I will not buy a game if there’s ads in it.
Ok.
same
Is gonna be like Netflix!! >D
This 🔥
If they can lower prices by placing ads in the title screen I wouldn’t mind. But putting ads mid gameplay or in loading screens would be a no go.
Also if you do this there should be a version of the game at regular price without ads. Much more useful form of a “definitive/gold edition” than we have now.
I ain't paying to watch ads. Companies doing this BS should be forced into bankruptcy by consumers
So force them, you say it should happen then force it. Start a wave that will make people join you
@@Familytube90 stuff like that never works unfortunately. its as useless and ineffective as saying your are going to boycott a game. it won't put a dent in said profits.
@@jenerossitea9247 pretty sure that works you know why ? cause that is literally how companies go into bankruptcy when too many people just don't buy the product
none of these companies are invincible like literally historically this is how so many companies stop being a thing
it starts with small amount of people who doesnt buy but when there are enough people not buying it will start to snowball. whatever the reason for people to not buy it will 100% put a dent on their sales
@@goodisgood153 its never happened in the history of video games. and never will. people like you are the minority not majority. the majority of gamers are casual and don't care nor follow gaming related news. Think of how many sony consoles, and nintendo consoles are sold for example. 100+ million units. yet how many people watch a Sony State of Play or a Nintendo Direct? Only 2 or 3 million if that.
Sadly, ea had its share of sport gaming zombies, that are willing to eat poop direct.y from EA ass
Studios being shut down
Ads in games
Live service games are now standard
"Games" being sold for 70 dollars or another useless editions for more then 100 dollars
Microtransactions are not micro anymore
If someone told me, around the PS2 era, this was the future of gaming, I would not believe it.
Yea you would because you loved to look forward to the next big thing….
FYI games were 60$ on ps2….10$ raise isn’t much….
@@Familytube90It's not the +$10, it's that you get half assed, unfinished games that want more and more money from you. Because a $70 finished, polished, no bullshit game would be acceptable. No crap ton of editions and surprise mechanics.
so singleplayer games make only 8% of total profit everything else is microtransactions. the easiest way to get promoted is to bring in the new money. that is why they are all trying to figure out solutions how to fix single player and make it more profitable. anybody remembers dead space ?
@@Familytube90your "positive" feedback is one reason why we kept getting trash from AAA corpos.
The worst part about this is there’s plenty of EA fans who will be totally fine with this
EA has fans?
@@deprofundis4422K, FIFA, Madden fans
I didn’t know EA made 2k 😂
I'm not just talking about EA here, but I would be fine with it, if and only if it replaced other predatory pricing tactics like lootboxes, season passes, unheard of editions, etc. Ads seem more honest compared to all the other crap these companies do.
@@Jakco808 since when is EA 2K??? Ever heard of Take Two Interactive?
“I am so excited to ruin our customers experience entirely!”
Here's a thoughtful way to do it:
You don't.
No offense to sports games enthusiasts, but they’re the perfect audience for this. They tolerate the most lazy full price roster updates each year, they fully embraced ultimate team gambling, they tolerate ads in their games. They’re truly every companies dream customers.
Because they're not real gamers. They're normies who want to "play sports" while comfortably sitting on the couch.
They're the people who berate and insult the actual people who have games as a passion. Meanwhile they eat up this slop and religiously watch reality TV shows and Z-tier "comedic" TV series whose pinnacle of comedy is making fart jokes.
In football manager (sony) you can agree to have ads on the boarding of the stadium. If you refuse, they only show charities.
@@randomthings1293 accurate.
@@randomthings1293speak for yourself. I’m a sports fan who enjoys playing fifa, nba2k, Madden. But I also play a lot of single player games like Ghost of Tsushima, Assassins Creed, Spider Man, COD, Breath of the Wild. And no, I am not happy about this possibility. Don’t generalize
Honestly I have no respect for most people who only play Madden, 2K, or Fifa. Absolute degenerates... They're typically the angriest kind of people too I mean just go look at their streams. Always screaming and breaking shit non stop lmao.
You go ahead EA put allll the ads in your games you want. Just ANOTHER reason to avoid you and ANY of your products like the PLAGUE.
The question isn't "if", but "when". People need to vote with their wallet but they won't.
helldiver 2 did vote with their wallt by refunding and it worked but that's probably a rare case for this situation
CEO: VIDEO GAMES ARE TOO EXPENSIVE TO MAKE!!!!!!
Customer: How about you take a bonus cut?!?!?!?!?
CEO: HOW ABOUT YOU SHUT YOUR MOUTH AND ACCEPT ADS IN YOUR GAME YOU PAID FOR!!!!!
to be fair....thats probably whats going to happen.
the current state of video gaming is horrible...
No, it's great in general, unless somebody is only interested in games from major publishers and so-called triple-As.
I can't remember last year when I gave companies like Activision or EA any money. There are hundreds of fantastic games coming out every year. Thousands, if you count really obscure subgenres like hidden object games, Vampire Survivors-likes etc.
'Gaming' is as bad as any one person makes it for themselves. If somebody is thoughtless and just plain old f stupid- he'll have a hard time.
Yup and it’s never going to improve
Thanks to PC Piracy.
@@QuantumChrist Yes, I thank piracy every day for saving me so much money from so many shitty games I would never have played if it wasn't for free!
@@takemeseriouslyplx2124 , Games you never played and never own 🤣🤣🤣 No Real Gamer acknowledge Piracy, For us real gamer you're not a gamer you're a broke pathetic beggar ☺️
infinite growth is just the death of everything
We’ve already seen integrated ads through games like Death Stranding with monster energy drinks. These type of ads the least invasive form I can imagine and were still annoying…
“EA”, and “very thoughtful” are mutually exclusive terms.
Ads are a literal plague. If they're gonna infect games, I will stop gaming. But I can't imagine devs, or rather publishers, will be that stupid. The corpos might.
Don't forget the fact that advertising during sports games may be 'normal' in the US, but it isn't in a lot of other countries. I live in the Netherlands and people are not used to that kind of stuff here. So I don't think this approach by EA works 'world wide'.
They don’t care 🤣 what Blackrock wants Blackrock gets. Don’t you people get it yet? Wake up
American football is basically watching 3 hours of commercials with a bit of weird rugby in between. I once tried to watch an American football game and they spent more time just talking than actually playing the game. They'd play for a few seconds and then there were the coaches just talking on headphones... So, they're more tolerant of ads in the US. They see them as a normal part of life and not a nuisance.
@@octavianpopescu4776 And that's why Canadian football is better even if the CFL doesn't get the good players (the NFL does). Better rules that help mitigate the 15 minutes of play for every 40 minutes of talking aspect.
So this why they really want games to be online only
Even entertaining the idea of ads into a payed product shows how far the sh*tter the industry is. This will start with sports games but WILL NOT STAY JUST THERE.
I hate ads. I have PTSD because of all the ads on youtube. Like at some point where stopping you from watching the video if you had adblock on! Now I'm paying Amazon Prime and they started adding ads EVEN IF YOU PAY. I just cannot...Now even in videogames?
Ultimate Team Bots will pay regardless! Getting pooped in their mouths for years and still asking for more!
Ea does ads I'll never buy another one of their titles.
I'll never buy a game with adds in it. They'll just get zero dollars from me now.
Super happy I don’t play any EA game lol all they make is copy n paste bullshit
These companies don't ever learn
I will never buy another new game again if they start doing this. I’m trying to escape this capitalistic hellscape, not be reminded of it.
EA has never been thoughtful about anything.
He's afraid the ads will cause a player revolt.
Andrew Wilson is a fool.
I miss the good old ps2, ps3 and n64 times.
It’s crazy because they could advertise actual products in games in a way that I don’t think anybody would even blink at.
But instead of doing that they’re trying to run full ass ads and video games.
EA and ubisoft is over for me . Worst gaming companies ever
3:25 welll actually one of the best parts about soccer is that there aren’t any ads for 45 minutes.
Okay, if they put ads that disrupt the game experience then I'm not buying any of their games
These companies are literally turning into the corporation in the movie Ready player one
“We can put 80% of ads in an individuals point of view before inducing seizures”😂 like wtf
Cable had ZERO ads back in 1980. Now it's paid TV - ads and all.
They’ve been doing this for years. NFS Most Wanted had them all over. I think if they add them then they have to stay forever as a snapshot in time. Going back and seeing razr flip phones and side kicks in early 2000’s gaming is a good laugh.
Well haven't bought an EA game for a decade now, thank you for confirming my decision.
Same, I was getting ready to unblacklist list them since I don't see them as the worst company anymore and then they remind me why I don't buy their products.
I'm up to 7 years, my last one was Battlefield 1. Before that I couldn't even tell you. I feel much the same way about Ubisoft but unfortunately I bought Far Cry 5, so only 6 years for them. It's not even like I'm making a conscientious decision to boycott them, they just genuinely don't make good games anymore.
2013: the gaming industry has a bright future and untapped potential ahead
2024: How did we get to live service, MTX and unfinished games?
This market needs a crash desperately 🤷♂
I can see a place for ads in sports games if it's on the banners around the stadiums, or something that shows in a reel below announcers speaking and whatnot, but actual ads that interrupt the game is too far.
The second they start putting in ads that interrupt a single player narrative game is the second I stop buying and playing then. There has always been product placement in games that has been super weird, billboards, and using real-world products is really cringy but just about acceptable if not too distracting so long as it is a real world setting.
Anything more than this, and it doesn't matter how good their games are, I'll just avoid them.
Tony Hawk’s Underground 2 is FULL of product placement ads not even related to skateboarding, like Nokia and McDonald’s. It always struck me as tacky.
Sky TV is a premium subscription TV service in Europe. It costs a fortune, but yet it is absolutely RIDDLED with an incredible volume of ads. If you buy EA games full of ads, your PS6 and Nintendo Next gamers will be stuck with this crap.
In a game like GTA (as an example), if I passed an electronics store with TVs in the window and ads were playing, I would actually be okay with that. That is a smart use for ads.
If I am driving around in the open world and see a McDonalds building, that’s another smart use that I am okay with.
If you stop gameplay completely for a 15 second ad, that’s stupid. It makes me not want to buy your product.
Maybe I'm Just a "casual" but yeah, if I play NHL or some other sports games and the ads are in spots that are in typical broadcast ad spots, I probably wouldn't notice because I'm playing the game. If they add actual ad breaks (like madden already kind of did) then I'd be pissed. I'd be more-so pissed if they were in non licensed sports titles because that would just be absurd on both obvious and indescribable levels. Just my humble opinion from someone who used to be a hard-core gamer to someone who rarely even has time to play games anymore.
They can keep that shit 😂.
It's happening some big western studios finally lost their minds.
This will eventually more into "affordable games with ads" premium additions without ads but with mtx
They really need a gamer CEO because who will buy games that have ads on it ! It will simply just kill the fun.
Please, people, do not tolerate this
EA has been doing this forever
Ive seen EA donthis before in a way, they had static adverts on the loading screens in one of the fight night games. I cant remember if it was fight night 4 or FN champion
To charge people $70 and then throw adds in them is disrespectful and not deserving of any of our money
I could totally see young kid gamers watching ads for, for example, character skins instead of asking their parents to buy it. Which makes me sad because then they will grow up expecting ads in gaming, and it will become more commonplace.
All of this is just pure greed. Greed isn't going anywhere.
Piracy world is going to be going crazy.
At this point I feel like these games aren't even worth pirating. They just don't.
How everyone hasnt already boycotted ea, is beyond me!
I boycotted them half way through bf1!
Never looked back!
Death Stranding had monster energy drinks at launch, that’s kinda like an Ad. Had to drink them to increase your stamina. So depends how they’re implemented.
We make billions in money - how do we make ALL THE MONEY - EA meetings! Normies wouldn’t give a shit about ads being in FIFA
As if they don’t already do this subliminally in all their sports games 😭
"How do we do very thoughtful implementations."
That's the neat thing. You don't. You *can't.* Not when the implementation itself is something so thoughtless.
That one Black mirror episode 😂
AAA+Advertisements= AAAA
Many AAAA titles to come then. 😙
When you put people in charge who know nothing about gaming
How will the ads appear?
If the ads are on a mural in a game world or Or the hero drinks a bottle of Pepsi. I don't mind.
But if the ads pop up and fill the screen, it's disgusting.
1:02 they’re trying to bring back the NFS style “built in,” advertising. So billboards will be upcoming EA stuff, loading screens will be ads, the music will be interrupted by ad breaks like radio, etc.
I swear they put ads in will never touch a game from EA. I don’t usually throw “I will never” lightly. The i ly ea game si play anyways is dragon age, mass effect, and sims.
EA will have to smash my console into bits to keep me from playing competitors games. Wont be playing any future EA games, if they do this.
Lol me jumping in just to say nice haircut in the thumbnail 😂
What the suits at EA fail to realise is the minute Ads are a thing in there games, then EA cease to exists.
Sickening. Like EA cannot have enough money, they have to come up with even more insidious ways to make more. Price hikes with come next.
And I expect they'll do this post-release so that the reviews aren't affected by this. I can almost guarantee that if it happens.
The only way I will accept advertisement in games is if you lower the price below $20
There are ads in movies all the time. Heck, some movies are ads. Barbie and Mario Movie anyone?
Adding ads in Apex legends and Star wars Battlefront 2? That's crazy for EA to choose
It’s will always amaze me that EA killed both the Battlefront and Battlefield franchise in one fell swoop.
@@George-um2vc People still playing battlefield?
@@dimosguy correct, but you know what I mean.
@@George-um2vc yeah i know
Still playing BF1
This is a W from EA. I plan to start my own gaming company one day, and when i do i’ll probably have ads in it.
I think its time everyone agrees that EA has warn out their goodwill
I already stopped buying “triple A” garbage years ago. You can’t make me come back for ads. Thanks.
Why does it feel like every single game publisher is racing each other to the bottom these days?
Anyway, the day they put ads in video games is the day I stop buying video games and that is a decision that gets easier every day for me.
games with adverts=No go zone for me.
Unpopular opinion: I don't think ads in some videogames are a big deal, however I firmly believe they will choose without fail the worst options on how to implement them. Think about it, you pay top dollars for a ticket to see a football game and ads are everywhere, you go out in the streets and there are billboard everywhere, at the bus/metro stop? Ads, inside the metro and inside the trains? Ads (at least here in Italy) Yet we all paid tickets to ride the bus/metro. So, let's say your game is a football game or a GTA-style game, I see no difference between a fake ad and a real one on a billboard, bus stop or stadium. I'd rather have this than increase the price of the game. Of course fantasy GDRs (for example...) are a different can of worms and I don't want to see ads on the loading screens, heck no...
Please continue EA, but get used to people buying less and less of your games.
Of course you need Starbucks ads in Star Wars 😮😂
Future overall is looking bleak, we're witnessing a pivotal moment right now, greed keeps evolving in ways one could hardly imagine man, not just in gaming, but the world overall is becoming a dystopian shit-hole, I wish if I could just leave all that behind, get a cabin in the mountains a small farm, a ps1 and a full library of ps1 games, work my ass off all day and retro game till I fall asleep.
Ads on billboards in GTA or a game like that is the only way it'll work
Remember when gameplay and cinematic trailers dropped together??
Battlefield about to have a Coca-Cola collection.
As a gamer... I am deeply offended that this is even a possible idea that is floating around in the gaming industry
Will not buy a game with ads, I knew they would try this at some point, need to vote with wallets
Yeah until the decide to ads in jedi survivor sequel. Then we'll all be pissed.
All the Logitech ads in 2042 were too obvious. Another reason to have little to no faith in the next BF game..
If they put ads in my games is simple. I don’t buy new games. I’ll just enjoy the ones I’ve got and I’ve got plenty…
The more people just accept this kind of 💩 the more it'll happen.
It's why AAA game studios think it's OK to release unfinished, half arsed games then patch them over the first year to get them to the state that they should have released at...because everyone just accepted it.
Ubisoft "people need to be comfortable with not owning games" now EA "people need to get used to ads" it's all going down the route of Ready Player One and if people don't hit them where it hurts....their wallet, they'll continue to do ridiculous things like this
I would stop buying games from any developer that has ads in it
“A meaningful driver of growth” is just a nice way of saying they’re greedy
Wondering if all published made a bet on how to lose the good will the fastest.
I've often felt games should be free and just have ads in them. I will not pay for the "privilege" of ad support.
They can put ads in 70 dollar games. Watch me not buy it
Put adds in my game I'll just not play your games lmao
I remember 2142 had in-game ads. I thought they were neat.
The only kind of games where this would work are basically banner ads for sports games or some super meta satire mega late stage capitalism game in the same vein as Idiocracy.
I wouldn’t be surprised at one point if we see games with ads but you buy the game at a discount compared to the same game without ads.
Nah it'll be full price with ads and a paid addon to remove ads.
I will not buy a game if there are ads
So, all those games will be free to play without BP and/or shop, right?
Well I sure as hell don't have to buy EA products.
