I have relative’s in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan that operated a sawmill very much like this one in a very small town named Helps. I used to watch them work the mill! Very scary that blade was. Seemed like honest work. They all moved on to more interesting and better paying jobs I always wonder what happened to that mill. I miss those days. JustSayn
That is some beautiful timber that will come up a treat when finished. Don't waste such beautiful timber as that is worth a small fortune! Mark from Melbourne Australia
That was a good looking board, I don't know how many he can get on that side but I would be ready to flip that stick and get some from the opposite side.
We still have our Belsaw circular in operation even though its older than my kids, it still runs quite well. Of course its a bit outdated (but so am I), with what we use today but its still fun to run!
How well did the Kubota power that? Have a Frick 00 52” blade PTO power and I sold my smaller 40hp Newholland in prep for a larger tractor for our sawmill operation Would you say 70 or 80 hp would do a ok job? Love the channel stay safe out there.
I just acquired what appears to be that same model of Belsaw. I'll pull it out of the woods where it was originally setup and used when bought in the 70's. Any thoughts or suggestions as I go into this adventure? ~P
That looks like a one by twelve. 1x12
Maybe 5/4x12, I agree does not look like a 2x12
Nice video
Maybe 1 1/2" , but definitely thicker than 1" !!!!
2× 12 or 1× 12 means 1inch thick × 12 foot length??
@@senorbuckshot668 first number is thickness second number is width
That’s why I looked at the comments. I thought, “That don’t look like a 2x!”.
Nice old mills I still have a Bellsaw maual operation and saw set and such
Nice looking pine.
Thanks 👍
Definitely like that mill
What Beautiful Grain 😳😳😳 !!!!
No.1 pine!

THAT was a fantastic piece of pine.
It's 1x12
Better then lowes wood
Nice planks!!
That's an exciting Camara angle
Old school. Nice
1x12
Love to have a stack of that....😎
wow, but scary. nicely balanced blade.
That’s cut is like 1 inch thick not 1.5 inch
That’s awesome!
Хорошая машина!!!
that's a really nice whatever it is
We run an old belsaw here on the homestead. its nice but every 4 cuts is a wasted 1x
They have a 1/4" kerf? Holy $#it!
@wesman7837 Our blade will make a 24" cut, so it takes a big kerf. There are thinner kerf blades but the cut dept decreases.
I think it would cut a 2 x 12 if needed but that's not 1 1/2 thick,maybe 5/4 x 12
Good
👍👍
I'm a carpenter for 40 years and that's a 1 by 12
Bel giocattolo

I love mills and tree sap shalom
Sorry, that looked like 1 inch.

60hp Kubota pulled mine no problem!
#1cl Beautiful piece of wood however it looks to be a true 1× or 5/4
🙋
I doubt that’s a 2” X 12”
That blade making giving me anxiety
You have one tooth sticking out too far or you have the corner swagged too much that is why it's making the chopping sound
Efficient ❤
Good way to heat up the saw cutting that slow all the time

Plumb, Level, and straight. Have your saw checked out by a saw Hammer man and you will be good to go!
@@wallacefarmandsawmill Never heard of a 'saw Hammer man'. Is that a check on the blade? P
Yes indeed!
That's a 1"x12"
Yep definitely 1x12
ONE BY TWELVE
Is that Red Oak or Sassafras??
Inhisname 8395 that's what I was thinking!1+12
Yellow pine?
That might be a 1 x 12 .
It definitely is not a 2 x 12
Don't you need to drop the height of that blade about 2in so you don't have so much sticking out the top ?????
Blade dosen't move its stationary
How about 1 X12??
It's looped.
Price
That looks like a 1x12 to me but ok
You mean 1x12?
D select
I have a fully automatic one, which is safer
Nope, that's not a 2×12 !
one by, not two by. sorry
I just got wood
Teeth need to be sharpened
That's not a 2x12 you shouldn't post stuff you know nothing about
That beautiful pine is worth more than red oak.
Very slow
Bell sawmill are a joke
People get hurt with them
I think that look like a one by maybe eight or ten
