Crete should become autonomous. In Crete they want your money, but more importantly they want your custom and they want you to leave satisfied. The people of Crete are very nice. They don't park over pedestrian crossings and they won't rip you off like main land Greece. I loved Chania. .

Athens isn't all of "mainland Greece".

Hania its a giant tourist trap , its not the real Greece, the mainland its most beautiful from the islands , if you go to mount Olympous you will understand

@@ELLAS1234 Chania is a city with a well preserved historic center. It's far from a "tourist trap." People should *definitely* visit Chania for at least a day, if they're in Crete. "Real Greece" is 1970s buildings in Αιγάλεω or Λαμία; I wouldn't send tourists there.

@@bwana-ma-coo-bah425 You said, verbatim: "They don't park over pedestrian crossings and they won't rip you off like main land Greece" ...so you generalized "MaInLanD gReEcE", an area larger than Scotland. Where in "MaInLanD gReEcE" did you go, that you think you know the entire peninsula? I would agree with you Crete is better than Athens. But is it better than the Peloponnese? The Peloponnese is ahead of Crete in historic preservation.
