Same. I know this is an old video but I just want to print with black ink. Even went out and purchased a new black cartridge. I can't thought because the CMY is out. Why do I need cyan, magenta and yellow to print a friggin' black ink document?
I was told the best reason for buying a Epson printer was because when one of the colored ink cartridges runs out of ink, you can continue to print in black ink only - THAT IS A LIE. Each of the several ink cartridges must have ink, if even one is empty these copiers will not print and you get a message - "You can not print until the empty ink cartridge is replaced." An even bigger problem with Espon copiers, you select to print in "Black ink only" and yet the colored ink cartridges become empty even when you never use them - stay away from Epson copiers.
Great vid and works brilliantly if you also refill the cartridge when you reset the chip. As for air bubbles in print heads, these do not "ruin print heads" and Epson themselves (along with most other manufacturers) provide utilities in the print driver for "head cleaning" "nozzle check" and "alignment", these utilities are specifically designed to purge air and dried ink out of the heads and "lines" and ensure that a nice even flow is achieved through each nozzle. The biggest risk you run when refilling a cartridge is that you have one with the pierced membrane type of seal (think Canon), these types are really only designed to be fitted and removed once and many removal/refits could potentially cause a leak. "What did you gain?" well if you take an average genuine cartridge cost at being roughly $20 RRP, it'll cost you $80 for a set of genuine cartridges. For $40 you can buy a refill kit with sufficient ink for 20 sets of cartridges (80 cartridges in total), a chip reset tool will cost you $10-$20 delivered so, with the figure of $80 a set, on the first set refill you gain a minimum of $30 and every set refill thereafter you gain another $80, multiply that by 19 and you'll have saved a total of $1550. You can even buy a set of self resetting refillable cartridges with the ink and save the cost of the reset tool.
Cheers. It annoys me that Epson say I need to change the ink when I don't, on average I'm getting 50-60% more usage. One cartridge was reset twice before the ink ran out, although it needed changing very soon after the second reset.
Thank you for the video. I don't quite understand the concept but from what I gather the little chip is programmed to automatically notify the owner they need ink before the person actually does... Mine has been telling us for 2 months we need ink and it still prints great. This tool may be an inexpensive way to stop the notification and ensure you get all of the ink you paid for. Some people would replace as soon as that notification goes off... This guy was just trying to help out the next person. 👏🏼

Hi on the chip rest device what does it say on the front of it please does it say what model cartridge it will work on as im looking to buy one for the same printer thanks
+curvatious I just checked the princess auto. There is one in Mississauga Close to Toronto. I don't mind going there to grab one. I have spent a fortune on inks recently. What should I tell them I want to buy ?
Certain cartridges have a pinhole reset button just above the chip. Not mine though. I have the XP 235. I refilled the cartridges with a kit but they aren't recognised. So I'll try this option.
Agreed. This is shit. Oh yeah, sure im going to go onto fucken ebay and buy some piece of shit to fix this piece of shit. i dont fucking think so. i can tell you what im going to do. im going to hurl this fucking epson piece of shit in the GARBAGE where it belongs.

Hi, I've just search on ebay and would like a little more info in reference to you saying that the oem you are using is NOT actually listed to work with your printer's cartridges. It is not clear in your video whether there needs to be the same amount of pins as there are strips on the cartridge's board. The ones that i have found on ebay have a strip of 4 and a strip of 3 pins on top of one another but the cartridge board has 5 gold lines above 4 gold lines, does there have to be has many pins as there are strips? so they all make connection. If you could clarify this for me I would really appreciate it. cheers.
i also would have found it useful to have seen close ups and more info on the reset thing tho as this video was made 8 years ago i guess Epson have wised up to stop this 🙄
I bought this and it didn't work for me. All it did was make my cartridges unrecognizable to my printer. When you think about it, the threat of drying out the printer heads is no big deal compared to the amount I've spent on buying replacement ink earlier than I should have to. I'd rather risk it buy a new printer if the heads are ever ruined. I guarantee you I wind up throwing out more ink in these early discarded cartridges than it would cost me to replace the unit. I like the unit but this forced ink replacement is way too soon and just a money making grab. I will never buy an Epson again for this reason alone.
Hello I bought some refill ink from Asda but its not working. I filled the black cartridge ink a few times but its just not budging. It still says black ink low. Would the resseter work for an Epson XP-442? Brilliant video. Thank you.
If you get with your Epson Printer "ink out error". I had this with my epson inkjet L355 printer. Tried inkpad reset, did not help, tried reset it with a software to its initial settings, and did not help. Finally I found a solution: Ink Reset Codes for Epson L100, L200, L355, L800 - enjoy! Before using Ink Codes You can try to reset Ink Levels following this instruction: 1. Press Power button - printer will turn OFF and wait 10 seconds 2) Hold Paper button, then press and release Power button- the printer will turn ON and Power Green light will start to blink 3) Release Paper button and press again for 10 seconds 4) After 10 second release Paper button and press for 1- 2 seconds again and release. That's all. This works for all Epson L-series.
i am out of ink but i dont want to use my printer all i want to do is scan a few things no ink is needed how can i get around the error on not having ink. im using an pson stylest 400
My black cartridge prints, but blue, red, and yellow will nly, even though the icon indicates they are full. I removed and replaced them twice. Now what?
can you tell e why my Epson swsx425w is telling me printer error has occurred (turn off ) had it unplugged for months just plugged it back on and well that's it help
Got the one in the video from ebay, type in "ink cartridge reset" and several appear on the page, you'll have to check the description for the correct printer/cartridge.

Well I've made the error of buying an EPSON printer & for the moment it will have to do, who's the guy in the clip? Is he an EPSON Engineer? Is it worth buying the O.E.M Chip re-setter? Online what cartridges can I buy for my XP-342, there are so many to choose from? Does anyone know a good seller on Amazon please? Much appreciated if I get a genuine response. Thanks
Holy smokes!! it works!! thank you sooo much! I have been using black ink for so long! I thought... I do have a colored printer grrrhhh... lol.. ! I got it up and running now! Much appreciated!!!
I have bought 2 different chip setters pone q e -665 lights up but the light stay red and doesnt turn green the out Y X D 968 Doesnt do anything I use epson 220-I FOR MY INK CART. epson for a W F 2630 a new one ,
Gee thanx for the great info... I just bought an Epson printer...Ive had many different ones in the past. They were all junk..Same issue. When the ink runs out just throw the whole printer away and for about $5 more you can get a new printer with the ink.
Epson used all my ink to clean all nozzles. I bought another set of XL inks. I once used an aftermarket to save money. They are smart and blocked the aftermarket.
That's why you must NEVER allow your printer to update its firmware over the internet automatically. Firmware updates are the Trojan Horse that block third party ink. Maufacturers want monopoly, not competition.
elassesino blanco These they come different models you have to check your printers and before you buy the chip reset you have to look if it has the same model you have of printer.
Can I just install some drivers that force pass thous settings that stop the printing? and force it to use the black even if it ran out? I will know when the ink is indeed ran out, as we have eyes that clearly can see white paper with no black ink when it runs out :D
>>Now you can use all the ink in the cartridge There is a reason why some ink MUST be left in the cartridge! If air bubbles get into the lines, it can ruin the print heads! There has to be a bit of ink left in the cartridges to avoid this. Resetting the chip now shows the cartridge is full. Clearly that's wrong! Resetting the chip didn't miraculously put more ink inside the cartridge, it's a big lie. What did you gain?
So you are saying it is okay to pay the ridiculous amount asked, for the ink cartridges (more than it costs to buy a whole new printer with ink included) and then throwing away the same over priced cartridge with it being half full...SOUNDS AMAZING!!!! WHERE DO I SIGN UP?????!!!! The printer I currently have is the first one that I actually spent more than the cost of a replacement printer for new ink. I kept the old cartridges in a vacuum sealed bag, just in case. If I can find a way to reset the chip, GREAT!!!! If not, then I go back to donating my printer to either the recyclers, or a local goodwill willing to take it and then buy a whole new printer with the ink included...BUT WHAT A WASTE!!!! Printing companies need to go with the times and go green. This proves they are not, since I know lots of people who just throw away their old printers and buy new ones when they need more ink.
Walter me I'm telling you the technical reason WHY some ink has to be kept in the cartridge, at least with Epson printers. I'm telling you how silly it is to think resetting the cartridge is doing anything useful (of course it's not filling it with more ink). Is the price of the ink ridiculous? That's up to each consumer to decide. You gain nothing by resetting the chip and can do damage to the printer, end of story.
Andrew Rodney Do you not think the price of ink is excessive? I sure do, especially since my cartridge is easily half full! I mean come on, does the printer need a half full cartridge as a safety measure...and do you really think it costs them that much for maybe 80 ml of ink? It has gone down since I first bought my printer, but it is still excessive. If you disagree, then you make more money than you know what to do with...or just lack sense. My point, is that since printers are so cheap, when and or if, this method finally ruins my printer, I will just buy another, at the same price, or less than the cost of all the replacement ink. Do you not see the problem here? .....do you work for Epson by any chance?
Walter me What either of us thinks is an excessive price is moot. The facts are, IF you don't leave some ink in the cartridge, air can enter the lines and damage the printer heads. That's why Epson printers ship with a shipping fluid in the lines before you even add the first cartridges. Using the tool to reset the chip can ruin your printer, end of story. As for your idea that half the ink is still in the cartridge, that's for you to prove (create a video showing this), otherwise you're simply making up a false claim. As for do I work for Epson, you can easily see what I do on my web site. I was an instructor at the Epson Print Academy where we taught photographers the facts as provided here, that there IS a reason why some ink has to be left in the cartridges. I can't get all the toothpaste out of a tube or all the shampoo out of the bottle too, and in those cases, the inability to get every last drop doesn't affect the equipment negatively as trying to suck out every last drop of ink in an Epson will. Do you see the problem here? And no, the price of a Pro Epson printer like a 4880 isn't such that anyone would ruin it and run out and buy a new one to save on ink, that's silly. IF you find the price of the product is too expensive for you, don’t buy it. If you think getting another page or three out of a printer using a reset is worth potentially ruining the printer is worthwhile, do it. If you think resetting the ink cart is going to magically give you another full cart, you're a rube.
Andrew Rodney Hello Rodney, I am okay with leaving SOME ink in the cartridge, but when I can shake the "SO CALLED EMPTY" cartridge around and hear a substantial sloshing of liquid...I become concerned and feel like I am being ripped off. I would love to prove what is left in the cartridge. First off, I can assure you that when I throw away my toothpaste tube, or my bottle of shampoo, it is, in fact empty and by no means is there any doubt as to weather I am wasting the product I purchased or not. I also did not go to your website, but since you claim to be an instructor, you can tell me exactly how much fluid is in a new cartridge, right? I will then open one of the sealed cartridges I have saved. Since, at this point, you will have to trust me that it is in fact empty as far as the printer is concerned, I believe this should suffice...I mean really, there are too many ways to doctor a video, after all. It will be up to the consumers to decide, based on the actual amount of ink in the cartridge, supplied by you? to decide based on what they get when they drain the remaining fluid from their "empty" cartridge, weather you or I am full of shit. I agree that my printer (the Epson Stylus CX4800 is not the cheapest, but t was reasonable. However, I have a scanner, from a while back that will work as well (it was less than $50, assuming there are updates available and I can and have bought cheap printers that can print photo quality prints and do the same functions as this printer. I do not think getting a page or three is reason to mess with the chip, but if you can get say, another 50 - 100? I think that is good. If this reset was only good for say less than a dozen pages, I highly doubt that there would be any videos bragging about how good the results are. At the same time, if this was a false claim, I feel there would be people speaking up. I myself am going to invest in this resert product, so I can continue using my printer a little longer. If after I purchase this product, it turns out to be bull shit, I will stand on the highest mountain and let the world know, but for the moment, I will remain optimistic. As far as there needing to be some ink left behind, and while we are at it, even if I only use black, there needs to be every other freaken colour still available...well as soon as someone sells a printer that doesn't need all the cartridges full...like say the way it was about a decade ago (insert smiley with eyes rolling into the back of my head), then they will corner the market .
I have had the fabulous ''Epson Stylus PHOTO RX425 printer scanner since 2004, never any problems apart from when I changed from XP windows pc to a windows 7 one and got round the problem by using a windows Vista printer programme. Sometimes it goes a bit funny when the cartridges need changing or just changed, but so easy to fix and soon back in use. Always great results, solid and well made and I use pattern cartridges which are about 1/5 of the price of Epson ones. I dread the day I have to get a new one. Lovely printer, great results and so easy to use.
@@peterwuwei3297 yeah and then when you update the printer, Epson has it not read the new ink and your printer becomes useless. Thats what im dealing with right now.
@@gianniferrari1122 Same thing happened to me. Maybe Epson found a new way to take us they sell us remanufactured cartridges under another name and then fix codes so they won't work
The real point of this vid is that once any cartridge is determined to be empty, the other functions of the printer cease to work. Tricking the printer into thinking the cartridge has been replaced now enables the other functions again. Btw, the cartridge isn't empty in many cases because Epson printers will give premature warnings so you buy more of their ink.
Can I set up the epson workforce 2630 printer to just print in black all the time? Also can I sent the quality to draft to save ink? I could not find the draft setting. Thanks.
+Do Clement go to your devices/ printers, open it then click on the printer, next under print management click on customize your printer, a new screen will pop up, click on preference and that should take u to what ur looking for.
That chip resetter looks so cheap that I really wonder how it looks on the inside. It can't be something advanced that's for sure. I guess they send just enough power through to cause the chip to reset without frying it? Maybe someone knows and have picked one of those things apart to see how it works.
It's actually more complicated than it seems. The resetter has a battery-operated solid state chip programmer inside, it's not just a bunch of wires and some LED gimmick. That's why it's so important to buy the resetter specifically made for your cartridges type.
Somebody shoud sue these fucking scammer printer makers, just bought Epson XP520, printed couple of pictures, went through two sets of goddamn cartridges in no time.

Thanks for this I found this information use full had to leave the Epson Printer XP-312 without ink in for 10 mins as you suggested then put back the ink Cartridge and then it started looking for the ink it took about 5-10 mins to recognise the ink and now working been trying to figure this out for ages this also happen to my previous Epson printer, I will put new cartridge in and had to wait 24 hours for it to final recognise for it to work. was going to do the same then came across your tips.
Epson says this spare ink supply is supposed to protect the printer from drying out, which thay imply could happen if the printer sits a while with an emply cartridge. So better not to do this unless you are prepared to immediatly replace the cartridge when the reserve supply is exhausted.
It is not enough to reset the cartridge, you also need to top it up. If it runs dry, you will most likely destroy your printer-head(it's cooled by the ink). In general you should only reset refilled cartridges, even though there are still enough ink to do some printing. Since the ink-measurement is simple counting of use, there should always be some extra ink in the cartridge when the counter reaches zero- This is to ensure that it does not run dry. Do not get fooled by this, as there is not enough ink for a new "cycle" without running out of ink. BTW: Refill kits are available all over the net.
Yea. But being able to trick Epsom into thinking it’s got a full cartridge is helpful when it won’t even let you print with a full black ink cartridge if your other inks are low
wheres the link to purchase this?? I cant print apparently without having to buy color ink even though im only printing in black ink. such a hassle. epson is basically forcing me to pay for colored ink when I've only been printing black the whole time. EPSON sucks!

Certain cartridges have a pinhole reset button just above the chip. Not mine though. I have the XP 235. I refilled the cartridges with a kit but they aren't recognised. So I'll try this option.
Will this work for xp 15000?
this provides me no immediate help ... Maybe "Product to reset Epson ink cartridge" would have been more accurate.
Agreed. This is shit. Oh yeah, sure im going to go onto fucken ebay and buy some piece of shit to fix this piece of shit. i dont fucking think so. i can tell you what im going to do. im going to hurl this fucking epson piece of shit in the GARBAGE where it belongs.
Doesitmatter?
He could also tell you how to wipe your bum, but unless your willing to pay for toilet paper...
You may be short on supplies necessary for the job. 😆
RESET FOR ALL EPSON: sellfy.com/p/sYtp/
@@lagillas This site does not work- says product not available.
If you could clarify this for me I would really appreciate it. cheers.

I type in "ink cartridge reset" on the ebay web site and checked the description. My printer wasn't listed but took a punt.
i also would have found it useful to have seen close ups and more info on the reset thing tho as this video was made 8 years ago i guess Epson have wised up to stop this 🙄
Do the ink cartridges have to be "!" level? I tried this on all my medium to low level ink cartridges and it just shows a solid red LED.
do yoi have to have all ink cartridges replaced or can you just do the black cartridge
Thank you.
do you syringe them full by yourself then after??? how???
Hi, My epson xp-530 says think pad needs a service. Any ides pleasE?
What should i do if the LED does not turn green but stops blinking and remains red?
How much more can you print with that cartridge once you've resetted it?
Works on all inks from EPSON 835?
If you get with your Epson Printer "ink out error".
I had this with my epson inkjet L355 printer. Tried inkpad reset, did not help, tried reset it with a software to its initial settings, and did not help.
Finally I found a solution:
Ink Reset Codes for Epson L100, L200, L355, L800 - enjoy!
Before using Ink Codes You can try to reset Ink Levels following this instruction:
1. Press Power button - printer will turn OFF and wait 10 seconds
2) Hold Paper button, then press and release Power button- the printer will turn ON and Power Green light will start to blink
3) Release Paper button and press again for 10 seconds
4) After 10 second release Paper button and press for 1- 2 seconds again and release.
That's all.
This works for all Epson L-series.
The canon I had refilled cartridge 28 times could this also be done onbepson thanks

do you know if this will work for an epson WF-2760? Can you recommend the link to purchase the chip resetting tool?
Can you do it when the ink cartridge is "empty" or do you have to do it before? Also, do you have to refill ot with ink? Or can you just use it??
can you give me a link to buy?
Got the one in the video from ebay, type in "ink cartridge reset" and several appear on the page, you'll have to check the description for the correct printer/cartridge.
brill video thank you. however need a clearer pic of the reset thing as it dint show up on your black teashirt. there were 7, 9 etc pin ones so it would be helpful to have seen and have them explained. otherwise fab video x
what if the light stays red??? What do I do then?
So are you saying that any chip re-setter will work to reset any epson chips? I have one for a waste tank chip, would that work?
Not sure, best remedy I've found is to launch Epson printer into bin and get an HP printer. Sorry I can't help more. 👍
Where do i buy it from
Does this work on an Epson XP-430 (9 pins on carts, 288 is cart #)??

Is it worth buying the O.E.M Chip re-setter?
Online what cartridges can I buy for my XP-342, there are so many to choose from?
Does anyone know a good seller on Amazon please?
Much appreciated if I get a genuine response.

where can i get d

Perfect, told me what I needed to know in under 60 secs. Thanks!
I suppose there is no other way to reset these cartridges without the resetting tool? There's no "hidden" reset button?
Holy smokes!! it works!! thank you sooo much! I have been using black ink for so long! I thought... I do have a colored printer grrrhhh... lol.. ! I got it up and running now! Much appreciated!!!
I have bought 2 different chip setters pone q e -665 lights up but the light stay red and doesnt turn green the out Y X D 968 Doesnt do anything I use epson 220-I FOR MY INK CART. epson for a W F 2630 a new one ,
sorry I didnt finish .What chip setter do I need to order ? and where did u order ur s from my cart. is Ld t200xl220
Gee thanx for the great info... I just bought an Epson printer...Ive had many different ones in the past. They were all junk..Same issue. When the ink runs out just throw the whole printer away and for about $5 more you can get a new printer with the ink.
I wish I had known all these comments before I bought this piece of junk.
Yeah! Imagine how wasteful is this maddening throwaway system. Say hello to the environment!
I bought that it doesnt work
Epson XP-335 PLEASE any help?
elassesino blanco These they come different models you have to check your printers and before you buy the chip reset you have to look if it has the same model you have of printer.
Can I just install some drivers that force pass thous settings that stop the printing? and force it to use the black even if it ran out? I will know when the ink is indeed ran out, as we have eyes that clearly can see white paper with no black ink when it runs out :D
No. You have to install a specially modified (hacked) firmware. At your own risk.
finding I want to print in black only and cant the c is empty so now I cannot print unless I replace the color I dont want color!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
a new cartridge it's about 5€. it's nothing. But i need a reset now. All the shops are closed!!! Any software solution?
And... Epson it's much cheaper. It is also easier to configure than hp.
Didn't work at all. Waste of time. It's a brand new Epson XP-615. Simply going to have to dump it. Will NEVER EVER buy an Epson printer again.
I agree with you they're fucking thieves waste too fucking much ink so you buy more
Top gear fan?
Have an xp-6100 which won't print grey scale if any of the other cartridges are empty even tho my black is full. Infuriating!
>>Now you can use all the ink in the cartridge
There is a reason why some ink MUST be left in the cartridge!
Andrew Rodney
Hello Rodney, I am okay with leaving SOME ink in the cartridge, but when I can shake the "SO CALLED EMPTY" cartridge around and hear a substantial sloshing of liquid...I become concerned and feel like I am being ripped off.
How do you know when the cartridge is actually empty?
When your page comes out half printed and faded.
Lovely printer, great results and so easy to use.
...and do a nozzle check after, the heads needed charging/cleaning because the cartridge had been removed and got a little air in it.
Sorted now.
Cheers.
Epson ink is a rip off. I wish i would have known this before I bought it.
Buy the compatible cartridges on eBay that are like $12 for a set of 5 or under $20 for two full sets. Nothing like this with HP printers.
@@peterwuwei3297 yeah and then when you update the printer, Epson has it not read the new ink and your printer becomes useless. Thats what im dealing with right now.
@@gianniferrari1122 Same thing happened to me. Maybe Epson found a new way to take us they sell us remanufactured cartridges under another name and then fix codes so they won't work
So you've just reset a cartridge that is empty and the printer thinks it is full. What good is that?
The real point of this vid is that once any cartridge is determined to be empty, the other functions of the printer cease to work. Tricking the printer into thinking the cartridge has been replaced now enables the other functions again. Btw, the cartridge isn't empty in many cases because Epson printers will give premature warnings so you buy more of their ink.
GEIA YOUR FRIENDS. THAT I WILL ALSO FIND THAT IS NAMED THE TOOL FOR RESET OF CHIP? ; ;
It's a good think I have one of those ink cartridges on hand and this video wasn't a waste of my time!
I always ran mine until it says they are empty, not when it said it was low. Ugh.
That's why it's so important to buy the resetter specifically made for your cartridges type.
funny how they dont do a test page
The ink carts for Epson must be able to refill. ..Not many do this or know about it, but the refill kits are cheap...
Somebody shoud sue these fucking scammer printer makers, just bought Epson XP520, printed couple of pictures, went through two sets of goddamn cartridges in no time.
I'd think lawyers who own these would band together and take them on as a public service.
hey dude nice vid btw can u point me in the direction to the chip oem resetting tool? thnx :)
Got the one in the video from ebay, type in "ink cartridge reset" and several appear on the page, you'll have to check the description for the correct printer/cartridge.
Thanks Matt for the great description. :) Gonna get one of those resets.
I do b 4 its doesn't work
ATG says to just save your money & go to Costco or Walmart. And have them reset for free or refill if you don't like to get the "Green Thumb".
VERY COOL DEVICE.. WOW HOPE IT WORKS AND STILL AVAILABLE ONLINE.. THANKS
You have to beat the 'replace ink cartridge error' alert to get this to work! Be fast or reinstall the software or, better, replace the junk printer!
The stupid message on mine won't go away, I can't do jack! That's what I get for doing a nozzle check.
Same with all these inkjets, Kodak aswell
Epson says this spare ink supply is supposed to protect the printer from drying out, which thay imply could happen if the printer sits a while with an emply cartridge. So better not to do this unless you are prepared to immediatly replace the cartridge when the reserve supply is exhausted.
this video is more useless than an empty cartridge
I have had great luck with the printer until recently……?
It is not enough to reset the cartridge, you also need to top it up. If it runs dry, you will most likely destroy your printer-head(it's cooled by the ink).
In general you should only reset refilled cartridges, even though there are still enough ink to do some printing.
Since the ink-measurement is simple counting of use, there should always be some extra ink in the cartridge when the counter reaches zero- This is to ensure that it does not run dry. Do not get fooled by this, as there is not enough ink for a new "cycle" without running out of ink.
BTW: Refill kits are available all over the net.
Yea. But being able to trick Epsom into thinking it’s got a full cartridge is helpful when it won’t even let you print with a full black ink cartridge if your other inks are low
ebay has them
wheres the link to purchase this?? I cant print apparently without having to buy color ink even though im only printing in black ink. such a hassle. epson is basically forcing me to pay for colored ink when I've only been printing black the whole time. EPSON sucks!
I actually want to take a hammer to my Epson printer too as per the comment below. I am not tech savvy. Took my first one apart as per a youtube vid because of paper feed inoperative at one side hence jamming, and didn't do any good, I was bewildered, I'm no bloody good at this sort of thing ...... so got a replacement printer same agn (!!!) and its been supplied with non Epson cartridges but also a couple of months ago somehow my 'default' settings changed on this PC .... its all about as clear as mud. Like you alanford my hand is itching to get at a hammer yet at last weeks £129 spend for this so-called replacement its getting crazy. Luckily I kept the USB cable as non turned up with the replacement. I hate this so-called modern world at times like this.
Thanks Matt for the sharing.
Just found this video. OMG, my Epson WF545 is driving me nuts. Especially with nearly new 3rd party cartridges which, after several head cleaning passes, are suddenly not recognized by the printer. I just ordered a chip resetter. We shall see!!
Can u please add a link of where you purchased it
I'll try this I've tried everything else .will let y know if it works .thanks for sharing this.
Awesome tip man! Thank you! Also on a side note your T-shirt is Awesome! :)
Thanks Matt, Some of you people with your Shitty A$$ comments. Matt doesn't make or sell Epson printers. He's helping people a way to save money on ink.
I've got a WF-7620 and it seems impossible to reset the ink. My yellow is empty, but I only want to print with black (which is 100%). It's stupid. I don't understand why Epson do this except to make money from ink. I'm just going to purchase the yellow and be done with it.
dude, that is awesome! thanks for the post. about to look for one on ebay. bloody Epson printers!
Bought a new epson printer and it keeps saying to replace ink cartridge, it wont print anymore after printing about 5 pages. Pile of crap printers
