    I’m short (former gymnast) and picked up rowing 4 years ago. Love it! I would very much appreciate a series or just commentary wi your videos on tips/tricks/best practices in training shorter rowers. Thanks!

    I´ve got my waterrower today, my stroke rate was 19 and I was dying after 5 minutes! At least i did 20 minutes. The technic is very important and I felt my hole body besides my arms and my chest!

      Very nice!! Sounds like you are rowing with great form and efficiency!

    Easiest way to teach connection on the drive:
    If you are applying pressure strong and faster enough you will start to come off your seat. Then its about learning how to do this effectively at difference drag factors and rates

    • @trainingtall
      @trainingtall  4 года назад +1

      And not falling off of the seat!

    I mentally count ONE!, two, three with pressure on ONE for the drive and then easy on two, three.

      I like that a lot!! A great cue!

    I explain to my crew athletes that you are The Incredible Hulk on the drive and a Ninja on the recovery. Then I call out to them from the launch, “HULK!.. Ninnnnngaaaaa...” as they row. It helps with the ratio too.

      @@trainingtall You're a 6'8" athlete, confident enough to present clearly and effectively to a bunch of rowing coaches and animated in how you express yourself. Just saying I think you'd be very good in acting, especially if you'd love to do it!

    The quickest way to slow your return is to row without your feet being strapped in

    Hey there,
    Do you know if there is an established methodology/equations to have a proper speed target before the training?
    I am asking because sometimes I aim too high above my hand and basically cannot finish a set, or sometimes I feel too good after a training.
    Thanks man

      @trainingtall  4 года назад +1

      Hey Numan! I don't have any where to direct you... but I encourage you to keep scaling things back as much as you need to and realize that you have your entire life to get better, but its best to start slower and work your way up in intensity!

      Genetics will be the primary determiner. Other than that, eat lots of whole foods and avoid processed junk and make sure you get your sleep!

    I have a 2k coming up soon. My plan is to prep from 1,5 month before. My rowing time is already about okay, but i wonder if you think rowing two times a week during the 1,5 month would be alright?
    Maybe 1 training session of interval and a second training of longer steady row each week?
    best regards

    • @trainingtall
      @trainingtall  4 года назад

      I would aim for 3-4 sessions if possible! 2 steady, 2 HIIT!
