Hey Uncle Larry! My first post.. Been watching your channel for about 6 months now. Wish I had found it back when you started it during the pandemic. I love both the noodling and the discussions. I am most impressed with how you adore your kids and would do anything for them. A great Dad you are. 67 years old and been plunking on guitars since high school. Have always been in love with the Tele Thinlines, sexiest guitar ever in my opinion 😀. Down sized during the pandemic, sold my house and moved to an apartment. Now plunk on a couple Martin Dreadnaught Juniors … love them. Great guitars for older players… thanks Larry, Happiest of Holidays to you and your family! Cheers
Watching your right hand from that high perspective was nuts Uncle Larry. Switching from picking from shoulder to stashing that pick to picking with point all while maintaining that rhythm hand was wild to see. That doesn’t come across as visibly from the head on angle. That was some next level wizardry. This humble student took notes. Way cool man. Way cool.
Dude! I've (happily) seen ALL of your videos. I've just realized that if you have posted 366 videos with an average duration of 15-17 minutes, I've been sitting down watching you Larry speaking and playing for 3,8 complete days (nights included) of my life! Hahaha This is both sad and great hahah Let's make it a week! Thank u for so much Buk!
@@LuigiTerrorMilk - I would be watching Uncle Larry 7 hours a day for 52 days straight... if I did the math right. Definitely worth it!! That is a great idea - an additional thought, “Hello Friends” with a hanging camera image, Tom looking up to the ceiling in the corner and a guitar on the bench.
Good idea, or, “ THEN I’ll be happy.” Noticed a lot of RUclipsrs sell tee shirts with big pictures or designs on them. Those designs are ok when you’re online, engaged with a charming, admirable person, but they just don’t, imho, translate well with subscribers in their offline lives. But a smaller, tasteful design you would actually wear; something relatable to life in general stands a much better chance of being bought and worn. It’s a neat phrase, invites curiosity and is amusing. Just my opinion.
I thought about making him one awhile back like straight outa shirts. Straight outa the kitchen . Because people kept complaining about no more kitchen videos lol
Beautiful playing as always. Loved the Birds Eye view perspective, really great/informative to see from that angle, specially the right hand. Cheers and much appreciation from London Town
Man! I just love how you talk straight. The Princeton amp discussion! Priceless. What are we waiting for brother? You’re the best and spot on on the Raiders!❤
From that angle you really get a sense how massive his hands are, and the unique cord voicing, the A shaped bar cord played with the middle finger and pinky is awesome easier to transition to the C shape bar cord. Homeskooler’s that’s the money move, beside the Cowboys “ stone cold lead pipe lock of the week” pick from Uncle Larry the Greek! Thanks Tom now I another technique to practice after class.
Whole careers have been made on that "sounds-familiar but new" formula. I have thought since the 1980's that Steve Miller and The Cars exploited the basic rhythms and riffs of the 60's and 70's. The Cars tunes were basically a string of r'n'r cliches. So satisfying. Tom. You had me laughing at "Sports Bar Blues." Never heard that phrase before. Reminds of a band yrs ago playing vacation country. We called ourselves, "The Beer Fridge Revue."
You’re from another planet Larry! Thank you for sharing your soul with us. Great episode, Tom! Love the bench work view. Also, learning to pause and let one’s playing breathe like a vocalist is one of toughest things to master. Plus Jimmy Page and his Crowley fascination. A+ work!
Tom, that is the best sounding Tele you have ever played on the show and the licks at the beginning were righteous sounding I switched from watching it on my TV over to my phone so I can comment I am 60 years old and I completely understand about that fender and the Princeton amp and the boink that you are talking about in the tone I used a 67 Princeton with the JBL in it and this has to be one of my favorite videos that you have done thus far I have played guitar since 1979 and I totally can relate the tone and the licks and the sense of humor is killer, I don't know about the string locker drama but anyway, I only catch episodes from time to time but this was very entertaining because it's all about the playing and so enjoyed this that I want to rewind to the beginning and hear that tone again with the bass notes and the notes combined I have talked to you a couple times in the past and Eddie is my logo and it'll probably stay that way I just want to say thanks for keeping it real with the playing and the tone Factor bro!

Man, the thing about vocal lines and guitar is killer! I love the singing of Son House (the long dead delta blues guy). Sat down one day and transcribed a whole live performance of ‘Death Letter Blues’ of just his singing with my slide in open G. The next week I was on a gig and people said my singing was noticeably better. What listening in detail did was make me realise the phrasing, every verse has a noticeably different melody, the microtonal inflections.
