I was stationed in Korea (1967-68). It is incredible the progress the country has made since then. I left the country when there were few, if any paved roads north of Seoul). It was agrarian, poor ... a true third world country. What a remarkable transformation!

I served in the USAF and got to spend a year in Busan, on the Southern coast. I met some very interesting people, as I took a job during my off duty hours, teaching conversational English. One of the best experiences of my young life.

I lived in S. Korea for 13 months, in 1972-1973, in the US Army. I was stationed well to the north of Seoul, near the DMZ. Winters do get cold, and summers hot and muggy, similar to the weather here in my home area in upstate NY. The country was still a developing nation in those days. What they have achieved there since I was there is truly a marvel. The people there are so industrious, I think it was just inevitable they would become an economic powerhouse.

I would've volunteered for that assignment. I did become a Criminal Defense Attorney however. & in my Defense, we weren't firing Missiles @ no one in the late 70's or 80's. 2). Getting married to the Cunt I married! Happy Divorced, Class of 1995. Once this Covid-19 is over with, I'm taking a 2 month vacation in South Korea. Why TF NOT? I don't have a GF or Wife, & I'm NOT taking my $$$$ with me when I die. After a great 28 year Law Practice, just like most Asians, I saved, saved, & saved some more. I die, & my two kids will B set 4 Life. Time for me to start living or start dying...
Very sadly it's very expensive to live in Seoul. Im Korean and Im not used to dollor-won change rate, maybe have to have more than at least 10,000,000,000 won to retire here(retire and to have comfort live). I live and work in Seoul and I want to retire at Philippines or Vietnam or Thailand.. but crimes targeting Korean cases increases significantly on those countries nowadays..

Seoul is a very beautiful, thriving, ebullient, subjugating City, what I liked most was its History, the Palaces, Buda, an impeccable underground train and its Very attentive and hospitable People, visit Seoul will no regret it, I went in late spring and the weather exquisite, mild rains. Other beautiful places Jeju, Nami Island, Chucheon and other places that I can not reach, beautiful country Korea, I hope to retourn one day.

I was in Korea in 1975 for almost a year. It was very poor. Many buses and bikes hardly any cars accept the Hyundai Pony car I believe it had Mitsubishi engine. Park Chung Hee was the President long hair of men was not tolerated. I was impressed how hard the people were are working at 5 a.m. they were out and about it is amazing how South Korea emerged as one of the most advanced nation of the World and a testimony to democracy and free market enterprise were people had the chance to express themselves in so many ways. I am typing this from my Samsung laptop.
My daughter will be studying abroad next year in Korea. I am really excited for her to experience the culture as we both appreciate the manners and conservative nature. I can’t wait to see pictures and videos of the things she will get to see. I think she will do well and I’m happy that she will have these memories to take with her throughout her life♥️

I miss South Korea. We been there last November 2019. We enjoyed our 1 week stay and touring Seoul and the rest of our itinerary. I miss our Tour Guide. She is so nice and speaks English very well. What I also like in Korea is there is an abundance of tissue paper . You can find it anywhere. The food is good also. All the places we been are clean . A lot of tunnels. The mountains during autumn are very beautiful. Oh i wish i can go back to South Korea.

I've just got back home to Denmark after two weeks in Seoul and Daegu with my daughter, who's studying Korean. Without her as a guide, I'd have missed out on a lot! I had a wonderful time and loved the food - especially in the markets. The people I met were very friendly and helpful, but they work too hard and get too stressed. Meeting fellow men of my own age (69) was invariably a pleasure, exchanging respectful greetings. Oh, and I loved the trains, KTX and ITX and the metros! The Daegu monorail was great! I will be back, to travel more, and try the Mugunghwa!

I was stationed in Korea (1967-68). It is incredible the progress the country has made since then. I left the country when there were few, if any paved roads north of Seoul). It was agrarian, poor ... a true third world country. What a remarkable transformation!

I served in the USAF and got to spend a year in Busan, on the Southern coast. I met some very interesting people, as I took a job during my off duty hours, teaching conversational English. One of the best experiences of my young life.

I lived in S. Korea for 13 months, in 1972-1973, in the US Army. I was stationed well to the north of Seoul, near the DMZ. Winters do get cold, and summers hot and muggy, similar to the weather here in my home area in upstate NY. The country was still a developing nation in those days. What they have achieved there since I was there is truly a marvel. The people there are so industrious, I think it was just inevitable they would become an economic powerhouse.

Getting married to the Cunt I married! Happy Divorced, Class of 1995. Once this Covid-19 is over with, I'm taking a 2 month vacation in South Korea. Why TF NOT? Seoul is a very beautiful, thriving, ebullient, subjugating City, what I liked most was its History, the Palaces, Buda, an impeccable underground train and its Very attentive and hospitable People, visit Seoul will no regret it, I went in late spring and the weather exquisite, mild rains. Other beautiful places Jeju, Nami Island, Chucheon and other places that I can not reach, beautiful country Korea, I hope to retourn one day.

I have been to south korea multiple times. I love this country and its people. I can say it is one of the best country in the world. ❤ from India
Now I feel embarrassed! I had no idea South Korea was so beautiful. I have only two regrets in my entire Life: 1) NOT joining the USAF out of HS. I so would've been stationed in South Korea. I would've volunteered for that assignment. I did become a Criminal Defense Attorney however. & in my Defense, we weren't firing Missiles @ no one in the late 70's or 80's. 2). Getting married to the Cunt I married! Happy Divorced, Class of 1995. Once this Covid-19 is over with, I'm taking a 2 month vacation in South Korea. Why TF NOT? I don't have a GF or Wife, & I'm NOT taking my $$$$ with me when I die. After a great 28 year Law Practice, just like most Asians, I saved, saved, & saved some more. I die, & my two kids will B set 4 Life. Time for me to start living or start dying...

@@TheBkflorida pretty easy! They have the signs in hangul and the standard alphabet. Everything perfectly signed. A downside is that google maps doesn't work that well (because north Korea safety stuff) buy they have and alternative app. Street food and markets are great!

What an incredible transformation for a country which came out of WW2 ravaged and impoverished - nothing but hard work and discipline . I was in Korea in 1975 for almost a year. It was very poor. Many buses and bikes hardly any cars accept
the Hyundai Pony car I believe it had Mitsubishi engine. Park Chung Hee was the President long hair of men was not tolerated. I was impressed how hard the people were are working at 5 a.m. they were out and about it is amazing how South Korea emerged as one of the most advanced nation of the World and a testimony to democracy and free market enterprise were people had the chance to express themselves in so many ways. Do you live in South Korea as we speak?
I miss South Korea. We been there last November 2019. We enjoyed our 1 week stay and touring Seoul and the rest of our itinerary. I miss our Tour Guide. She is so nice and speaks English very well. What I also like in Korea is there is an abundance of tissue paper . You can find it anywhere. The food is good also. All the places we been are clean . A lot of tunnels. The mountains during autumn are very beautiful. Oh i wish i can go back to South Korea.

I've just got back home to Denmark after two weeks in Seoul and Daegu with my daughter, who's studying Korean. Without her as a guide, I'd have missed out on a lot! I had a wonderful time and loved the food - especially in the markets. The people I met were very friendly and helpful, but they work too hard and get too stressed. Meeting fellow men of my own age (69) was invariably a pleasure, exchanging respectful greetings. Oh, and I loved the trains, KTX and ITX and the metros! The Daegu monorail was great! I will be back, to travel more, and try the Mugunghwa!
