Oh mood. Also as someone who spends the majority of his time on there, the sentence 'what is ao3' and 'summary?' punched me in the stomache.
I honestly don't know what Danny wants from jjk. Techniques are explained, he dislikes it. Characters go through strife and conflict, dislikes it. WHAT DO YOU WANT, MAN!
His take is kinda stupid for some reason this guy loves tanjiro when he literally has all the problems of past yuji but worse. Not interesting, literally unrealistically kind. Like I don’t really care what he thinks of jjk cause it’s clear he doesn’t understand shit. He can stick with his demon slayer love which will end with the most unsatisfactory ending I’ve ever scene 😐

Yeah, when you have so much love for shonen (Demon slayer) with shallow characters, empty world and horribly vague and uninspired power system, but hate on JJK that's, like, 3 times better in every department, besides, maybe, animation... I don't know what to say.
It just comes down to part personal preference and part doubling down at this point cause of backlash, he's gone on record in this podcast saying that he thinks it's a good show just not a Amazing show like everyone else thinks
I do not understand not liking abilities being explained in a show where people have complex abilities. I could see if it was like DBZ where everyone has the same basic power set but in something like JJK or HxH where the abilities are very specific idk how you could prefer to just not know what anybody is doing.
I think the problem is Gege tries to come off unnecessarily intellectual and that’s what people finds annoying
honestly rereading jjk, the explanations get over explained which is whats the problem. i think the explanation works for manga but for anime it feels like it doesnt really matter in the grand scheme of things. the over explanation is what made people confused. like Hakari isnt hard to understand. but people overthink it. and anime is visual telling. it should be easy to just see that Choso's blood couldnt stay solidified and compressed when wet. watch it without the narration in the Choso vs Yuji fight and the visual storytelling does it for you already.
Danny has to be the first person i have seen that doesnt like Megumi like thats crazy to me because i absolutely love him like he is smart, funny , laid back ,chill to be around , good friend , animal lover ,actually handsome (like idk what Danny is talking about) very very strong (verified by me and many other manga readers) , cooperative , analytical and many other things like i literally cant find negatives with this man

Well, I don't really like him either, like, I know he's a good guy, but I just think he's really boring. But probably because in general I don't like this type of characters, is the same with Aki for example, I don't give a shit about what happened to him or Megumi.

Im just realizing that dannys bad anime takes are just rooted in ignorance most the time. 1. Yuji literally had a zenitsu type moment in this episode when he admitted he didnt have to live or be the hero but he had to kill this guy and do his job. 2. Zenitsu literally said word for word that he knew there was a demon in the box but he chose to pretect it for tanjiro. 3. He literally said he would be upset about it if they didnt explain things and has said that multiple times about other shows/powers then gave that as the major reason he disliked jjk and this fight because he doesnt want to understand things?? *Edit "gojo is the best part of the anime by far" -danny "I really just dislike the invincible type character in anime" -also Danny

As someone with Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura, it was cool to see a reference to blood clotting in a show I enjoy.
So as a nurse who recently took their boards that explanation was pretty spot on for medical concerns. I personally like jj’s power explanations and think they help develop the show

@@darknesswave100to me its more so when the explanation is appropriate. Gojos ability, make sense. Sukuna's domain, makes sense. the thrombosis and coagilation thing...kinda not needed in the grand scheme of thing. take that away and it doesnt really feel like you missed anything that the visual storytelling isnt giving you. he can compress blood, yuji points out piercing blood is fast in initial shot but slow after, we see he can harden himself with blood, narrations are fine in manga but i think anime should focuse more on the show and tell unless it is absolutely necessary for a narration (though i prefer something more clever than an outside voice)

Edit: Yuji's fights , from a mechanical/choreography standpoint, are better than Tanjiro's. Yuji also has a lot more in depth/fleshed out character development than Tanjiro too.
Also the only "dumb" form that Naruto really gets is Baryon mode (It's pretty ok as transformations go)

As much as I like Danny some of his animes takes often bother me because he lacks the knowledge of the manga or hasnt finished the anime he doesn’t like black clover but has only seen 30eps & cause of death bating but Bungo has that too😭. His Jjk takes on the power explaining & not liking Yuji is also surprising since he like tanjiro but he also doesn’t know Yuji whole story yet. If he doesnt like Jjk power explaining I’m nervous on his takes on HxH. Also not liking immortal characters but he did say he liked undead unlocked?! Idk if it’s not chainsaw man there’s always something but I think it comes from not knowing the whole story ig

The mall in my home town has a Tokyo lifestyle store that switches between Ponyo & Howl’s moving castle and the funniest thing is that it’s run buy an old Korean couple and their grandkids(youngest looks 18, oldest looks 25-27) and the grandparents are always arguing over what version of HMC is being 😂

I'm talking about enjoyment, if your personality, fighting, aura etc feels boring or not as interesting as other characters presence, you become less enjoyable when you come on screen, if it was a side character, I wouldn't mind, but it's the protagonist in this case which means it negatively impacts his standing in the series. We are nearing the endgame a d he still hasn't established a presence, even if he does in this final fight, I think it's too late

1:21:08 as far as the anime, MHA lost me before I even got to MVA arc, the anime switched the order around and aired the arc that came out after mva in the manga before it in the anime
I like Yujis growth from just "stronger than usual teen" to a smart hand throwing champ. Also am I the only one who felt that Yujis Grandfather from episode 1 may have knew of the jujutsu world? I just felt like he put off the vibe he knew more than he let on with his final words, no clear definition of why he died, etc
seemed like he recognized that kenjaku or some kind of curs spirit took over his daughter in law but its never talked about again

Since you've asked for suggestions for the Halloween Special, go watch The Empire of Corpses. It's a 2015 animation movie, it's a horror. It's basically what if the British Empire developed and employed necromancy. There's more to it, but I don't want to give spoilers.
About Rasengan Uzuhiko, the impression I got was not that it was a touch of death thing, but the "it stays with you forever as long as the planet is spinning" was kinda like radiation poisoning. It's like the thing has a half-life, but it's too long to ever disappear completely if Boruto doesn't rescind it. The concept of it being the "planet's chakra" sounded like senjutsu, though it wasn't, and the spiral aspect of it also reminded be of the bit of info from Minato's oneshot, that the Uzumaki's sealing jutsu were so powerful because they leveraged swirling currents.
For new stuff, I'm interested in The Apothecary Diaries. Insane production value, a lot of court intrigue.

I read MHA, I am really enjoying it, I haven't started JJk yet so i cant compair. I also love when we get villain focus in MHA and was sad it was not better received.

Well it wasn't well received because of how terribly the anime handled it.
I was so excited about the deeper dive into the villains and unfortunately it fell flat whether it was handled badly or not well received. I thoroughly enjoyed it personally and wish it could’ve gone on longer.
But Yuji is so cute tho..
I feel like there is plenty of fun battle manga currently running, so there’s no real space for Kagura Bachi doesn’t stand out aside from the meme.
The best fight this year? I think zero squad vs the royal guard is also good, and the last 3 episodes of hidden inventory as well.

I think the Yuji fight was better than zero squad vs royal guard, and I’m a massive bleach fan. Personally I can’t wait to see Grimmjow make his appearance, that’ll be pretty hype for me as an anime only who hasn’t seen grimmjow in like 11 years except for when rewatching fights lol

I'm currently reading the MHA manga as it comes out, if anyone's dropped the anime due to the drop in quality since the start of seasin five I'd definitely recommend giving the manga a try! It's a lot better paced and just feels like it has more personality, the art is AMAZING as well.

I love Skypeia arc, while it's fallen in rank of my favorite arcs that's mainly just from other arcs coming since and being good.
I don't think it drags, but it seems maybe a side effect of the catch up. Of this is in the way of getting to those more popular arcs, but maybe just watch it to get through it rather than look up arc rankings to justify disliking what you've only seen part of.

I agree with Danny about Shangra La. I think his point is misconstrued. It’s not like watching a stream, bc you watch the stream for the extra content from the streamer and often they’re either better than you, or providing commentary or something. This show is like watching a stream, but then being told to care about the characters in the video game that the streamer is playing. Like being emotionally invested in the streamers elden ring character’s health and well being and progression. Like the nobody is gonna care about the character itself. At least not compared to the streamer itself.
But obv if you like the show, that’s totally fine 😂

Wordcount: Self explanatory.
More notes on Ao3- The site isn't algorithm based- it's organized by tags- then generally by chronological order. Newest fics show up on 'front page' for only so long as they are fresh. Using tags means you can narrow down fics to specific 'plot' points. You can then order by the hits/Kudos/Wordcount- ectara.

I like how they explained the blood ability through narration instead of the actual characters telling their opponents their ability. I do agree that the author needs to explain things in a way the average person can understand.

I don’t really get the slander for Danny’s opinion. From what I understand he *does* want an explanation for powers, he just doesn’t want them to get in the way of the fight or be over-explained so much that it gets too complicated.
Another thing I see people arguing about but don’t get is that he likes Tanjiro but hates Yuuji. I don’t think it’s a matter of personality, as there’s a lot of things Tanjiro has in common with other people, but a matter of character development and complexity.
For example, he likes it when Deku uses One for All in a versatile way and had to adjust to the struggle it brought or when Tanjiro combined water breathing and Hinokami Kagura in the Daki fight (as he made an entire video on it).
Another thing is that he liked Tanjiro’s mental development and struggle, like how he became less empathetic when it came to fighting Daki and barely *tried* to understand her struggle.
Unlike these two characters, Yuuji was great in the physical department right from the start of the show, as he fought a curse easily in season one and could generally control Sukuna when he possessed his body without much struggle.
But I haven’t read the Jujutsu Kaiser manga and for all I know, Yuuji could be an extremely compelling character in the latest arc. These are just my thoughts.

For a spooky movie, y'all should watch Blood: The Last Vampire. Late 90s early 00s, short, and pretty good
The Shangri-La fight isn't supposed to have stakes, it's all just exposition. It's supposed to be intriguing and have you asking why is there this insanely strong monster that you can encounter randomly with unvideogamelike levels of AI. It's also suppose to show the abnormal level of skill the MC has, the fight sets you up to accept he is going to be killed in 5 seconds but then he holds out very long and 'unlocks' something new in the boss. But I get where Danny is coming from, if you don't give a shit about those things its not for you it's a preference thing. You'll only get hooked by Shangri-La if you find the world intriguing and want to learn more about it. In that regard its similar to One Piece to extent that a part of the intrigue of One Piece is that you just want to see more of the wacky islands, races and characters Oda has dreamed up (although One Piece has many other things that get you invested, don't stone me for saying that is all One Piece is about please😅)

The problem with that is he finds out that itachi did what he did for the village and instead of siding with the village because his clan was gonna overthrow it he decides to destroy it cause the village is the reason itachi died which isn't true. He did the complete opposite of what itachi told him
@darknesswave100 Yes I do think it was stupid of him but I think that Itachi was in the wrong . I don't agree with Sasuke wanting to destroy Konoha but I do think the administration deserved to pay .
