- Here is a review of the Blue Underground release of Lucio Fulci's Zombie on 4K.
Hopefully this video can help with an informed choice on whether or not this version of the movie is an essential buy!!

I thought I'd check out some of you older content. I really want this release. The slip is gorgeous. However, of course I don't have a 4K player yet. Great review mate. That cover is Iconic, if only someone could draw you that 🤔😅
Hey blast from the past!! The aspect ratio on here was wrong as well 🤯🤣 this is high in my ALL TIME physical media releases!!!! The slip is incredible, one of my prized possessions 😊😊 funny that you should say that, a great guy on RUclips drew me one for a subscriber mail 🤔....... 😊😊🤟🤟🤟
God remember these from pirate copies on VHS and Beta 40 years ago. Would love to see again but would be on my own in this in my house!!😀
I know, it's was the only way to get them mate!! Haha fortunately my son enjoys them.... but I'm usually on my own with much of my horror watching 🤯🤩🤩👍👍
great review! Almost every Blue Underground Ultra HD release has been almost flawless imo (I’ve had almost every home video version of Zombie from the laserdisc up until now (The 4k disc is future proof and simply amazing) but, i’d keep the Arrow Video version too (It has some awesome extras the blue underground version doesn’t) Hopefully Severin does a 4k set with Zombie 3&4 and Burial Ground (Burial Ground deserves a second go with a ultimate cut with the awesome extras from the 88 Films version all in one big package) 👍👍👍
Had my eye on this one for a while, been hearing stellar reviews for the Blue Underground 4K UHD releases and found a copy of The New York Ripper on eBay for £19 still sealed! Hoping it turns up soon, after your review/comparison for Zombie, that’s certainly the next one on my radar. I’ve always wondered, do Diabolik cover import fees? I know this is definitely over the £25 threshold and some of the customs charges can be brutal! Great video, looking forward to checking out more in the future!
Just seen this Leon!!!! :-0 Not sure about Diabolik Import charges as I kind of go for wowhd with all my imports now, just don't order a bulk buy from them or you will gwt hit by charges, although you probably know that by now......Short story I recommended ALL the Blue Underground 4K's they are AMAZING mate!!!! sorry for the HUGE delay in answering this Leon!!! :-)))

Got my copy from Diabolik as well last week. They were able to get extra slip copies. I'm sure ... CITY OF LIVING DEAD.. and..THE BEYOND..4Ks aren't too far behind.

Pre-paid for my BR edition and SS have done a zombie-tastic job on this release.
@@nickhornby704 I sat on the fence for a while on whether or not to go 4k, but took the plunge a year ago and never looked back.... i do a lot of research before I pick a title but im usually REALLY impressed by what I see!!! remember there is NO blu ray of the movie included with this disc, but the extra blu ray of special features plays on UK players😊 I'm from Newcastle 😎😎 cheers mate

Hi again Ben 🤩 yeah that unit is a cd rack (although currently I've got dvds in it) it holds about 400 cds! It doesn't hold that many dvds 🤔 I bought it MANY years ago from IKEA (I think) about £80... don't see many of them around, but it saves a massive amount of space if you can track one down Ben 🤞🤞 hope this helps and fingers crossed you can get something like it, thanks again for watching 🤩🤩👍👍

Recently got myself a 4K set up just to buy Dawn of the Dead but also bought this gem as well. Fantastic transfer never looked better. Just awaiting Day of the Dead now.
It's essential on the 4K format!! The transfer is amazing and I'm stunned that a movie so "low budget" could look so good!! 🤯👌 just shows if you get a good negative, your onto a winner, cheers Roy, Happy New Year 🤩🤩👍👍

How many arrow video films have you . Just count 56 in total including special edition of day of the dead. Carrie . Nightbreed. Robocop. American werewolf in London. Hills have eyes 1 and 2
I have around 180 Arrow titles, big fan mate, they do some stellar special editions!!! They are great titles that you have 😎😎😎 Funnily enough I'm going to do a video on my Top Ten boutique movie labels... should be good 😎😎

Cool review. Mine's coming this way. Have the Arrow Blu-ray and Blue Underground's 2018 version. Do you watch the movie with the Italian or English dub? Awesome movie with so many great moments.

@@MondoChelloveckMovies You're very welcome. Hope you'll do more reviews of UHD, Blu-ray and/or horror/cult movies. Nice to know which audio-track you listen to first. I'll be keeping the Arrow and 2018 Blue Underground discs, because the Arrow has a different transfer and the 2018 Blue Underground was pretty expensive for me. Oh and I couldn't part with a Fulci-movie even if it had a bad transfer. Cheers (^_^)!
Did this 4K version come with a poster inside? I’ve read online that some of these releases come with a poster but have not seen any posters in unboxing videos. Thanks!
It didn't Roderick, this is the first time I've heard of this mate 🤔 I bought mine pretty much when it came out and I've never seen any other channel mention it 🤔 possibly it might have been the previous blu ray by Blue Underground that came out maybe a year before this one with a Lenticular cover maybe?? 🤔🤔 👍👍

Quick question, I know you basically covered this in your video but I wanted to ask nonetheless. I have the beautiful BU 4K Restoration of ‘Zombie’, when played in my regular Blu-ray player, at least to me, the pq may be the best it has ever been, of course till now. That being said. I understand that a 4K player will enhance a lower quality transfer, at least subtly, I’m wondering what the pq difference would be in watching the 4K restorative blu in the 4K player, against the ‘actual’ 4K disc in the same player. Would it really be that much of a gap, between these relatively related releases? ~ Just curious 🧐
Great question 👍 my answer is this 🤔 the uptick on putting the remastered blu ray in the 4k player would be noticeable (slightly) for sure...but having the 4k disc (which features HDR) will be better in colours and detail for sure!! Mine looks utterly amazing 👍... but i didn't get the 4k remaster in 2018, i had my UK Arrow disc to compare it to and it won by a mile.... so to recap (in my opinion) the 4k remaster will look better on the 4k player but the true 4k will top that....by how much I cant be sure 🤔 hope that kind of answers that question, in a way mate 🤩🤩👍👍 thanks for asking tho 👌👌👌

I don’t know if enough people out there understand that there is a slight improvement that comes with ‘lesser’ transfers in a 4K player, if you haven’t done a video on that you might want to, I get a kick of how you go about discussing things. I have a regular copy of The Changeling (which I have yet to watch) and I missed out on Night of the Demon.....gutted about that!!!!

Also check on Amazon eureka. 88 films. Indicator films they have some good 1s. Also just got this island earth and who dares wins out last week both on Amazon
@@garyturley2435 Yes got the House Collection I think that House 1&2 are brilliant, 3&4 are ok but not in the same league.... Yeah they are great labels I rate them all. Only got Phantasm on Anchor Bay box set..hmmm... I'm not sure how I would rate the Phantasm series on a whole, I would pick it up bu try to get a good deal on it :-)))

Did you get asylum special edition on blue ray by second sight films the picture quality was shit loads of grain. But the house that dripped blood was ok. Also have escape from New York and the fog 4 k with poster and book did you get those
Funnily enough I didn't get Asylum, but it is on my list of wants... appreciate the feedback on the grainy picture.... I can do grain, but if it's overpowering its not my thing!!House that dripped Blood is another one im interested in, so I'll get that 😎, Those editions of Fog and Escape from New York are awesome, very well done, I have them on regular release and rate them highly 😎😎😎😎😎

They are region B blu Ray discs Michael, I will try them on my region A player just to check they are locked mate, later today when I get in from work mate, I'll message you back 😊👍👍

Great video mate, I remember watching Zombie flesh eaters back on VHS but have never seen it since so cant remember much about it, I am sort of blaming you now for making me want to collect more 4K movies and upgrade some of my blu-rays haha, thanks for the review.

I have it. Waiting for an upgrade to a 4K Television though. I also have the beta and vhs of the old British "Strong Uncut Version" Video nasties too, and so many different dvd and blu ray releases of Zombi 2 it's not funny. Waiting for Maniac 4K to come in the mail.

Yeah you're right there, when I'm mixing the video I have to stretch the picture to fit the frame (doesn't do it automatically :-( so on this video it kind of elongated the frame when I stretched it, hopfully future videos are stretched in the right way :-) cheers for your comment :-)
@@MondoChelloveckMovies Set your video camera to 16:9 ratio for recording. Your current video here should be zoomed in, not stretched. All the best.
@@RodneyAllanPoethe video is recorded in 16:9 but in the program i use to make the video it puts it down to a smaller ratio that's needs to be pulled out by corners to fit the box, bit of a hassle but I'm prepared for it now :-o
