You're the BEST teacher EVER. So extremely articulate. So extremely concise. You teach more in depth, useful skills than all other woodworkers I have seen - in such a short vid to boot! Your tutorials DEFINITELY provide confidence in my abilities.
Good on ya, Uncle Knackers. And I thank you with a grateful heart.
G'day Lioness..thanks for the feedback.....l really appreciate the comment and thanks for taking the time to watch. Cheers 👍😁🇦🇺
As a 20+ yr router user, I can say that you have opened up a new world to wood workers. One of the best introductry videos on routers..
Thank you very much mate! Really appreciate the comment 👍 Cheers 👍😁🇦🇺
British have the best plugs, like to see someone bend the pins on ours
Ours are made from plasticine mate 😂
Lol 😆 true....👍
A trick for bent plug blades... Buy some cheap wall outlets. Here in the USA they can be found for $1-1.25 for a double plug. Then take your cut off wheel and make single plugs out of them and clean up the sharp edges. Now you can cover your blades safely while in storage for less than $0.75 each.
But British plugs also have a huge design flaw, they land pins up just waiting to be stood on!

Am I the only one that sees the thumbnail?
🤔.....I don't think so mate 😂

Great advice and tips for anyone starting out with routers.😉👍🏽
Those anti slip mats are awesome for many uses in the workshop,
but can lose their grip when the get too dusty, if this happens just wash them in warm soapy water,
rinse thoroughly and it'll be as good as new.
Thanks Bill and l agree with everything you said about those mats....love 'em but you do need to keep them as dust free as possible 👍 Have a good one mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Great video, as a 60+ guy I am getting more and more into woodworking as a hobbie and it seems every time I think I need a new tool you show a tutorial on it, has been tremendously helpful, keep up the great work , always look forward to the next one, from New Zealand

Love your videos! I’m new to woodworking and think your beginner videos are awesome for building confidence! I’m looking to get a router soon, but the different bits confuse the heck out of me. Would love to see a follow up video about different bit types and uses!
👍....Thanks mate! Glad you like the vids. I may do a video on that but we will just have to wait and see. Cheers 👍😁🇦🇺

*One of my favorite woodworking tools **MyBest.Tools** Light and easy to maneuver. Noise level is a lot better than others I have tried. No cord makes it easy to grab and use. The clear base plate makes it easy to see ahead of what you are cutting. The electric brake is awesome. Glad to have this in my tool collection.*
👍
Crazy amount of growth since I first saw a video of yours years ago. Congrats on your success.

I always use safe router practices. Always plugged in and turned to the on position when changing bits
Brilliant video! So very useful to me as I can now open the box and get the scary router out!! I discovered quickly that owning and using were rather different!
On plugs, in the UK our 3 pins are stronger and would take some bending!
A B I G thank you for the time and effort you spent with me on the fixture issue, you proved yourself to be a good man who would give so willingly and pleasantly over such a small matter with neither fame nor fortune on offer. Thank You!!!

My pleasure Bob...glad to help mate! Thanks for watching the video as well and do yourself a favour and crank up that router as they really are an awesome little machine 👍👍 Your plugs outdo ours by a long shot....it's not uncommon to break one of the blades off which is some what annoying 👍😁🇦🇺

I used to work for a cabinet maker after school as a kid. I saw a bloke hurt himself with a router. They are one of those tools that don't look to dangerous. Not like a circular saw or chainsaw etc.... Which is the very thing that makes them dangerous. They don't stop spinning once turned off for ages if your stuck in the thing.
Good video. Keep up the good work knackers
👍...Couldn't agree more Dan 👍👍 Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Great video knackers as always and I too use a non slip mat when routing, it's a cheap but a simple way to keep your work gripped without clamps which can get in the way. Look forward to your next video. 👍🏴

Love your videos as always especially this one. Very helpful indeed. I'm surprised Makita or any other manufacturer have not taken the time to make it easier to change the bit and treat it just the same way you would do with an impact driver or an reciprocating saw; just insert the blade or bit in as it immediately locks into place and then you are good to go....
👍😁...Thanks mate 👍 I think it has to do with stability of the bit. There can be no room for movement at all 🤔
