Actually managing to make a helicopter that sort of looks like the real one if you really squint is still EXTREMELY impressive considering the other two modes look perfect, and I dont care what anyone else says!
I've been keeping my eye on this figure for a while. What an absolute piece. The fact that somebody tried this in the first place is mindblowing, and it absolutely succeeds at everything it tried to do. I can't wait to see whatever Metagate puts out next
One mode’s almost always going to suffer for the other, especially in a triple changer, and ESPECIALLY one with such drastically different modes. That said, I’m beyond impressed that this looks as good as it does.
I wonder if MetaGate is a proxy-line for Unique Toys the way Transcraft appeared to have been. The design performs a lot of their signature techniques, like the chest unfolding into the top of the car mode, and the legs flattening into the sides. Either way, amazing engineering, really like how the arms fold up. Whoever's behind it, I hope they make a Crosshairs.
Car mode is awesome, robot mode is awesome, copter mode I thought looked ugly as sin. Maybe I just haven't seen good pictures of it or something. Or it could be the whole movie Drift character I didnt really like, I dunno. I'll give these guys props for having an asymmetrical transformation at least.
This company has my attention. The recently posted pics on ShowZ for their Terrorsaur has me hopeful they know that they're doing. Here's hoping they fill in the gaps for Season 1 Maximals and Predacons that Takara never did.
Love this figure so much. Someone needs to make replacement blades for the chopper mode though. It's actually a great mode, until you add the blades on top, since they're too tall. I can't wait for the TLK version, as I actually prefer the red/black/gold to the blue.
@@peolesdru Honestly the only issue I have with that mode. That and the tabs can be hard to line up, but once you do it's pretty solid and looks great aside from the blades.
When you started changing the robot mode and it wasn't going back the same way it came I was like "No. No way. Not possible. Tell me he doesn't have a helicopter mode. WHAT?!" I mean yeah the copper mode is kinda jank, but what do you want it's a triple changer and the robot mode doesn't carry car or chopper parts on him. I have DX9's Blitzwing and it's pretty much the best Blitzwing triple change figure I've ever seen cause the robot mode is allowed to have the jet and tank parts hanging out on him.
For me the helicopter mode is more like a drone, or just a simple way for Drift to get someplace else fast. It barely showed up in the movies anyway, so i don't mind it. My only small gripe is that the car mode is a little too seamy, but that's also sorta forgivable.
Well it doesnt really have a "third mode" we can mangle most figures into some vague approximation of something else, the Upcoming Toyworld Shatter actually have 3 real modes as opposed to 2 solid modes and a mangled mess. Also I believe this figure is hampered significantly in posability due to the inflexible leg armour and diaper. I think they would have been better off going the Studio series HasTak approach and doing two figures as they did with Shatter, one for plane one for car, probably easier, cheaper and an expanded market.

I don't think my optic nerves can take that much squinting
@@fordprefect294 agreed. That said the outher 2 modes are dame near perfect.

I love how it's small simple motions until 0:22 when the whole car just goes "BLEEEEHHHH". And then he's a helicopter. Another sublime video.

Personally, I really don't see AOE Drift as a triple changer, so the helicopter mode being a complete after thought is alright with me.
Toyworld Shatter and Dropkick have quite acceptable 3 modes though we have yet to see the pain of getting between them.
The heli mode is actually really fun. The only thing is the blades sit too high up. If they sat closer to the body it'd look so cool.
Even attempting a triple changer in the Bay-verse era is impressive. Great sequence even if the chopper doesn't look so hot.
Glad you liked it!
The best dirft made that can triple change hands on they have made us proud.🔥👏
Ungh. . . That sword and head animation tho. . . That's what gives your animations the edge over the rest!
And no hands!
This figure is insane
I hope you also get their terrorsaur as well! It looks beautiful too with this drift
You never cease to amaze me
amazing stop motion my friend as always, this figure is really awesome. grettings from France
Bonjour! I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's a great figure.
buggati and robot mode are perfect. not so much the helicopter mode.
Yeah, in the movie the helicopter looks perfect and the toy version looks crappy
Almost 10,000 subscribers and well deserved! Great video of a great figure. I think I'm the only person that likes all three modes.
I have the figure and I love all three modes a lot.
Vaya figura señor un 10 😎👍 y tu paciencia y esfuerzo para hacer esto también 😎👍
Deseando mirar otro 😎👍
Gracias!

Nope metagate is a new company

Is it just me, but i think thats just Unique Toys under a New Name.
Sure feels like it.

Yeah, the blades for the helicopter look all wrong.

Is it me or does this look complex but doable at the same time.
Now if they can make this figure black and red that be cool As F!!!!!

That DX9 Gewalt is definitely the best Blitzwing.
To elaborate, the Blitzwing I actually own is KFC Ditka. I never shot it because it failed my personal standard of "can stand up by itself".
@@peolesdru Gewalt has been reissued recently, just in case you still want it!
Que genial!!
Drift: Bugatti veron and nondescript heli

Definitely seamy, and definitely forgiven.

You can't tell me this isn't by the same guys who designed the Unique Toys movie figs.
design by Ut confirmed
When did this drop, dude?
It shipped last week and I got it Friday. There's a preorder going for the second batch.
@@peolesdru whooooo
Daddy needs.
Amazing work BTW.
Just jaw dropping.
car and robot mode beautiful helicopter mode trash
Feel like they would've been better off making 2 separate figures. The quality is there, but trying to cram it all into one figure, is... an attempt.
I see it as a perfect Bugatti that transforms into a perfect samurai and still manages to sketch in a helicopter.
how can that thing exist

The helicopter briefly seen in the movie was a bit of a mess itself, so I call it successful.
Oh my God, really?
They named him friggin' "Haiku"?
Ugly chopper mode.
Take my up vote and leave.
