  • This is a segment from the 1930 film Puttin' on the Ritz. Originally, this sequence was shot in Technicolor, however, it is only known to survive in black-and-white. In later years, this segment was also screened as its own separate feature from the rest of the film. Alice was played by Joan Bennett.

      I find it hilarious how they put spooky masks on the Duchess, Chess Kings and the Carpenter (who are human) but not the Hatter or card people.

    I saw this way back on Night Flight, which showed a lot of public domain stuff. I thought until now I imagined it staying up all night.

      It's from the Lion and the Unicorn segment of Looking Glass.
