightforward use of that shell, but Dante in the back is what I occasionally lab/ladder with these days.
Mag Dorm I might get to one day, but I'm going for easiest stuff first and that team gets quite technical. Nova is a prime candidate for easiest, but also he has some not so intuitive stuff to explore!
@@SpartanThrone It definitely is a bit more of a serious composition. I used to rock the less conventional Nova/Doom/Strider a la Marvelo, but Nova/Spencer/common partner (Doom, Strange, Frank, Magneto) is probably something that would really be of value to the community since it's such a proven shell by so many players. Love this style of content though!
Mag/Dante/Frank might be a good shout though the difficulty is higher. Mag/Doom/Vergil would be very similar to this video (and I plan to do mag/doom/phoenix) so I might avoid that for now but thanks for the suggestion!
@@SpartanThrone Very true, Mag/Doom/Vergil probably too much overlap. Maybe Mag/Doom/Sent? I see people trot that out as a good team to learn the game with quite often
For Vergil post DHC, jump forward before the Helm Breaker, not straight up, helps get you closer again as the initial Jcut spaces you. Also, for Sword loops on P2 side walk back a bit after the Lunar Phase. Some of your drops are simply because you were too close. Btw you should link the additional resources referenced in the vid, eg your own Doom infinite tutorials, ShadyK's anchor Vergil guide, there's also a guide by Hitbox for Vergil solo bnbs.
Cool concept. Would like to see more of these. Just to throw out a few reasonably straightforward teams that should also cover a relatively wide selection of characters and playstyles: KBR, Nova/Spencer/Doom, Deadpool/Dante/X and Wesker/Doom/Sent could be ideas there.
KBR is a really good suggestion! I'll add that to the list because it really hits the criteria of effective/proven in tournament and also easy to pick up and play. Deadpool/Dante/X is good too but I think together they're a less intuitive team/trickier to learn... And also I'm not as familiar with their gameplan and how to adapt with it as I would like to be to make a video on them, tho I'll never say never.
I'm specifically mentioning Deadpool/Dante because DP is one of the two zoning characters I see beginners pick up (Chris being the other one), and even though Dante will always have the asterisk of "you really need to learn stinger into bold cancel to play him". I think it's very doable once you learn the trick to it (I can do it and I do not have great execution), and Dante's just a great return-on-investment-character, but it's not strictly easy. Chris/Dante/Sent might also scratch that same itch for people who want simple-ish zoning teams though. In fact, Chris is probably even more popular amongst beginners when I think about it, so that might be an idea.
@@Bager_RBN you make a good point. I will consider it as you're right tbh, it's just I need to think about those chars/that team more because they're more technical to play well than eg. Doom/Vergil, and I'll also need to learn their stuff on hitbox lmao
@@requiemtheancient what sort of shortcuts you got? I'm so new to it. I've set it so that up+down = up. Tbf here it was just that I'd not practised a crouched input cancelled into a DP before that moment in the video (shout-outs to me doing videos with lots of prep 🤣🤣)
I think the 2nd one I'll do will be Nova Spencer Doom as it's both easier to play and much more successful, but I might add it to the list and see how for I get.
Ohhh yes that could work... Only reservation I have about that is that Strider is a good bit more technical to start with. Then again, Vajra xx XF3 is easy to start with, and teleport j.H is simple too but hard to stop. Then with 3 bars ouroboros go brrr... It might be straight forward to do this team, I'll add it to the list.
@@SpartanThrone Are you going to act like you have a point Vergil after the drops in this video? I heard so many Hitbox OSes 🤣. Marvelo already has a vid on XF2/3 Strider stuff. Never seen you play Strider .. you should do one for your own team ;p
The hardest part of playing wolverine is def the plinking. Not because it's hard, but because you'll feel embarrassed from doing swiss cheese lol EDIT: It would be cool to see team KBR, Rayray, and LT/ CoachSteve
Now that's a tricky one. Honestly it's not what this series is about (at least not to begin with), as I'm looking to take simple/proven teams. Only thing that wolv/storm/akuma proves is that JWong was a different level 😅 It's actually a really hard team to play, as inspiring as it is to see JWong pilot it... It is his deep understanding and feel for the game that allowed him to succeed, as opposed to the innate potential of those 3 chars.
