Is it possible to remove key lock permanently as my relative struggles with it.
Try Settings > Phone Settings > Key guard Settings > Automatic Key guard > off (If not here Try settings>display>auto lock>off)

I'm updating my comments on not being able to put a single number or code into the phone via the keypad. I talked to HMD Global and they said it was a fault. The said it can't be fixed so they advised me to take my phone back to JB Hi Fi and get a replacement. Yes it was a fault and I can now input numbers as soon as the phone is turned on and keypad is unlocked. It might be helpful for some, if the video stated this. Turn phone on, unlock keypad then you should be able to use keypad to input numbers straight away. You could also say, to cover people who had my problem, that if the keypad doesn't respond after doing this then it is faulty and should be replaced.

How to disable this option
You neglected to say you need to put in a pin number. I only noticed you doing it later on after I replayed the video because I was relying on your narration and you didn't mention it. You just said and that's how to unlock it. How do I put in a pin number?
You don't need to input a pin unless you have added one to the phone. I am not inputting a pin to unlock the phone on the video just showing that the phone is unlocked and you can use the keys.
Any tips on how to save an mms photo to Gallery? HMD Global emailed me to say that photos can't be transferred to Gallery. Photos you take with the phone automatically go to Gallery. I know it's a basic phone but if they allow mms photos, why don't they have a way of enlarging them? If they could be in Gallery, you could. I hope I can download them to my computer.

I do have a solution that should work but I agree I think that there are better options for your Nan I don't think this is the most basic, basic phone.
Right, I will fire my phone up tomorrow to look correctly for you but try Settings > Phone Settings > Key guard Settings > Automatic Key guard > off (If not here Try settings>display>auto lock)
