Stealing an Airrack thumbnail is crazy. Maybe learn from it add your own twist? Its one thing to take inspo and learn from it, but you straight up just copied it exactly

Airrack: 10+ million subscribers, knows RUclips inside and out
Me: 1.2k subscribers, still trying to figure it out
I really look up to airrack, he has one of the greatest RUclips success stories. His thumbnails are some of the best on RUclips, his designers understand thumbnail theory and the psychology behind getting people to click perfectly. So yeah I did copy the thumbnail from him.
That's because copying from successful people is one of the most surefire ways to learn how to get views. By copying successful thumbnail concepts from the biggest RUclipsrs I can learn what makes a thumbnail work, and what thumbnails work for my audience. From there I can iterate and create my own completely original concepts.
If I where copying from another small creator that wouldn't be good, but taking concepts from a creator who has gained more views this hour than my channel has gained in it's entire existence, I don't see why thats an issue.

@@spinalhiccup I understand but a better choice would be to study the elements of his thumbnail, figure out why they worked, and use those concepts to create your own that is influenced by his not a direct copy.
Gotta put your own twist on it or it's just copying and you didn't actually learn from it. So study why his thumbnails work instead of just ripping it to try and get some more clicks. Because if that works you still don't understand the why behind the thumbnail creation and so you won't be able to do it for yourself.
A good book you should read "steal like an artist"
I know all these dudes and I just don't think it's the best look to straight up copy

@@spinalhiccup I wish you the best of luck dude, I'm in the same boat. Just trying to study and learn why these creators make the choices they make. The why is always more important

Yeah that's fair, I try my hardest to create something completely original based off what I've learned. If you look at my channel only one or two videos have thumbnails that are blatant copies. It never feels good to do, and honestly I have been thinking of changing this one out for a while now, I'm just waiting for a good idea to come to me.
Anyways thanks for leaving a comment, it feels good to hear some constructive criticism. Ill definitely take it into account for future videos (even though I don't plan on stealing again lol)

Good luck to you too. I checked out some of your shorts and they where really good, they have a Ryan Trahan type vibe to them
