(Re: 3:07) In case it helps anyone:
One thing I did in my workflow when using Outfit Studio in Fallout 4, for mesh navigation.
I was doing a lot of mashups, so navigating into all the various folders was time consuming.
So I made a folder I called "Outfit Dashboard".
Inside of that, I put shortcuts to the multitudes of mesh subfolders that I frequented.
    Then workflow was:
    Open dashboard
Right click on each folder I'd be working in, and "Open in New Window"
Now, I had my three or four windows all very easily accessible for dragging and dropping the various nif files into Outfit Studio.

If the reference to spacing in brush settings is anything like spacing in Photoshop or Krita brushes, spacing determines how much of an effect you get as you stroke the brush across a surface.
A high brush space setting will give you more space between the effects of the brush, a low brush space setting will increase the effect of the brush as you stroke.
The higher the spacing, the more you need to go over the area to notice a difference.
The lower the brush space, the more dramatic the effect.
I just found your videos and am planning to dive into converting several individual armor pieces for a mash-up outfit.
I'm truly grateful you've shared these tutorials.
This knowledge is priceless for the modding community.
It is my belief that more outfit conversions would be available for vastly more body options if others sought out your videos.
I'd post links to them in outfit conversion forums of I had permission.
    So informative.
    You deserve more subs.

Ok it’s official, I’m hooked!! I was hitting a lot of buttons not really knowing what they were supposed to do or how to use them properly. Trial and error and a lucky hit at best. I love how you’ve taken the time to not only explain what something does but show what it does as well. Many thanks from a very happy Little Old Lady! Looking forward to the next tutorial.❣

Thanks so much for this wonderful comment! I had to LOL when I read this...because I know well the feeling of mashing buttons and hoping to get lucky. I'm really glad that the style of the videos so far has been effective; I will keep trying to make them easy to follow...although it gets somewhat hairier pretty quickly with this stuff. Hopefully I can get my scripts right so they land well for new users. I do apologize in advance that I can't get these out quicker; but I hope you will find the future videos helpful even if it takes me awhile! :)

@@ciraeyna-mom Totally understand, the amount of time and effort you’ve put into these videos is worth waiting for. Before I’d watched your video, the first time I saw the red and green dots I thought whoa! What the heck, I am not touching that! Ever tried getting rid of a narrow strap with nothing but the deflate button and a teeny brush…..frustrating much!! Thanks to you I’m off to experiment ……bring on the dots lol! 😄👍

@Little Old Lady Gamer - kudos for jumping in and experimenting! That's how I learned, though I sure wish I'd had someone to ask a bunch of dumb questions when I was starting off (NOT to imply that your comment/question is dumb...there really are no dumb questions since we all start at zero at some point). A lot of this stuff is not very intuitive. I'm not planning to cover deleting vertices for awhile, but I'll give you a quick overview if it helps. The *act* of deleting vertices is pretty easy; the *implications* of doing so is more complex. To delete them, just make sure the part you want to delete is all green (selected) and the rest of the mesh is red (masked). Then go to Shape --> Delete Vertices. POOF! They'll be gone. But...some things to bear in mind: 1) depending on how the mesh was made, especially if there is not a clean "de-link" between the parts, you may end up with a hole in the mesh. You can do some magic to work around this that involves tweaking the texture file too...but that's a lot to explain in writing. :p 2) you must be sure you delete *exactly* the same vertices in the size 0 file and the size 1 file, and this can be harder than it sounds. You can save the mask from one size and apply it to the other size as long as the mesh has exactly the same name (and as long as you don't close out the project in-between); or you can just use your new size 0 mesh and create the size 1 mesh from it to be 100% certain. I will be covering all of that in more detail in future videos...so apologies if it doesn't make a lot of sense for now! But give it a whirl and see what happens! You can't really break anything unless you accidentally overwrite the original mesh...so I'd definitely keep at least one backup copy somewhere. Happy OS'ing! :)

Behold: A and D to increase /decrease selections, with smart selection on top of it!?
Blew my mind. I could have used that SO MANY TIMES.

I stumbled upon some of your videos today in the course of trying to figure a couple things out and I'm very glad I did! I'm fairly new to modding (and very new to 3D modeling) and have been playing around in OS for a couple weeks now, but this video alone has taught me a whole lot that I hadn't figured out yet and a few things I didn't even know I needed to know. The amount of thought and effort that you put into these tutorials is very apparent and greatly appreciated!

Vert's are link or not link by the creator, for example some creators make tops and pants as ceperate items, some don't, they make belts stand alone or sometimes as part of the clothing

Hello and welcome! You can see my video about Vertex Colors here: ruclips.net/video/Kau3WHVOnQw/видео.htmlsi=tDK_CZwvDcKl87ni But that might not help you, depending on what you mean by "it's just darkness." You might have the wrong texture paths, bad normals, or other possible issues affecting the texture of your outfit. If you can describe the problem more, I can try to offer other suggestions!

    • @ciraeyna-mom
      @ciraeyna-mom  9 месяцев назад

Hmmm, I am sorry but I don't have an obvious answer - other than to be sure you have followed each step in the Vertex Colors video. And make sure you don't accidentally have your mesh 'masked' because that makes it all look dark as well. Or, you can check the normals and fix those in NifSkope - that might be the issue. See my NifSkope videos for that. :) If none of that helps, then I suggest you join the Ousnius Modding Discord and ask for more help there! discord.gg/2qg2Rzw
