From an interview with members of the band when asked about the use of two vocalists: "For the aggressiveness of it, it's like, one can rest and breathe while the other one is going nuts, and then the other one can take over, that's what I wanted to achieve, it's like, I didn't want to give the listener a lot of breathing room, I just want it to be full on, all the time."
Meshuggah and After The Burial are just are relentless with their one vocalist. None of the rest of the band gets to take a break. What makes these two vocalists so special?
I have been listening to countless extreme-music oriented bands for over 15 years and even worked in the industry for around 10 years and I consider this album to be the very best of all albums ever within the very wide and diverse 'metal' genre. One of the very few to be able to move me until I reach a state of near-trance. Their music sticks to my bones, veins and guts in an almost surreal way. Most underrated band.

its hard to put into words exactly how amazing this song is structured. When you take into account the rhythmic value of not having a single piece of silence and still manage to achieve maximum emotion during all the highs and lows without sacraficing the momentum of song. 11/10 a true master piece.
People complain about the open string "abuse" yet they don't realize that its necessarily necessary for them to use more in some of the passages. Some of you may detest the whole 0's thing, but a lot of you people aren't listening to the track as a whole. You're fixated on the individual instruments. Can you not hear the carefully composed ambience in the background? Which was, by the way, done with a guitar. Its like complaining that a cello is constantly using one note to beef up the low end in a piece, while the violins are clearly doing something else to further the track as a whole. Frankly, these guys are one of the rare and few bands who take to making truly melodic metal. They give me many feels.
I'd also like to add that Vildy is probably the only band I have ever heard to get literally a GROWL out of their palm mutes while retaining excellent single note clarity. Sounds like Cerberus himself. So gud.
The dislikes could also originate from just this particular song or band, not necessarily against all djent in dgeneral, i personally really enjoy born of osiris (repetative solo stuff and keyboards is just beautiful sounding to me. . .yep beautiful) but this band is great aswell talent, composure all them things come into play, i liked it lol.
Been listening to nothing but meshuggah for months. First time listening to this band I’m loving it. I can totally see how they are inspired by meshuggah, but I think they sound unique and refreshing in ways as well.
I love how when I visited Northern Europe with my dad, that everyone there was so nice and cheerful and accommodating. But then, you have their music, which is ear shattering, gut busting metal that scares little kids for miles around when played. What a part of the world that is.
I don't listen a ton of djent, so can someone explain why people are saying that these guys are Meshuggah ripoffs? I mean sure, they djent a shitload but their song structures, vocals, riffs etc etc are completely different. It's like saying that Joe Satriani is ripping off Steve Vai because they play shred and play in similar styles.
I can't really find anything valid to confirm a rip off either. In my opinion Meshuggah's songs are more "static" and firm (riffs and vocals) whilst Vildhjarta's has more movement and fluid songs. Both are great bands though!
Progressive death metal is what I would call it. But I understand what you mean by deathcore, since I assumed it was too until further listening so I don't blame you.
I have seen Vildhjarta live twice, I can tell you that they are by far one of the best live performances out there. Once they start playing, motherfuckers go crazy.
I’ve been going back through older music recently, and goddamn I forgot how good this band is. They way they play those riffs way up on the neck of the guitar gives it a frantic, almost schizophrenic, quality. Imagine a person speaking through gritted teeth. Their music always seemed like a journey into human madness.

Vildhjarta is music evolution. It’s complete something new, something unlike the rest. To bad history shows that true geniuses are underrated till they alive.
I think every single one of the band members has to be recognized as very talented, the timing of every single one of them is amazing. For the singers to cooperate the way they do, and for the band to play in unison through the whole thing, it takes a lot of skill. And I really admire this band for that. And I still keep getting the feeling that no two rhythmic sections are alike in the song, probably because they aren't, but it still blows me away every time!
Vildhjarta helps me getting through a lot of shit. This band is refreshingly talented, I mean listen to the drum work and the riffs and the combination of the two vocalists. Awesome.

I was sweeping the comments and I saw a view that soon out and in MY opinion were way off base... Now if you would listen to an early King Diamond record I can personally hear where Meshuggah may have derived their influence. Same story here. These guys in my opinion, may have been inspired but in no formal do these musicians bluntly ripped the musical endeavors of the big Mesh... I will come clean here and admit that this is the first time in a long time I was so genuinely stoked on a band that I couldn't wait to share it with them. Shoooot, I texted my buddy J at 3 am telling him to.wake up and listen to the heaviest and most comically arranged music he has ever heard. I think these lads, have an amazing ability and a gift for making a marketable record that sounds so.authenticallly themselves. From the sweeping and ethereal interludes and intros to the disjointed heavy low end that is.immediatle accented by the schizophrenic laughter and yells of the high notes. They do.somethings with their guitars that makes me just plain ad happy. I swear during certain phrases on their studio record the high notes sound like a strangle and echoed Gregorian chant or yeah.... Anyway, if you want solid metal "oh shit... here it.comes, breakdowns, they got them in Spades. There tuning is low thick and brutal. It's as if they use industrial steal cable for.stings as you can here the tension as if they were Bridge Cables. I have never written a review because. .. well... I don't consider myself a write or a critic. But I was so stoked to have stumbled and purchased (with real money) on their records, I wanted to thoroughly give them my reapects. If you have made it here right on, thank you for your sacred free time.
Meshuggah, HLB , Cabal and now Vildhjarta...I want to know more from Sweden, names anybody?
Edit : Skitsystem and Nasum are heavy ... Sad story with Nasum though 😢
0:06 It sounds like the best thing ever happened to me
How am i just hearing this for the first time? I must be living under a rock or something
I remember I found this music video in 2013 and my 14 year old self thought this song was bad for some reason. Idk why I thought that lol. This shit slaps.
Great song and song !!!! like your band dudes :!:!:!:!
i think... .. you need more vocalists
Genrywhat and more guitarists
And like at least 2 more drummers
They could use one flute player for good measure
Vildhjarta is a whole other level!!!
Skyrim came out 10 days before this vid dropped.
Might be a tenuous connection in contrived theme... skyrim is a baby game - this is the Dark Souls of music... so... beyond "Nords Dragon-slaying" (which seems a daily occurrence), i can only see your comment on a coincidence as novel at best. *snort*
turn it to 1.25 speed and it goes from djent to thrash.
+toman kiem I like the thrash better, is that wrong?
nope dude, its all good music here
I presume, 0,75 version would sound even more thall than normal, but unfortunately we don't have that option.
Stanislaw Rybinski I need more thall in my djent. I think Im going to send RUclips a complaint.
this is so good
I laugh when I look at all the hate in the comments. It's OBVIOUS they're trolling, so I won't give them the time of day.
*T H A L L*
Djuggernaut what do u mean by thall ?
Usually I scoff at bands with dual vocalists, but these guys do it well enough that it doesn't seem unnecessary.
so thall
such riff
wow
2019, and still, this comments section gives me a ton of nightmares.
brutal vocals by a.j. styles :) i keed. BrUtAl
That riff with that TONE at 4:07......holy!
If you don't shout "I LEFT YOU WITH NOTHING ELSE" along with them, you clearly have no soul.
this band is fucking amazing
the superior drummer is strong on this one (audio engineers will get it)
xD
Metal has evolved so much since the 80s.
