There's one mod I really love using with this quest and it's the one where all your companions are invited to the ball, and it really feels more legit than vanilla to be honest because you would still have your main party but still be able to talk to all your companions in the ball. I think they all even have the ballroom callout introductions though it is a bit long. Maybe on your next playthrough you can add this mod, and I think there's one as well that allows you to wear dresses or other clothing for the ball.
Hope you make a full recovery soon! The cold/flu is definitely making the rounds 😷 At least you got to see our favourite witch of the wilds to perk you up a little!
1:55:00 Leliana's cynical approach to Celene is more understandable if you read the novel 'The Masked Empire' which shows how ruthless Celene herself can be. Like Gaspard, she has lots of blood on her hands. And ofc she is thinking strategically about the advantage of having a grateful Briala and Gaspard on side.
I'm impressed you managed to get enough court approval to expose the duchess. Though you didn't get the truce/ strongarming all three (Celene/Gaspard/Brialla) to work for you. On another note, I prefer to bring Varric to this mission. His editor cheated him out of his royalties, claiming his books supposedly don't sell in Orlais... The entire council of heralds swarm around him, asking for his autograph or to sign their copies of "Hard in Hightown"😂
Hi Kiki! This is my first time commenting but I discovered your playthrough a couple weeks ago and have been watching them right in a row as I work at my library job! Thank you for being such a delight! Your thoughtfulness and theorizing is so fun to watch as a person who has played about 1000 hours of this game. And I cried with you when you had to make the choice between Alistair and Hawke! Thanks again for making these videos!
I love how you were debating if the 'magical adviser' was Morrigan or not. That is the best part of this quest, the only part for me. This is one of those quests that people either love or hate, personally I hate it due to the timer. That blasted timer stresses me out so much I tend to put it off for as long as possible. The war table though doesn't bother me as they just sit patiently waiting.
Kiki since there’s always so many war table missions to do, you should consider getting the complete war table mission mod. It instantly completes it without the timer. That way you can just do a bunch instead of only 3 at a time and have to keep going back to Skyhold
Oh I really liked that mission. Also, do not worry, enjoy the game at your own pace. The side quests (especially those linked to the party members) are part of the experience.
essentially you get court approval for being vague, lol. they hate direct talk Cole disapproves because you basically supported an execution Also Brialla isn't quite innocent if you were able to find every clue
First time we see Morrigan in origins: Well, well, what have we here? First time we see Flemeth in DA2 : Well, well, what have we here? And once more first time we see Morrigan in Inquisition: Well, well, what have we here? I love this little detail here
I never had this resolution to the palace's quest. It nearly felt like you were forced to burry Gaspard and support the other two because you only found evidences against him. Rough. Even if of course you were more in favor of them. (There are many different resolutions to this event). It is indeed a missed opportunity for Morrigan and Alistair not to have been in Skyhold at the same time, but it is what it is !
I can't believe she brought the best team (with her LI!) with her to this quest without even researching it! Hahahah I can't survive without my walkthroughs
19:51 I know knife ear is used to describe elves, but before playing this part I had never heard someone call an elf “rabbit”. Also Morrigan’s entered the same way she did in Origins.😁
This quest gives me such anxiety! There's a necklace that you can find in this quest that results in Briala and Celene working together and potentially repairing their relationship
hey Kiki! you’re probably about halfway done with the game by now (story-wise anyways, including the Trespasser DLC), meaning Veilguard is right around the corner! i was wondering if you knew about the Vows & Vengeance podcast, which is an episodic audio series that follows an adventure/story for each companion in Veilguard, and if you’d react to them after finishing Inquisition, before jumping into Veilguard! there are some inconsistencies in the writing because BioWare didn’t write the V&V scripts, but it’s a really good introduction to the companions before you actually meet them in the game. unless you want to go in completely blind and be surprised when you meet them, i would totally get that!! :)
I believe you can get an option to support Gaspard but it seems difficult to trigger. Instead the common 2 choices are support of Briala or throwing Gaspard under the buss. I wonder what it takes to give that 3rd option to support Gaspard. That is who Cullen and Casandra were in favor of after all.
I'm 100% with you about that damned timer. I like to take my time with these things, but I felt like I was panic-running the whole time I was exploring the other wings. x.x Maybe there's a mod to fix it. I'll have to check if I ever do another playthrough.
"He plotted against her." Him, and most of the Empire. You don't really understand the Game in Orlais if you think killing Gaspard is going to make a dent in the intrigues, Kiki. Briala is just as 'bad' as any of them.
Every time I played this quest, I always wondered what would be like if my Warden were there and how they would announce him? If you had done this quest before Here Lies the Abyss Alistair and Morrigan would have talked to each other in Skyhold. It's juicy

Whenever i hear Morigan saying "I wonder", I crack a laugh, it reminds me of Alistair mimicking her! 😅🤣

Same. I hate this quest because of the timer.
Morrigan's entrance in this quest is just the best thing ever.

I don't think anyone looks that good in the nutcracker outfit

solas' messed up hat lol, they made mods to fix it where it looks better but i love his stupid silly hat
Aw, look at danyla in her nutcracker finery
I LOVE when Morrigan shows up, what a babe
I can't believe she brought the best team (with her LI!) with her to this quest without even researching it! Hahahah I can't survive without my walkthroughs

She does love her staircase entries, doesn't she?

Great Video
Sooo good to see Morrigan again my beloved Morri
omgggg i got so excited the moment i heard morrigan say "well well" eeeee
1:25:48 In many cases, the way to get to high objects is to spend up to 30 minutes jumping at scenery and swearing 😅
Same 😂
Yes, that is definitely the way to do it.

You played the game well for the first time through.
denyla’s another victim of the nutcracker outfit 😭 everyone hates it haha
I vaguely remember there being a lore reason for solas wearing that strange helmet. and yes its clipping into his face lol.
The tl;dr version is that it's the helmet of a people that rebelled against Orlais, I believe!
2:09:09 Lady Couteau?! That word in French… her name is Lady Knife?? 😂 I suppose in a way it’s accurate

Letting Celine die supports Gaspard.

Poor Kiki, I could never do this quest without a guide. It's the worst, so confusing and for what
Well well well… what have we here? 😆
"He plotted against her."

Briala is just as 'bad' as any of them.
Gaspard is my favourite mostly because I love his outfit lol I wish I could make him emperor without killing celene
Theres a fun viedo abput the history of the hat solas is wearing in this quest, might interest you after your playthrough is complete
Get well soon Miss Kiki.
1:16:15 The reaction ))
So... there was an option to have Briala and Celene to "get back together."
Every time I played this quest, I always wondered what would be like if my Warden were there and how they would announce him?
