Being intentional with remote workforce is paramount to building trust. Catching team members doing good will get you much farther with building trust than only communicating when their is a problem.

Agreed. The challenge is that the corporate world is so focused on numbers that it blinds people to the the need for collaboration. Remote collaboration is hard work and most of are still learning. It also comes with the irony of a company saying that we must collaborate more to drive success, yet communication is only focused on bottom line and growth. I'm not naive. A business needs to make money. Collaboration is key and it doesn't have to be at the expense of "meetings your numbers".

Simon, thank you. I’ve been trying to help my new company understand this. The entire company is remote, a huge departure from my previous company.

What the meaning of trust in context of the team? And why do we so crave to having it.
In relationships, sometimes too much or too loose make them break away such as friend or couple. And I’m curious how much we need for colleague.

I travel full time so i work 100% with remote workers from the Philippines from Manpower Genius and sometimes Upwork too. Trust was an issue in the beginning but touch wood so far ive never had an issue and i have 4 filipinos working remotely for me for less than the price of 1 staff in the US or UK so its been a huge pay off, they also work harder and have perfect english so i would say im getting 5-6 more productivity for the price of 1 single employee if i hired locally.

1:52 making remote employees meet with other employees is doing the opposite of building trust.
Those employees will be leaving your company soon unless you're just paying them a ridiculous amount.
You have phenomenal takes on the majority of your content, this is not one of them, unless I'm somehow misunderstanding.

Sounds expensive to me. But if my Comp paid for it, I'd go every now and then.

@magnoid depends on if you really like your job and how far you live.
For example, my company came out and said they wanted me to come to a different state for a couple weeks at a time each year, and I immediately started looking for a new job.

Simon says what companies want to hear. After all his customers are companies. Trust is about company culture. Being remote or office irrelevant.

Trust is about more than company culture. It includes company culture but it ends with each individual. I’ve worked for companies I don’t trust but bosses I did and vise versa.
