- Some words from the designer. "Vero means true. This keyboard brings you a truly great typing experience in a true HHKB layout. With its 6U spacebar and asymmetrical blockers it brings the classic design of the HHKB to MX keyboards."
The keyboard does a great job of visually portraying the HHKB layout all the while gives a GREAT sound profile and typing feel. I enjoyed my time with this board but I understand this is for a very specific audience.

Unique approach to top mount as well. Assuming there's a ludicrous amount of screwholes because then you can technically pick different ways to configure the screws. Like leaving the centre screws out in each tab, or doing just one screw per tab, etc. etc. Very nice attention to detail and allows you to kinda tweak the sound and hardness of the mounting method without needing additional hardware. Always great
"there are so many 60%'s in the recent days", yeah and so were so many 75%'s not too long ago, before that, what was it, 65%'s? and so on, and im all for it lmao
Fashion is a cycle
Facts, 60% is so good
@@offbrandbiscuit agree that
Great build Alex. One slight request, can you do a topre vid so that people like me can have clear idea what to get. I just respect your opinions on stuffs :D
if you're into topre your options are limited, either get a realforce or get an hhkb... there isn't much more to choose from
after you get one of those you can spend an ungodly amount of money on a norbauer case
Here I have to lube, tape, clip, add poron foam, and add O rings to get my keyboard sounding anywhere remotely close to this your build however U just have a PCB, and a polycarbonate plate mounted straight in to the case... Are the Gateron Ink's once lubed that nice sounding (over for example the Gateron Brown Pro's?) or does the design of the case literally make all the difference?
is this the same as the verov2 currently being offered as a group buy? Is there split space bar support?
Use a barber's brush to dust your plates! I can go months without having to rebuild/doing some deep cleaning on my keyboards.

Bro what is the point in not having ctrl or Fn keys, it just doesn't make sense to me, and theres just blank space there. IMO HHKB just doesn't make any sense
Edit: Thanks for filling me in folks, now I understand the appeal.
It's minimalistic aesthetic over functionality. Sure, it looks blank, but to the right person it's a "clean look." Obviously if you value functionality more over design, having a non WKL/HHKB board is better.
caps lock is where the ctrl is on hhkb layout. Fn is next to rshift
Caps lock is replaced by ctrl, a very smart choice; I remap caps lock to ctrl on every keyboard I own. Fn is to the right of the right shift key. So basically you don’t miss much from a regular 60.
Actually it’s not aesthetics over functionality. It’s redesigned for functionality. If you take the time to learn it you might find it a really helpful design
@@thomas9.19 not really. HHKB is just as functional as WK, just the keys are in different spots. There's no reason to really have another key in the corners once the control key is moved to caps lock
I still prefer WK/WKL but HHKB has a lot of attention and care to the layout and design
❤
does anyone know if that weight is pvd coated brass
It is brass shiny black pvd weight
@@Miutan213 thanks 👍
hi alex!
Huel Corner
what are the best stabs to get these days?
Tx stabs and staebies
@@lorenischangstonhughes ok thanks!
staebies
@@mrb-btw ok, I hear most people say staebies or tx stabs, so are the staebies better? and why?
@@sandy-vd3sl i have yet to try tx stabs so i couldn’t say. i have tried durock v1 and v2, c3, owlstabs, and staebies. staebies just don’t rattle. i don’t hear any tick at all when using them.
Where can I get this keyboard? When I head to the website, it doesn't display anything?
it isnt for sale yet, not sure when it drops but you can probably find that information on the Alchemist Keyboards Discord which you can find the link to on their site.
Better idea to join the vendors website: discord.gg/antipode my mistake for not listing this!
Given the exorbitant price, I guess the target audience is rich collectors or die-hard HHKB layout fans. Great design, with a nice bottom owners will probably see 1-2 times in their life.

Tokyo60
Tokyo60 has a more symmetrical hhkb layout with a 7u spacebar instead of the true hhkb layout seem on topre hhkbs
Yeah, but it gives the core hhkb experience at a great price.
