Anyways here I am, posting my first round. A bit early, but I write an exam on the 25.01. so I wanted that off of my list about things to worry about!
What to say, what to say...
WELL FIRSTLY I am soooooo pleased by all the MxD contestants! HOLY is that a friendly community, guys, really! Like it's a contest, but everyone is so helpful and everything! I love them all! I'm so sad that I probably have to leave them in near future ;_;
ABOUT MY VIDEO. I decided to put subtitles optional, because they don't have as much input as the detailed description of this round IN THE COMMENT SECTION!
I know I could've done things better, but to be honest I'm quite pleased. I chose a fast song and wanted all scenes to be kinda fast, since this shows Helgas excitement. (Her expressions aren't that clear... sorry) And well now it happens that the video is suuper short, I hope that's not too bad...!
Writing all the names down on the board was hella work. I created some interesting names tho :D
DO YOU GUYS ever heard of "kirikou and the sorceress"?! What the freak is that movie?! I didnt even find it in HD so the character, I had to show, is only in the background :'D
ALSO "Osmosis Jones" is a freakin disgusting movie!
ABOUT THE STORY. You still don't get to know much about her past. But you get a hint of what may follows, if, by any chance, I get to round 2 (And have time to fit it in!)
You see her walking around a hallway, where she gets caught - BECAUSE of a her name tag! I'M SO SORRY FELLOWS but I wasn't allowed to tell you that! I actually plotted with MxDisney themself, that I am allowed to put that in, since I asked if we get any alien technology we can take apart by anytime.... yeah one follows the others... here it is ^^ So sorry, please forgive me!
And guys... Helga got really offended by Leahs question in the end. (If it was intended by her or not is up to you) You guys know it, right?! That gamers, esspecially shooters, are often accused to be terrorists?! Bullshit, I (and Helga) say! If that's true then GTA, Need for Speed, Formel 1 and so on teaches you how to drive! See my point? Great^^

Helga found herself infront of a door. Without hesitation she went through it. On the other side appeard a holografic screen with an unknown face on it. It said:
"Welcome aboard the United Galactic Federation's mothership! We hope you have all had a pleasant plucking, and are ready to represent and serve your country of nationality. Please take the time you need to rid yourself of any potential vertigo, motion sickness or disorientation that the plucking might have induced.
Upon leaving this room you will find a flag tag by the door. Please attach this to your clothing for easy identification. The door will lead you to the main hall, where you will receive further instructions on how to proceed. Look for the information boards and signs that will lead you to your destinations.
Before you exit the room, please take a moment to calm yourself and mentally prepare for what you will experience. It is likely you have never seen an alien species, nor been outside Earth's orbit. If you are in danger of a panic attack or other medical assistance, please press the red button by the screen, and we will be with you shortly. After today only 7.7% of you will move on to compete, so we wish you all good luck. Once you are ready, please exit the room."
She attached the flag tag to her clothes. Of course she does not need that help. That is the most exciting time of her life!
As she left the room, she found herself in a big hall with all kind of people in it. For the first time she remembers: "All that can be over after just one day... So better make the best of it." And she decided to take a walk on the ship.
She entered a big hallway, filled with any kind of flying objects, but as soon as she arrived, a guard came to take her back. How did they find her tho? She haven't noticed any kind of camera. Seeing the guard glancing at her flag tag, it was pretty obvious for her...
Back in the big hall she went to find the mentioned signs, that should tell her, what to do next. As she read through them (and noticing that she was section 1, group 1, number 1 - what an honor) a young man approches her saying something really unusual: "You look exactly like my wife!" Not sure what to say, or if that dude is even talking to her, she just stands there - confused. But then the sign changes: It's time for the meeting, a door opens.
Behind that door is the man from the video earlier. He introduces himself as Cobra Bubbles - he's the host of this competition... Wait... a human? He asks for questions and of course Helga was curious about one certain thing: "Do we get any technologies or even weapons we can use and inspect?" After a short moment of Bubbles thinking he answered: "I don't think so." How disappointing.
The next station is the so called Medical. Since she was the first in her group, she enteres the private room first. There she meets Dr. Delbert Doppler... Is that a dog-kind-of-thing?? He asks her to go through the scanner and that's all she needs to do. What advanced technology! A short time later, her results were shown on a holografic screen. "Everything seems fine!" He says. "Your major allergy on dogs should not be a problem in future!" What a relief!
She is done, but the rest of the group still needs to be inspected, she uses the time to take a deeper look on the flag tag. Indeed it was a tracker!
The last station was the personal Interview. Leah Estrogen, as Helga concludes of her name tag, greeted her as follows: "Ms. Bekkers, our number one Shooter. Tell me, what do you intend to do, if you, by any chance, get any of our technology or weapons?" Helga was extremly offended by that question. "What do you accuse me to do?" She said. She is sick of hearing that prejudice about Shooter being terrorists. Such a nonsense! Great every station went well, except for the interview...

Ok where do I even BEGIN!? First off it's amazing how clean and perfect your masks are, seriously props to that! Also, amaaazing way you are using Helga, a character with such few scenes, and not even mentioning you kept consistency with her clothes too!! I looove what you did at 00:21 with her eyes moving, WOW.
The panels are so cool-looking and look so LEGIT!! Also I love how she's told not to investigate around !! super creative!

I just love this so much, like I am in awe of how beautiful this whole video is. The maskings, the backgrounds, everything is just so well done! Her eyes moving at 00:21 is amazing so flawless and natural looking! Also I'm so excited to see more of Helga, she's so smart she's going to give those aliens a run for their money
You did a really great job making it as though your character is really in that environment!! It's super convincing. And the pacing/song was a great match as well

This is SO amazing!! Your maskings are very clean and they do look real!! I loved the moment at 0:23, her eyes looks so good!! And the whole plot is very interesting!! poor Helga tho! ;o;

Okay, first thing: your masks are crazy clean o_o Second, I like the idea of the tracker in the flagtags, it makes a lot of sense and I'm sure it must add a lot of tension knowing they're being followed that closely... even if it's rather obvious after getting abducted. It's true that the video is short but you still showed enough interactions and the whole thing looks really nice, everybody fits with the backgrounds, an all in all really good job
Ahaha I'm sorry, I already heard that it was indeed a childhood movie for some people, but watching it as an adult.... it kinda creeps me out X'D

I thought Helga was a German.
Canonacially spoken she is, but in this contest it was a first come first get kinda situation and sadly Germany was already taken, that's why I chose a country quite similar to Germany. You can also read about my decisions in my audition video :3 -SHAMELESS self promotion X'D-

Been trying to find lore vids talking about the lost city of atlantis, and other movies because Ive been so bored lately.
I bumped into your video by chance, and it is very well done that it took me a solid second to realize that this was a fan made style vid.
This something completely unrelated, but regarding Helga. I like military aviation alot. So watching all my child hood movies, I try to envision what type of fighter pilots each character could be. Era of jet is open.
(I have to say again that I am bored as hell with the "social distancing" we are all facing right now)
I always envision Helga as a Rafale M pilot, even though the Rafale is French made.

I honestly am not really into military stuff, so I don't really get were you're going with it, but I feel like Helga fits in great overall - like her whole character and design!
We all have our ways to kill the boredom X'D
