Wow, this cover even has a snazzy opening to it. You're celebrating that Thousand Year Door Remaster in style here. 0:32 - Magnus Von Grapple's original theme is goofy, even when it tries it's hardest to be powerful or sinister, so it's fun to see achieve it's strong-grand vision through the genre shift here. It's like this is the version that plays through his head. 1:16 - Adding a chanting background certainly enhances the grandiose of it all. Again, the original version sounds like an attempt to be sinister but is so bumbling and comical in how sharp yet playful the noises are. 1:53 - This feels like a wonderfully smooth transition into a second phase of the boss fight. The original theme doesn't have this many shifts in tone but you tell a different story with such willingness to vary up the same beat through volume changes.
You know, I think that would sound awesome as a head-canon explanation haha. I really wanted to experiment more with making something like this sound more imposing, kinda like a bait and switch!
Glad you like the head-canon. The idea of taking a song and trying to do a contrasting take on it, yet still reminiscent of the original is a nice one and has worked well here so mission accomplished.@@dannykmusic812
Oh my gosh this is AMAZING WOW!!!! Such a banger. Also yess I’m so happy for TTYD, I can’t wait to play it again once it releases. It was such a wonderful game. Also, woahhh that animation in the beginning is so cool! GREAT JOB!!!!
Wow, great orchestral cover! It sounds really dramatic! I like the animated video assets too. You did a great job! 👍😃
Couldn't have done it without the artistic talent who've provided the assets. Thank you! 😊
