This allegedly "small" startup is a joint venture of Volvo and Geely, which both aren't small at all. There is financial power as well as a lot of knowledge. This is no "small startup". ;)

I wouldn't be so sure it's a "joint venture" as Volvo and Polestar have a long running history (as a sports mdification company. Much like AMG is to B.M.W.) and to my understanding, Volvo withdrew the full partenership with Geele semi-recently (over Geeles desire to have some part in Polestar, if I'm not mistaken ... which I could be... (feel free to throw out some proof of my misunderstanding).

    2) Exterior & interior looks great except for the lg screen very crudely attached without much thought into integrating it into dash.
    3) Yes, the glass roof looks nice and allows a lot of light in. But I question how strong the roof is with no b-pillar, or c-pillar or roof beams. Great for a show car, but not practical for production.

Rear doors that open backwards have occasionally been used in the past. They came to be known as suicide doors. The reason is that passengers exiting the rear seat would fully open the rear door, step out of the car, and then a car passing the vehicle would hit the rear door slamming it shut, and cutting off the legs of the passenger. Sometimes it's wise to remember lessons learned in the past.

Damn right and truthfully Tesla doesnt have much of a range of design. The model Y is simply an SUV version of the model 3. And the model S is just a longer version of the Model 3. You put them all next to each other and they simply don't stand out much. Maybe that was the intention, who knows but I can definitely agree with you that THIS is how you turn heads. I actually do really like the idea of companies making Premium quality auto parts out of garbage, especially if it is noticably more lightweight.
      One man's trash...

If it looks like that in the production model I'll eat my own hair.

There's not even the slightest chance the production version will look like that.

The doors on an i3 are the same albeit it’s a much smaller car

Polestar leading the way in EV design! I'm so sick of every other car coming out being an SUV without SUV capabilities, just because that's the easy way to fit the batteries in! Battery technology isn't anywhere near where it needs to be and to be truly environmentally friendly, we need to put more investment into tech such as carbon electrode so we can ditch the Li-Ion batteries. Although I like the idea of Hydrogen cell, it isn't the solution.

It is a super car, not sure if an average buyer could even afford this, but surely so, this is so much prettier than a Ferrari or Tesla or even Porche
