I am 41. My big brother is 51. He still comes over and fixes my plumbing issues and helps me around the house when I need him. It’s good to have a good big brother.
I feel like money or greed is like mass and gravity in Astro physics; the more you have the more it attracts, and the more it becomes central to the person. It seems incredibly rare that you find someone who gets to that extreme level of wealth where it isn’t the defining feature of their lives.
I love you talking about the subject of the video, keep being you ,pause all you want I've been a Ren fan for the past 8 years and always look forward to peoples breakdown of his art sending big love to you and your family from the UK ❤❤❤❤
Loved this reaction, I have watched loads of reactions to this song and you are the first one I've seen mention the spelling of prophet as opposed to profit, subbed 🤜🤛👌
Ren wanted to release this video in time for his sister's birthday but his health setback got in the way. I heard that he got to be with her on the day.
Good morning Keilani. I am so glad you were able to get to this newest masterpiece from Ren. I thought I would make some things clearer for you concerning this particular song so let's discuss it. This song is not a continuation of the Money Game series nor related to Money Game. It is not Part 4. This is a separate song that, instead of being about anger and expressive aggression, is about sorrow and frustration about the KujoBeats situation, a way to thank and celebrate his sister's birthday and life, and to come to terms with what it all means for himself. The opening sequence was voiced by his dear friend Kit and it is a passage from the Bible, precisely Timothy 6:6-10. This was recorded in Brighton before he had to go back to Canada due to his health issues. Multiple members of his production team, including himself, were involved in the actual cinematography which is bloody brilliant. This video, by itself, should get a goddamn award. The beat was produced in collaboration with another beats producer, named Nayz, who is a brilliant beats producer, and also experienced the same greed and attention from KujoBeats, so he is splitting the proceeds and ownership of the Master 50/50 with Nayz. Nayz and Ren worked together closely on this project and its really amazing. Please go check out Nayz's work here: www.youtube.com/@nayz Originally, the song was supposed to release on the day of his sister's birthday, but due to his health, scheduling conflicts, and other BTS issues, it got delayed significantly, but we're all joyful that it still got released. His sister is named Leah. She is not a professional artist, like Ren is, but is a homesteader, living off grid and off her own land for energy, food, water, security, and joy. She is an amazing young woman and I am certain that while she does not express herself in the same way Ren does, knowing Ren and their parents, I am certain she has the same level of grit and ferocity for life. The title of the song, just as the words are, are a double entendre of itself: Money Ties (money is what binds us together and keeps us from 'running' away) and Monetise (to gain monetary wealth from the products or services one provides expressly for the purpose of monetary gain). As others have suggested, the usage of AutoTune is strictly for artistic purposes. He has used it in several other songs, often sparingly even in those instances, to make an artistic point or form of expression. Ren does not use AutoTune regularly. He even made a comment, if I recall correctly, during his interview with Knox Hill almost a year ago, about AutoTune and that he feels it is a TOOL to be used for the purpose of art and if an artist uses AutoTune regularly, that they should seek out help to grow their voice capabilities, instead of relying on AI and algorithms to make you sound good... or you know, just not sing professionally. He has always said that people should enjoy and make music however they wish, but not at the expense of themselves and their gifts. This is easily one of Ren's best songs. Period. It is so rich in texture, intent, meaning, sound, scope, visuals, and artistry. It is like... a second Hi Ren, but perhaps the next chapter of Ren. It feels like a new chapter, a new start, like something has come and gone and it's ok. BTW, I am unsure if others have commented on this, but Ren's favorite song from the Sick Boi album is Seven Sins. It is all about Sin (related to the Money Game series), but most specifically, the first half is about his own personal struggle with sin, his struggles with his illness, and how he relates to it all. Also, for more of his 'mainstream' style songs, if you'd like to hear something more 'contemporary' and 'normalised', check out Penitence featuring Molly McKinna. An absolutely gorgeous song from several years ago, part of his Demos II EP, that really feels like a mainstream pop song, but of course, with the Ren alterations that we all know and love. If you also want to see a massive juxtaposition between his feelings NOW about his illness and his feelings at the BEGINNING of his illness, check out Crutch featuring Bibi, his ex-girlfriend then check out Troubles, released earlier this year. Both are crushingly impressive, poignant, deeply personal, and visceral expressions of his illness. I cannot recommend them enough for really getting into his experiences and feelings about his illness, besides what you've already experienced. Sorry about this extra long comment, but I wanted to get out a lot for you! Much peace and love to you. ^^
The beginning of this is spoken by Ren's friend Kit and it is from the Bible Timothy 6 6-10 . His sister (Leah) lives off the grid she is all about nature and living off the land he is very proud of her and you can tell he loves her very much this was supposed to come out for her birthday but stuff happens and it was delayed most importantly he got it out.
Addiction is never good...we are all addicted to money, some more than others and addiction can take over. Sadly were born addicted and know no other way, but we are the only animal thats used and abused it and we didnt always. My little side bit there but i love ren man ❤ well done i like your reactions :)
Hi delightful smiling lady, I ‘m a Ren”s fan obviously but I’ve seen you also love Aurora”s work and I would suggest you a reaction to the collaboration she made with Jacob Collier for Greenpeace , powerful and for a good cause. You won’t regret It 🙂 Love from Italy ❤️
The actual quote is that the LOVE of money is the root of all kinds of evil. Money is just a tool that can be used for good or evil. But if we become greedy and obsessed with it, we can commit evil acts.
Just because there's a biblical quote about the love of money doesn't make it a fact. Nor does it invalidate any other observations about money. There are problems that stem from both the love of money and from money itself and it's either foolish or delusional to pretend otherwise...
Yes, that is the message that Ren is trying to tell. Money in itself will not make us happy. If we let money be the main goal in our life, then we are letting our self down. It will not make us happy. I'm not a religious person (though I grew up in a christian home) and the bible is a book containing some really disturbing messages and should not be used as a source of truth. But this quote is a really good one. The Love of money, greed, cause so much pain in the world.
Very nice reaction, added to my reaction playlist. Please change the ratio though, make your picture bigger and the song video smaller. Everybody here wants to see your reaction and have already seen the video.
Something Knox pointed out "Money Ties" -> "moneyties" -> "monetize" I don't think "no people no prophet" is from anything but definitely like you observed a play on "profit"
No peope no prophet. No Prophet like a vision of the future but also no people no profit for businesses. Just another ren money pun, basically when he says money both.
First time watching… sorry but wayyyyy too much talking… just ruins the flow of the song… couldn’t make it even half way through. Just my humble opinion
It's a reaction channel, its pretty standard. There's reactors who make a 3 minute song into an hours video (and some of those I also watch). You can of course watch the song on Ren's channel, it's only a button away. Personally I love Keilani's voice, she can talk a bit longer as far as I'm concerned, and it's not as if she is pausing just to say 'wow' like some reactors, she actually has something to say. You could, of course, just choose not to watch the reaction and 'humbly' not leave a negative comment (which would actually be humble instead of faux-humble).
You've done it now Marmalade, the self-appointed 'gatekeepers', of what makes a 'true' Renegade, will descend! No criticism of reactors, no matter how mild or polite, is to be tolerated. Free speech is evil! Conform or be banished! They, of course, feel free to be as negative and critical towards you and your free expression as they wish. They've turned off their self-awareness and thus are blind to their hypocrisy. Quite a neat trick! Their lovely passive aggressive 'charm' makes up for it though. I've heard that their 'virtue' signalling allows them to puff up their already inflated sense of importance even further, allowing them to float away, without a care in the World... :)
If all you're looking for is someone watching the video all the way through and saying "that was cool" at the end, you may as well add some views to the original video instead. I'm sure Ren wouldn't mind.
"Money makes a Man's verb consummate the noun". A simple, yet EPIC statement. Ren is amazing.
I am 41. My big brother is 51. He still comes over and fixes my plumbing issues and helps me around the house when I need him. It’s good to have a good big brother.
I hope that’s the relationship my kiddos get to have, I love it!
Thanks for your continuing journey down the Ren Rabbit Hole. Sending positive Healing vibes to Ren.
I sent the lyrics to the 2nd verse to my little sister. Love her SO SO much.
My favorite at the end- "money ties, mone ties, monetize" and prophet/profit juxtaposition. His composition is so dense. In nearly all of his work.

when things are incentivized by capital instead of humanity suffering happens
"Crutch" is an earlier Ren song that involves mental health and relationships, it would be a good one to hear your views.
Enjoying your reactions😊
Thank you for supporting our boy Ren always love your reactions, watching your reactions fills my heart with joy ❤❤❤
Beautiful reaction thank you ❤

1:29 So excited to see you covering this one it’s such a beautiful song!
Loved seeing your reaction to this one! Thanks for sharing the experience with us! ❤
Hey .
Great reaction.

Ren wanted to release this video in time for his sister's birthday but his health setback got in the way. I heard that he got to be with her on the day.
If you rewind a little, after pausing, you won't miss anything. :)
Thank you ❤
Glad you got to this. Love your Ren reactions. Just love this track. Best of luck in your health journey.

Money Ties = Monetize
No peope no prophet.
No Prophet like a vision of the future but also no people no profit for businesses. Just another ren money pun, basically when he says money both.
He's 34.
Money Ties -- Monetise??
Ohhh good observation! I didn’t see that one!
First time watching… sorry but wayyyyy too much talking… just ruins the flow of the song… couldn’t make it even half way through. Just my humble opinion
Fair point, my suggestion is to go watch REN’s original to experience the song and then watching a reaction to hear their thoughts.
It's a reaction channel, its pretty standard. There's reactors who make a 3 minute song into an hours video (and some of those I also watch). Guess you don't watch to many reactions, knox hills reaction is 3 minutes longer and there are others that are even longer.
If all you're looking for is someone watching the video all the way through and saying "that was cool" at the end, you may as well add some views to the original video instead. I'm sure Ren wouldn't mind.
