I'm so upset I can't like this song multiple times. I'm not sure if people understand how incredible and important this song is. I cry when I hear the guitar and ache when I see how little this song is recognised. Thank you and so much love Mr. Tamblyn. Hey, Magnetic North ain't bad either, if anyone cares to listen! You've got a good one up there in Maple Town!
Ian seems to be very fond of those old Harmony Sovereigns. He often brings a couple to gigs. He's also my favourite player of Nashville tuned guitars. He uses them for more than adding a high end to a mix. One of the few solo high strung players. My late mom was a big fan of Ian, as am I.
Lived north of Pukaskwa for a couple of years and this recording definitely takes my mind back to 'the days of sun and wind'. Thanks for the excellent video, especially for keeping his guitar playing in the frame for the whole song. I got to learn this rendition for sure - haven't tried Nashville tuning yet and this video is an inspiration to give it a go.

Love this. I can almost feel the rhythm of my paddle playing with the waves.
Very nice ...never heard Ian before ..thanks for sharing!
They used to open the real Ottawa folk festival with this song and flow into OH Canada. , right after our Aboriginal Blessing.

I had always hoped to hear him play at the HIBOU in the by-ward market Ottawa.

The guitar inspired the song, which is why I can't cover it with mine (try as I might ;)
