Vivekji Namaste,as far as I remember Mr.Kenneth Anderson himself has done his best to sort out about this debate of Leopard and Panther by saying that the variety mainly and mostly dwelling in deeper forests is comparatively a bit bigger in size and with darker rosettes is named as Panther and the other residing and wandering around human settlements and farms is lighter in colour and a little smaller in size called a leopard but for the biological reasons and aspects both are one and the same.
Rest the maker(God)knows well and better.
