My understanding is that they had scientific consultants put in a lot of thought into what they would present on the show. Like they didn't want it to be a how to guide, or more particularly they didn't want people emulating what they were doing and inadvertently making a bomb. So the processes they use on the show will not actually yield meth or anything too exothermic but they're pretty close is what I'm saying.
I feel like you’re neglecting his overall love of chemistry, he was happy when he was working with his partners in the early years of his career and he got bought out and became a high school chem teacher, passionate though he may be it was not nearly as rewarding as doing and living chemistry every single day. And yeah, becoming a powerful drug lord vs a banal high school teacher was a pretty great metaphor for how he felt parroting the most basic (lol) levels of chemistry to kids who did not care vs actually doing chemistry and having real risk involved with it.
@@amazingabby25 exactly hindsight is 20/20. Jes!! Even before this whole Corona crisis, your videos were THE ONLY ones on youtube that somewhat made me see life in a positive light and wanting to become better. Im in a very weird head space though and your upload has just, once again, made my day ❤️

Ugh! I love you, and your videos! But these give me flashbacks to a 4 year period of my life, where I was making my choices based on whatever made any given day a little less painful. I have some crazy stories, I got plenty of those, if not more, from my sober life too. I don't have any stories about ruining my life or hitting an ugly rock bottom. Luckily, and just luck, and probably prayers and magics, from various loved ones, and having those loved ones as an anchor of sorts, is why. Not because I'm better with anyone that made the same bad choices with worse consequences. I'm glad that we are both on the otner side, now, so to speak. I really admire that you've transformed your own hard times to a source of empowerment, and a way to help others. Thats beautiful. Keep at it!
This is my day 😍😍 I looove Breaking Bad, just was thinking about to start IT over again! it gave me chills when you mentioned Jesse, and the way he has always said "b*tch" 💞 This was my first show I watched from beginning to end (It is hard for me to sit down for a series, but not with this one!)
Next time you get a tattoo you should get one from a recovering addict and you can interview him so we can hear his story while you get inked... my cousin is a great tattoo artist with a great story. PS: BrBa movie is called El camino ;)
Omg yes, Hank's death as well as Mike's were hella said but in my opinion the absolute saddest scene was Todd killing Andrea and making Jesse watch... Man 💔💔💔 BB really is an absolutely epic show and you talking about it is literally me talking about it lol xD please make a part 2 to this video💟
Jessy you are great. Am a 47 years old woman and I can tell you are just so high in my respect ladder. Good for you girl for being what you are today and for sharing so much wisdom. Am following you from so so far away from the states by the way :)
Mannnn I feel that when you were talking about withdrawal, I’m a poly addict as well so I’ve been through withdrawal from meth as well as different opiates and people on dope would always shit on meth addicts going through withdrawal and it’s just sooooo different. Tbh I would rather go through a couple weeks of feeling like shit from dope than go through meth withdrawal again, I was in a dark pit for soooo long, I fucked up my jaw from clenching so much when I was using, and I ended up speaking with a stutter for a long time after getting clean, it is hard as hell .
Great video Jess but the train scene could be pulled of easy if organised and the was an inside person properly could be pulled off.... I AM NOT RECOMMENDING ANY TO GO OUT AND TRY IT LOL 👍👍
Thank you for this great video, Jess. I have Cancer and I don’t think I’d ever bring myself not sell dr**s, but I understand exactly what you mean by Walter Finally finding control and feeling alive. Love your videos. Stay healthy and safe. Xx
I've heard about this show but never seen it. Thanks for the review. I think that some of these shows try to show some of the background to things like addiction but then they also put some editorial spin on it.
I am so proud of you! You have such strength. I watched your video about how you had you baby in jail, and how you pulled through the hardest situation to be a mom. I cried I laughed and I just fell in love with you and your amazing journey. Love you beautiful 🥰
Love you Jess, look forward to checking RUclips every morning to see if there’s a post from you! My husband and I just finished BB again a few months ago for the 5th or 6th time. Lots of love to you and your family from Tx.
I am very confused by people commenting "oh my god theres a crisis going on and this isnt the time" on so many youtube videos, its like....we cannot talk about it 24-7, we need a break and we shouldnt get mad at people for making videos on topics outside of how awful things are right now. I didnt see anyone say this on Jessica's video but ive seen it on beauty and comedy videos and it's so odd
I am so glad you made this video because I just finished Breaking Bad a few months ago after watching it for a few weeks. This is awesome the time I started watching a lot of drug videos on RUclips so I like to connect but I’m new to what they showed in the show. This video is perfect!
I love hearing people's reviews on shows like this that are experts on the topic. It's interesting to see how it compares to reality. Obviously shows are never going to be completely realistic. But I'm impressed that there's realistic parts in it.
I love BB too, I watched it whilst on maternity leave before having my daughter. 😀 great little video, just what I needed stuck home with a chest infection.
I have never watched even one episode. You have convinced me to give it a try, I mean we are all self distancing and actually self isolating here anyways! I live on a small Indian Reservation in Northern Ontario and have to travel over an hour to get to the city but we are situated close to the only bridge that allows people to get from the east side of Canada to the west, so we have people from all over stopping for gas or coffee along the way. So we are all being extra mindful of everywhere we could go. We have even stopped using cash up here for transactions, the banks have mostly closed so the stores are sending out messages to not bring cash cause they are only accepting debit/credit cards now. I also have stage 4 cancer so I’m sure I will be able to relate to the character. I guess long story short what I’m trying to say is yes! During this most stressful time, I’m going to watch Breaking Bad! Thanks Jess✌🏼
I love that you were comparing between real culture and the show, but also that it was a very honest review of the show XD You made me want to rewatch it
The show is amazing. I cried when Mike died. I just love his character. I did however, watch the first few seasons of Better Call Saul before I was able to get my hands on Breaking Bad. Only because I live in the mountains where internet connections suck. I’m so glad you mentioned Better Call Saul...love it too, which is probably why I loved Mike too. It kinda goes off in a different direction, but it gives you the back story. I’m not sure every Breaking Bad fan realizes it’s out there, maybe. Breaking Bad is so awesome though. You definitely won’t get bored.
I'm obsessed with Breaking Bad and the evolution of the characters. The movie is called el Camino but there just wasn't enough story left for it. Breaking Bad marathon would be perfect while stuck inside, especially if someone hasn't seen it. Loved this video!
You NEED to see the movie! It’s amazing, I definitely wanted more from it but as a die hard fan it’s hard to accept an end lol. It’s called El Camino by the way
Jess I highly recommend going and watching El Camino (the BB movie). It is SO good. I actually went and watched the series before I went and watched the movie. Both were great!
I feel so bad every youtuber has to apologize for posting something fun during all of this. I really don't think it's insensitive at all, everyone needs lighthearted content during moments of crisis. Please keep doing videos like this! I'm feeling so stressed because everything is Coronavirus.
It’s probably one of the best written shows in history! So is better call Saul, loved this video Jess glad I came across it. I’ve never watched a show over again besides this one now I want to watch it again 😂
I noticed Marie and Hank always wore purple, they had their house decorated purple and one time Hank picked up a purple present and purple flowers for Marie
im a recovering addict (8 months sober) and meth culture is terrifying. i wouldnt wish addiction on my worst enemy. the things ive seen and done are so humiliating and scary.
I was on another True Crime RUclipsr's channel yesterday and they mentioned about prisoners "cooking" in their cells...and I mentioned (recommended) your channel several times, and mentioned all the stuff I learned. I know that's not all that you do, but it's really informative for those of us who don't have a clue (like me). God bless.
It's bizarre.......you look so young and healthy, it's so hard to imagine you as the person you once were. I've become a big fan of your channel the past month....and I KNOW everything you're saying is legit. But it's just nuts how sane and healthy you appear to be now.... Really goes to show how you have NO IDEA what other people have been through just by looking at them now.
Hey Jessica love your videos! I live here in Albuquerque, NM! It was fun to watch breaking bad and see all of it take place in my hometown! I will also say that there are definitely teams down here that are on missions to bust drug dealers. LOTS of under covers!
Oh that digging thing! So true. I did it for about a year when I was 19. I was a lazy tweeker though or maybe just my meth project was doing more drugs! Polydrug - that makes more sense because I didn't think they had meth (or at least not easily accessible with a large using community) in Chicago and New York. I came from Christina's prison questions video.
I just wanted to say that you're very brave and strong, Jessica... I had been addicted to nasal drops for 5 years. I know it's not as serious as drug$, but I've been healing 'till today from that. This month passes one year since I've been free from the xhylometazoline (not sure, how to write it in English).
Great video Jess! I just wanted to let you know I’m also a HUGE fan....like obsessed....I’ve seen every episode 10 times! Maybe more! You did the show justice with this video...real justice. The characters are all realistic according to Briggs Meyers...I love that too
I added so many clips..but RUclips wasn't having that and they hit me with copyright claims. So I'm sorry if this is a little boring 😑💙

When you were talking about Gus, my dog was so confused (that's his name 🤣😂)
Lots of love to you and your family💗
My dog is named Gus too!! I call him Gus Gus a lot lol
Was on your live when someone suggested this idea!! You were so afraid someone would make this video before you but I'm glad you got it out!
I love breaking bad my daughter's middle name is Skyler and my sons middle name is Hank.
I loved that you picked Skyler so many people Hated her but she was just trying to do her best by it
@@amazingabby25 exactly hindsight is 20/20. I was pregnant when I first watched the show all in one go over a month or two with my husband and we all ways loved the supporting characters on that show. Maybe now that I can't leave the house is should start Better call Saul? Hope all is well with you and your in this mad world.
Love you Jess! 4 years of sobriety here, poly addict as well
As I mentioned on another of your videos..I'm a recovering addict. When you mentioned laughing etc..it made me think of a moment when I hated myself for being a addict...I was at work and I heard a coworker simply bust out laughing...not at me but I was mad because he didnt have to be high to feel good, to laugh,...I hated that I no longer could be that person.
I think that my addition to my abusive ex-husband. I felt like crap when I left him in the beginning. That’s a similar dopamine response.
you likely were "trauma bonded" to him. maybe look it up and see if it sounds familiar?
glad you got out of there, I know how hard it is to do. 💙💛
Nikol Stowell Really thanks! You need to realize that I know that.
rumpleforeskin73 Yeah violence is the same thing.
@@rheagalarneau1366 why are you being so hostile? "you need to realise I know that" - no Rhea, this person doesn't know you, how on earth would they know you know that? They were just trying to be kind and helpful to a stranger.
Rhea Galarneau damn man. so hostile.
I worked with a woman back before this show came out and her brother was one of the writers or something, and she gave me season 1 before it came out and it was the best show ever! I got busy when it released and never finished it but I'm definitely going to start it back up now
Jes!! Even before this whole Corona crisis, your videos were THE ONLY ones on youtube that somewhat made me see life in a positive light and wanting to become better. Im in a very weird head space though and your upload has just, once again, made my day ❤️
i knew a guy who’s mother was killed from a meth lab that exploded in their house. he was only like 9 months old. it’s really sad because it was his dad’s lab and after the fire, his dad went to prison for 10 years. so he didn’t have either of his parents because of this. he now struggles with addiction and it’s very sad.
Omg one of my favorite RUclipsrs talking about my favorite TV show!! 😁
Keep at it!
Idk how many times I would scream out "Vince Gilligan is a mastermind" 😛❤ Such a great series!!!!
Better Call Saul is actually amazing. I love it, even though it’s kinda slow it still really captivates me. El Camino (Breaking Bad movie) is so great
This makes me want to rewatch Breaking Bad
This is my day 😍😍 I looove Breaking Bad, just was thinking about to start IT over again! it gave me chills when you mentioned Jesse, and the way he has always said "b*tch" 💞
This was my first show I watched from beginning to end (It is hard for me to sit down for a series, but not with this one!)
Next time you get a tattoo you should get one from a recovering addict and you can interview him so we can hear his story while you get inked... my cousin is a great tattoo artist with a great story.
PS: BrBa movie is called El camino ;)
Ser Golden hand the Just thats actually a great idea. i love that 🙌🏼🤍
YESSS!!!!
I bet one of her current artists is recovering already! Great idea!
I'm digging that idea
Thanks for the early video Jessica...didn't wanna watch any more Corona virus updates...this is a much needed distraction...stay safe✌
Seeing you upload really put a smile on my face when things are extremely hard at home with the self isolation xxx I love you girl xxx
I watch BB and Better Call Saul Once a year, every year, it is by far the best TV shows ever
Omg so crazy I just re-started BB and have been binge watching on Netflix.
Agreed! Breaking Bad is a show that I have watched 2 full times through
I love Breaking Bad. We actually just watched the whole thing on Netflix in like one weekend.
Stephanie Wasson I live in abq and tourists always throw pizzas on the roof of WW to this day😂
@@analymorales9554 😂 that's great
Also loved this show. Thanks for an interesting insight.
You should do one about: ‘The Wire’ aswell
I love that you were comparing between real culture and the show, but also that it was a very honest review of the show XD You made me want to rewatch it
Thank you for not making your video about the virus 😑 I need a distraction and you’re literally the only one that isn’t talking about it! Love that!
I just finished watching this show. It's so sad that i have to say goodbye to all of these amazing characters 😔😔😔
Now I have to go watch BB...For the Millionth time 😂😂😂 think I've been sober long enough to watch
The Breaking Bad movie is called “El Camino” and it’s SO GOOD
Omg yes it is
Anni Anxiety awe thank you 💓
I just watched Breaking Bad last year after years of people telling me to watch it. It’s AMAZING!! My man and I both loved it!
I discovered Jess a couple weeks ago n I luv her so much
BB was an amazing show. I'm not able to relate to any of it, but after the first episode it was amazing.
Keep the content coming girl we love you & need you to keep us sane🥰🥰 xxx
I'm obsessed with Breaking Bad and the evolution of the characters. The movie is called el Camino but there just wasn't enough story left for it. Breaking Bad marathon would be perfect while stuck inside, especially if someone hasn't seen it. Loved this video!
You NEED to see the movie! It’s amazing, I definitely wanted more from it but as a die hard fan it’s hard to accept an end lol. It’s called El Camino by the way
As soon as you said “Jesse saying bitch“ I lost it, such a spectacular show
I love how the actor for Jessie played in the movie Central Intelligence and he says "Bitch" lmao.
The most accurate portrayal I thought was when Jesse uses H for the first time. I get chills every time I watch it
Also with Hanks death and how WW was pleasing with them and Hanks last words was essentially “they made up their mind when they got here to kill me.”
Pleading** not pleasing lmao
Jess I highly recommend going and watching El Camino (the BB movie). It is SO good. I actually went and watched the series before I went and watched the movie. Both were great!
I feel so bad every youtuber has to apologize for posting something fun during all of this. I really don't think it's insensitive at all, everyone needs lighthearted content during moments of crisis. Please keep doing videos like this! I'm feeling so stressed because everything is Coronavirus.
I LOOOOOOVE YOUR VIDEOS JESSICA!
It’s probably one of the best written shows in history! So is better call Saul, loved this video Jess glad I came across it. I’ve never watched a show over again besides this one now I want to watch it again 😂
Omg love love this idea and you made a great video! Amazing show I have watched it over 15x whole series! I love it
You don't have to apologize for a rant it helps us stay sober
idk why it took me a whole decade to watch this show but OMG ITS SO GOOD!
best thing ive done during quarantine!
I noticed Marie and Hank always wore purple, they had their house decorated purple and one time Hank picked up a purple present and purple flowers for Marie
Haven’t seen it but watched the video anyway :D loved it!! I just really love all your videos.🙏🏽
im a recovering addict (8 months sober) and meth culture is terrifying. i wouldnt wish addiction on my worst enemy. the things ive seen and done are so humiliating and scary.
I binge watched this show in a week span and then made it to the final season and never finished.
I feel the exact same as you about Breaking Bad! Could literally talk about it all day... the best show.
You forgot Walter juniors breakfast
What about it? That it changed over time?
Mintycorn they always showed him eating breakfast whenever he was in the scene, so it became a joke.
The breaking bad movie is called el Camino..and its so good!
Great video Jess! I just wanted to let you know I’m also a HUGE fan....like obsessed....I’ve seen every episode 10 times! Maybe more! You did the show justice with this video...real justice. The characters are all realistic according to Briggs Meyers...I love that too
