In this video, we choose the base roster for the first Disney Smash Bros!! We have based our picks on the original Super Smash Bros for the N64, finding Disney replacements for Mario, Donkey Kong, Link, Samus, Yoshi, Kirby, Fox and Pikachu.

This is of course just a dream roster as there is currently no talk of Disney making it's own platform fighter like Smash Bros. But with Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl already out and MultiVersus coming out soon, surely it's only a matter of time before we get a Smash Bros style platform fighting game with Disney Characters! Also, having Sora from Kingdom Hearts as the final DLC fighter in Super Smash Bros Ultimate could show Disney how much the fans would love to have a Disney Smash Bros!

You should have had all characters prior to 1999 because I don’t like your roster of characters after 1999
My version would be Mickey, Baloo, Tarin, Mulan, Dumbo, Genie, Robin, and Bernard
I have a funny idea for Riley what if you choose her emotions kinda like shulk joy is healing,anger is strength,Fear is speed,sad is shielded,disgust could be a counter.
I would instead have Link be Peter Pan because in an interview, Shigeru Miyamoto stated that Link was based off of Peter Pan. Then have Robin Hood be Fox because their both foxes and have Stitch be Pikachu because they're both small and cute. Other than that, great picks!

I feel Peter Pan is more of a Meta Knight type of fighter as his thing is flying around and fencing with his knife.

Having Baymax replace Kirby somehow makes more sense than Mulan but I like her proposed kit.
Ralph’s final smash should be the nice landers carrying the opponents and then throwing of the building.
That could work well for sure! Give everyone else the treatment Ralph’s had for years 😂
No Ralph needs to have references to ladders but never actually use one
He’s a donkey king stand in and donkey king doesn’t use barrels in smash
Genie from Aladdin would've made a better Kirby. His neutral special could have him transform into a random character for 30 seconds, or replace his neutral special until he taunts (which would be a homage to Link's taunt because Williams loved Zelda a lot). Also give Genin a Kirby coloration to really drive that home.
I honesty LOVE this idea and I'd LOVE to see a Disney Smash Bros. Style game one day!
He may be an out-the-box pick, but I'd actually replace Yoshi with Winnie the Pooh, as they are both super cute and both very loyal friends. (I also think that Pooh and Yoshi would be best friends if they knew each other, and I have Pooh and Yoshi plushies who I like to think are best friends!) Instead of throwing eggs Pooh could throw jars of honey which would stick onto other players and slow them down!
Oooh, Winnie the Pooh definitely has the same energy as Yoshi! That’s a great shout, love the honey pots instead of eggs too! 🍯

I feel like a way that a Disney Fighting game could differentiate itself from the other platformer fighters is having the assists be like Marvel Vs. Capcom where they are randomly selected from a list before the match, and maybe a focus on the story mode as much as multiplayer (Think of it like a more refined subspace emissary in a way.)
I see Mickey's final smash move though make him wear the sorcerer hat and flood the arena, it just seems more likely to him
The Mickey Mouse costumes are good, but I think you should replace the last costume - which is the Mickey Mouse from the 2013 series - with Sorcerer Mickey. How could you not have Mickey Mouse in a fighting game without his sorcerer's outfit? Also, I love the new Mickey Mouse series, it's a great return to the black and white mischievous and adventurous Mickey that hasn't been seen in a while.

I wouldn’t have tried to “replace” each character, limits creativity a lot
Personally seeing this, I like the idea of Pinocchio as Yoshi, but I think Dumbo would’ve been a better choice considering the fact that they’re both cute characters. And I feel that Dumbo could work better because he seems more iconic than Pinocchio. And also, as much as I love Ralph as DK, Tarzan could have worked too.
Kirby=Hiro Hamada
His whole thing is taking the ideas and inventions of others and making improvements on them; he could use his scanner to scan characters and mimic their abilities. Outside of that, he could use his microbots and the gear of the Big Hero 6 to fight.
Pikachu=Stitch
Since Hiro is the Kirby in my list, Stitch takes the role of Pikachu. On top of his enormous strength, he could use his plasma blasters and ukulele to put up a great offense. Plus, look at the little guy. Doesn't he look like a Pokémon to you?
Fox=Judy Hopps
With Stitch as Pikachu, Judy takes the role of Fox. Aside from the obvious possibility of using Nick Wilde as an alternate costume, my reasoning is that Judy is a very quick character with gear she can use in place of Fox's Blaster and Reflector.
That's all I have for now.
Good concept but if this were to be perfect, I would have Baloo (with his normal and TaleSpin forms) in place of DK, Peter Pan in place of Link (obvious to say), Mulan for Samus, Donald for Yoshi (since birds are believed to be modern living dinosaurs), Stitch for Pikachu, Angel for Jigglypuff (both are pink and love to sing), Goofy for Luigi, and Sam or Kevin Flynn for C. Falcon. Elsa would've been Rosalina. And Ralph and Sora (who ironically was part od SSBU) will still join the lineup. Other characters I thought of who could join the roster as well would be Anna, Scrooge, Darkwing Duck, Don Karnage, Chip and Dale, Woody, Buzz, Bo Peep, Jessie, and Kit Cloudkicker.
and for donald duck it’s not only a part of the mickey feancise (as yoshi is to maeio) but also has his own spin off (ducktales as yoshis island)

I would definitely consider the following characters as my mains:
- Dipper
- Mable
- Grunkle Stan
- WALL-E
- Wreck-It Ralph
- Phineas & Ferb, even if they become separate characters
- Dr. Doofenshmirtz
- Kick Buttowski

I like your idea of Fox being replaced with Stitch, but Stitch would be more of Pikachu's replacement because they are both oddly colored creatures that are cute, a bit rough around others, but very nice to their respective owners.

I also have my idea for a Disney themed fighting game. The roster includes Mickey Mouse, Beast, Hercules, Maui, Stitch, Wreck-It Ralph, Merida, Mulan, Elsa, Rapunzel, Chicken Little, Judy Hopps, Aladdin and/or Genie, Simba, Captain Jack Sparrow, Jack Skellington, Hiro and Baymax, Maleficent, Peter Pan, and Dumbo.
This is a really solid roster! I appreciate that you stuck to just Disney characters and that they are from a range of time periods. I would be happy with this line up for sure!

I like Ediz's idea of a rage meter, Stitch would have Cloud's limit breaker from Smash represented by Lilo's badness doodle above Stitch's head filling up red and if it maxes out he glitches out like in Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has A Glitch, complete with the glowing green eyes. His attack and defense will double with the downside of a cool down period after the meter depletes.
His final smash should be him waving in the air and yelling something in his alien gibberish before Lilo picks him up in the red Galactic Police cruiser. He pushes her to the side as he grabs the controls and fires a flurry of plasma blasts at the opponent. He then activates the self-destruct switch on the ship in manic laughter before he ejects himself and Lilo from the ship as it comes crashing down on the opponent and explodes as he and Lilo land to safety with Stitch holding Lilo in air like an ice skating duo. If Stitch is using the hula alt than Lilo is also wearing hers.
See I think Baymax should replace Kirby as hes cute and puffy like kirby and switches to the suit for Alts /special moves etc. Coz hero is nothing without Baymax. To replace pikachu should be Hercules.... coz he can call zeus to do thunderbolt.
Baymax as Kirby is a good one! They have similar faces anyways! 😂
And I really wanted Hercules in there somewhere but I didn’t think about the lightning aspect! 🤔

I was expecting this roster to consist of only Disney characters that existed at the time Smash 64 released. Maybe that's an alternate version you can try out sometime?
I'd have Tarzan in place of DK because it would be nice synergy with the latest Disney film at the time.
My favorite character on this roster is Stitch, Because he is like Fox fighting in space, even know he is an alien, and Fox is... just a fox.
Also, great idea to put a bar of rage for him. I really like your idea :)
I would personally replace Yoshi with Baloo from The Jungle Book because he's a foodie just like the loyal green dinosaur sidekick, and he's kind of a similar father figure taking care of Mowgli for a short period of time like Yoshi did to the Baby Bros. Also I would do Dumbo for Kirby instead cause he's cute just like the pink blob being a able to fly having his large ears for wings, and can suck up peanuts with his trunk. It would just make alot more sense.

The Genie from Aladdin should be Kirby
Elsa & mulan are my mains. I would love tarzan as well. He would be OP. Disney could use a lot of properties in a fighting game. Especially since they own marvel, the muppets, star wars, and fox. Stewie, bart, spider-man, storm, and miss piggy come to mind. The warner bros. multiverus game is using dc characters in that, so if disney does decide to do their own platform fighter they should include marvel characters.

If I were to make a Disney smash bros game, I would be relative to times of shows and movies
Mulan would’ve been better to replace Link since she uses a sword, can launch fireworks, can use a bow and other weapons
You could’ve made Baymax as Kirby since Big Hero 6 is not really associated with Marvel anymore, plus he is round,lovable and has the ability to copy moves/techniques thanks to the use of learning chips

Would be cool, but chances are the developer Disney hire it to make it would have some hoops to jump through concerning which characters Disney will allow and not allow (like Mickey may not be in the roster, but characters like Buzz Lightyear, Mr. Incredible, Judy Hopps, and certain others will).

I felt like the Sorcerer’s apprentice costume was a no-brained for Mickey, but okay.
I think the best Disney parallel you could get for Kirby would be Marvel's Mystique, but I understand if you want to avoid properties that are owned by Disney that don't really fall under the Disney label. She's also definitely not a main character; there are a dozen X-Men that should come before Mystique, as should Magneto, obviously.

We need a more diverse cast with pixar, marvel, lucasfilm and fox characters.

Marvel (we need a representant of each side): captain america,storm,daredevil, spiderman, invisible woman, ms marvel (but carol danvers), deadpool
Lucasfilm:indiana jones, anakin(he can transform into darth vader just as samus) , ahska tano, obi wan, luke, han solo, rei, finn, djinn, boba fett.
Fox:peter griffin, homer simpson, bender, eggsy, harry/lancelot, alien, predator, archer, stewie and biran as a duo, roger, gaselle, tequila
Cool video, but this experiment would be more interesting if it was kept chronological
Snow White as Kirby would make more sense to me. She’s like how Kirby stands in the shadow of Mario in terms of popularity.
I would have to go with Simba, perhaps the cub version, so imagine if Young Simba's quadrupedal animal copying abilities using different costumes including his adult lion mane from "I Just Can't Wait to Be King" could be inspired from Kirby's.

Snow White is the Kirby of Disney IMO. She is adored mostly for her looks like Kirby. But like Kirby’s popularity being overshadowed by Mario’s, her popularity is overshadowed by Mickey.
@@wizardoferror9942 But her cuteness and singing ability would suit the dynamic of Jigglypuff. Besides, Snow White is plainly easygoing and sweet and Kirby's a toughie. Sakurai did plan to add an adorable joke character to the final product as an unlockable. So imagine if SW could go in Jiggly's slot.

always let your conscience be your guide: this move revolves around jiminy cricket spawning next to Pinocchio and follows him round the stage close behind him and the purpose of this is that when one of the combatants dose damage to Pinocchio, jiminy takes the damage for Pinocchio or in other words he has his own health bar separate from Pinocchios which which is used as an Armor for Pinocchio's.
you some like your grandma: For this move, Pinocchio even though this might not go down well due to this being a family friendly game but Pinocchio regardless pulls out a cigar and smokes it creating a grey puff of smoke with levitates above the ground for a short period of time which when other characters walk into it the become dazed for a couple seconds giving the idea that the character breathed it in causing them to become groggy and dazed like when pinocchio smokes in the film
what do I look like to you a jackass?: this move is a attack that can only be used for attacking behind were pinocchio grows donkey hind legs (until the move is finished) and dose a donkey kick backwards similar to Shrek were donkey accidently kicks shreks groin which and lastly another name for this attack could be "nope you got em" as reference to shrek 2
an actors life for me: This one im really proud of which features honest john and Gideon walk on the stage to walk across it and past pinocchio but when any other characters get close enough to both honest john and Gideon will grab the player by both the arms and take them of screen while singing an actors life for me like they did with in the film with pinocchio

I like most of these, but there needs to be some villains, and more characters from the Renaissance.
I agree I should have done more renaissance characters, perhaps there were too many modern characters? But there were no villains in the original game so I kinda followed that lead!
