He fought against the best kickboxers in his age category in the world and he remained undefeated at 33-0 with 30 KOs and became world WAKO K1 junior champion. So from a young age there was something special. He kicked off his pro MMA career at 19 years old, getting his first title shot in 2014 at 20 years old and he lost his one and only middleweight fight there. Since that, he won 3 world titles before getting to the UFC, he had to cut lots of weight to fight a Steroid juice Soldic at Welterweight in KSW a promotion that is not USADA registered, and he beat Soldic in the first fight. Bare in mind during that time Soldic was basically unstoppable and surely with Dricus' size even at that time Welterweight was far from ideal considering his frame. Since his permanent move to middle weight it was just an upwards curve. 19-2 and undefeated in the UFC. Currently lands most shots per minute in the middleweight division, has the highest strike differential in middleweight. Statistically every time a fighter out struck Whittaker, he lost all his 6 fights. Lets see July 8th.

I’ve only seen Dricus fight one time, and he almost lost, but somehow grasped victory out of the jaws of defeat. It was very impressive, and he made it obvious that he is a dog who should never be underestimated. Robert Whittaker has fought all the best fighters in his division, and he has only lost to Israel Adesanya.. twice. Based on that, it seems to be an evenly matched fight, and the only reason Whittaker is favored, is because he has so much experience, and has fought nothing but the best fighters in that division. I predict the fight will be bloody, but it will still come down to a decision because both men are very difficult to finish, and the difference could be Whittaker’s experience. He just seems to be at a higher level than everyone else in that division. I guess we will see..

If you listened to any of the interviews with Robert, he is saying the same thing I am saying- instead of claiming that he will dominate Dricus and take him out within a couple of rounds. Dricus shouldn’t be in there with Rob. Not hating, I’ve watched him fight and this is too big of a step for him. Rob doesn’t get tired, he won’t be able to take Rob down and his striking is just not close to the level it needs to be to fight Rob. I hope Rob shows mercy on them knees!! But he will probably throw the oblique kick first strike.
lol, dude Dricus did Judo since 5 years old. At 15 he turned to kickboxing and reached black belt in just over 3 years. He fought against the best kickboxers in his age category in the world and he remained undefeated at 33-0 with 30 KOs and became world WAKO K1 junior champion. So from a young age there was something special. He kicked off his pro MMA career at 19 years old, getting his first title shot in 2014 at 20 years old and he lost his one and only middleweight fight there. Since that, he won 3 world titles before getting to the UFC, he had to cut lots of weight to fight a Steroid juice Soldic at Welterweight in KSW a promotion that is not USADA registered, and he beat Soldic in the first fight. Bare in mind during that time Soldic was basically unstoppable and surely with Dricus' size even at that time Welterweight was far from ideal considering his frame. Since his permanent move to middle weight it was just an upwards curve. 19-2 and undefeated in the UFC. Currently lands most shots per minute in the middleweight division, has the highest strike differential in middleweight. Statistically every time a fighter out struck Whittaker, he lost all his 6 fights. Lets see July 8th.

I’ve only seen Dricus fight one time, and he almost lost, but somehow grasped victory out of the jaws of defeat.
It was very impressive, and he made it obvious that he is a dog who should never be underestimated.
Robert Whittaker has fought all the best fighters in his division, and he has only lost to Israel Adesanya.. twice.
Based on that, it seems to be an evenly matched fight, and the only reason Whittaker is favored, is because he has so much experience, and has fought nothing but the best fighters in that division.
I predict the fight will be bloody, but it will still come down to a decision because both men are very difficult to finish, and the difference could be Whittaker’s experience. He just seems to be at a higher level than everyone else in that division. I guess we will see..
I will be rooting for Whittaker because I like his attitude, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Dricus pulls off the upset!

They both seem to be very good, and Dricus has found a way to put together a nice winning streak, BUT Robert has beaten everyone he has faced except Adesanya, so based on that, I will predict that Robert will win the fight.
Maybe I should have said that it’s a good matchup instead of saying they are evenly matched, because RW definitely has an edge.
If you listened to any of the interviews with Robert, he is saying the same thing I am saying- instead of claiming that he will dominate Dricus and take him out within a couple of rounds.
Of coarse Robert has the edge, considering who he fought and all of the experience he has, but he knows that on any given day, he could lose to someone like Dricus.
That’s why it’s best not to overlook an opponent like him, because all it takes is one careless mistake, and the favorite can lose to the underdog.
Just look at what happened to Usman, or Nunès, or Shevchenko….
Bottom line- RW will probably win the fight, but Dricus has a chance to win also.. I guess we will find out on Saturday if RW is on another level or not.
I honestly don’t think this fight is going to be one sided.. I think it’s going to be a good matchup and an entertaining fight to watch, but at the end, I believe RW will have his arm raised.
